Let's imagine this in practice: Starting next week, nothing can be featured if it has already been featured. ~2000 items are now already on the "block list." What happens when someone finds something to feature, gets blocked, then finds something else to feature, gets blocked, then finds something else to feature, and gets blocked?
I imagine they will give up eventually. If they became a Supporter because they wanted to participate, they might also request a refund.
Right now the premise of Takeover Tuesday is easy to explain: Become a Supporter and you can feature one thing on the front page each week. Any deviation from that will result in a text wall of disclaimers on the front page, along with people feeling like they don't have the freedom to truly feature what they want to feature.
I'll use Punch Punch Forever as an example to explore some other thoughts. Most NG regulars know that it's pretty basic to feature Punch Punch Forever on Takeover Tuesday, given that it's already so popular here. The person who decides to feature Punch Punch Forever is probably not in tune with this and if they got blocked, it's unlikely they would turn around and suddenly feature some hidden gem. They would likely go for another extremely popular item, or give up because they are just here for Punch Punch Forever.
I've seen people feature Punch Punch Forever each week but I don't get any feeling that it's dominating Takeover Tuesday and stealing opportunities from other people. The whole idea is that "Supporters have taken over" and I don't think we need to rush to start micro-managing them with "not like that" stipulations.
