WE GOT ONE!! Welcome to the crew!
I think this is a great concept. Keep the good ideas coming ^___^
Happy Takeover Tuesday!

I agree, it's a cool idea, things like this make NG so cool. If I had to redesign it, I would put the logo somewhere on the front page and have it redirect to this page.

Today and every Tuesday for the foreseeable future, each Supporter has access to feature one item on the front page.
If someone features an item that was already featured, it will bump it back to the top of the page and add their name to the front of the list of people who have featured it.
At the end of the day, the results of Takeover Tuesday will be archived. Entries will be ranked first by the total number of people who featured them and second by when they were featured, so you get rewarded for starting early. The featured-by credits will also switch to chronological order, so the first person to feature an item will be first on the list in the archive.
Everyone is invited to react to the featured items with emotes, to make things more fun all around.
We’re excited and curious to see what you do with this and we hope it encourages more of you to come aboard as Supporters. Your support keeps NG going and growing, thank you everyone who helps to keep the dream alive!
Even if you can't be a Supporter, you can help make the day a success by viewing the things people feature!
Bug note - The ability to "view more" when you reach the front page limit is broken at the moment. Reacts were broken at launch but are now fixed.
If you don't want to support NG you can instead support @Matzerath today by buying Orange Roulette on Steam!
All supporters are main characters today💪
really awesome idea, and lots of fun, to rumage through the posts.
just wished it was more contained. like maybe a second banner that has left and right arrows you can click through, (or it scrolls automatically while left alone)
or at the very least maybe add a collapse function
Still very cool
Pretty neat feature with way more people popping things up there than I thought - guess that means there's a lot of supporters old or new which is good. I read through this a lot more than I usually do and 1000% think this is better than holding a 'blackout' event - this is like a win-win-win imo. Supporters win, creators win, and Newgrounds probably wins from all those peeps who really want their submission bumped on the front page and either engage with the site or go out to buy supporter. Seeing this is an every tuesday thing too is neat.
My only thing isn't necessarily with the display or how large it is, but with how it feels like a big mobile-optimized element surrounded by a bunch of desktop optimized elements. Big pictures and text is great it just feels like this is a mobile list instead of a desktop-oriented experience. By no means am I dissing the feature or the work put into it, I just hope the layout gets tweaked between this week and next esp. since there's some others here that have a much more negative view than me.
Being the armchair expert I try to be, I played around in devtools a bit and think halving padding on most of the elements helps with the space. Moving the text & reactions to the right-side, adding the submission icon + rating to the same line as the title, re-sizing some text (18px for title, 14px for span) of the featured image (and re-sizing the image to be 93px tall like they are in the featured grids) also cuts down on some vertical space while giving space for submissions to have some bigger pics. The react overlay doesn't seem to break with the lesser space either which was cool and I have no clue what this would look like for multi-line featured names. I included a pic with my little edits vs what it looked like below (top is the edit with a ~30px shorter box)
If all else fails, making stuff smaller probably would help too. Just my two cents and a picture showing I'm a little bored today. Overall tho I like it and keep those cool features coming!
This is such a cool feature! I hope it doubles your revenue!

We're still thinking on ways to improve it but one reason so much padding was added was that it felt really noisy / busy when information was closer together and you had a long list of boxes all crowded with info like that, including the issues with when you have a lot of names attached.

Makes sense and yea applying less padding to a big ol list like this could get a little busy. It does make me appreciate how the site is laid out with as much content as it's got. Not sure how else the feature could be displayed (a grid like the featured blocks or search wouldn't have the same pizzaz imo and cutting off the list to 10-20 wouldn't have the same 'takeover' effect) so I wish you guys luck! I do like it and I'll be happy to see the feature coming back every Tuesday.
Wow I love this idea, I have always thought the shout-out thing at the bottom of the page should have like a bonus paid option and this is basically that. The Newgrounds Dream will never die <3
that new feature scared me xP
not sure if the question was already asked/answered in pages 2-4, but: can i suggest something i or someone else already suggested in one of the frontpage suggestion thread, but didn't get frontpaged?
The takeover feature is very nice! It gives an opportunity to bring to the front the "super favorite" of many people with different taste, or showcase old or obscure stuff that would be hard to discover otherwise. It will probably be abused in some way though, but I don't think it would be much of an issue. Anyway adjustments can always come along the way.
Only thing that comes often is that it should take less space on mobile. I'm sure it will be addressed by the amount of users complaining though! Other than that, it will sure bring more people to buy the supporter status. Which is a good thing to keep the site afloat. A website costs money to run! Lots of people underestimate how it can ramp up!
Damn, this feature is a total success Mr. Fulp! Already discovered a couple of artists and got a couple of followers myself.
Any chance blocked tags will work in this feature? idk about everyone but for me (mainly in the adult side of things) i find it very important
every1 wh0 featur3s a Piconjo m00vie als0 gets a fr33 p3n0r in their buttz.
It is kinda clunky. How about adding a feature to fold it down? For supporters only of course.

No plans at the moment for tag blocking but it's something we'll keep in mind. It would probably add some performance bloat but could be doable if it starts to feel really necessary.

I notice Takeover Tuesday was added to the Supporter Perks page of the Wiki but not on the Supporter purchasing page :O
OMG it felt wrong seeing this and dropping a link for my own work. I mean it's this even ok? Also I saw tits on the suggested features. Are we getting adult frontpages? This is all so new and exciting.

People can feature A-rated material since the filters are applied. Would like people to avoid featuring mis-rated material though.

We might have the Wiki page populate the Supporter purchasing page, at which point I can make edits via the wiki, which would be handy. Do you think the stuff on the Wiki page would look good on the Supporter purchase page, or do you think it's sensory overload?
So far, I'm not really the biggest fan of the implementation of Takeover Tuesday. Might need to warm myself up to it a little more.
My main gripes with it are that it takes-up too much space, and that it sometimes feels like P-bot 2.0 with it only highlighting the obvious popular stuff. Though, I might need to check back on that last one later today because it's probably not as bad as it looks at first glance. Especially now that the "Hot item" got removed from the top of the list
Really, the biggest suggestion I have is to put the items on a grid instead of a list so that it takes-up a lot less space, and put the "show all" button a lot closer to the top instead of over 50% of the entire web-page. Like, maybe 25% instead?
Overall, I like the idea because it gives me another reason to participate in the website, see some things I may have quickly glossed over in the past, and discover some never-before seen things. I just don't like how obnoxiously big it all is.
Those were just my first impressions of the feature, but with a few fixes and a bit more time it'll probably be my favourite feature.

Freaking sweet. NG really is the best place to share stuff. A feature like this is super cool for discovery. That's the one thing I think NG lacks compared to other places. Thanks for being so user friendly with your monetization!
