I'm gonna be asleep when this goes live, but I'd bet good money the announcement thread's gonna be lively.

Maybe if I get up early enough.

Imagine there would be a way for users to buy a certain amount of a new NG "currency", say 100 NG$ per 1$US.
Then a user could distribute NG$ to creators of their choice, and when a user cashes out, it pays out 0.90$US per 100 NG$
People encouraging artists would give 10% to NG by doing so, and it would be seen as a good argument by many artists probably to bring their fans on NG. It would also mean that 10% of any amount of NG$ bought could be used right away, then the 90% remaining waiting for distribution to artists and cash out, could be used to generate interests while it sits there.
Then interests could trickle into prize pools, attracting more artists.
This was actually the plan with Grounds Gold, which NG accounts had been secretly accumulating since 2000 based on their performance in The Portal, although that probably broke at one point. The eventual idea was that people could barter their gold for services from each other, like if you need someone to help with cleanup or coloring on a project.
Amusingly, this is what Crypto essentially could have brought to NG as well. We could have turned Grounds Gold into an NG crypto coin and could have stockpiled the initial batch to pay out as a sort of site rev share. The coin could then be traded for services, or sold for whatever the market is willing to pay for it on crypto exchanges, potentially becoming worth millions, or nothing, depending on how all that goes.

Supposed to be midday for the launch!

It's an interesting concept to trade services among artists and encourage collaboration! Having a in house currency tied to a crypto in the real world could gain lots of value by itself, or lose it all, I'm not that well versed into this though!
I was thinking of it similar to twitch bits. All users could buy any amount of NG$ for real money or vice versa, all users would have a in site "bank account" of NG$. I think tying it to US$ would make it more trustworthy, but I might be wrong. I don't know the legal implications or how hard it would be to implement, or if it would be better with cryptos associated to it. But I think the launch of a "digital product" by NG in the form of virtual currency, would be well received and would generate decent inflow of funds. It could be traded between users at will, for services as you mention, or as donations.
It's pretty cool that you already thought of such concept! I think it would be an awesome feature.
I'm excited to see what this new feature brings! Is it a time sensitive thing, or will it be available all day Tuesday starting from 12am (with the exception of tomorrow being mid day)?
+1 for a supporter based advertisement system, but also -1 because I worry about how it would be implemented, how invasive it would be, and how it could be abused. I do think there could be more methods similar to the hidden message and weekly front page posts (speaking of which, I miss when it was a 2 week cooldown), just little things for people to get their stuff in front of people without getting front paged by moderators. But on the other hand, making newgrounds "pay to win" like that would have a lot of ugly consequences.

I could see this working in an alternate timeline where web3 is an actual thing. Too bad blockchain technology did not manage to break away from mere financial speculation so far (maybe one day!).

The entire idea of web3's pretty much dead, and has been for a while. You want someone specific to blame, blame Dan Olson - that man publicly executed web3 with Line Goes Up back in 2022:
(Seriously, this is a damn good teardown of the whole space - I'd highly recommend watching it)

Okay, quick update - I thought this was gonna go live at midnight EST (effectively 5AM in my timezone), not midday. I'm almost certainly gonna be around when this goes live (probably mid-afternoon my time).

It will be available the rest of today once it launches, until 12am EST (does get tempting to base it on PST so it runs later on the west coast).

The spaces would be defined as ad spaces, vs people paying their way into the existing showcase boxes. The question is just how widespread the ads would be, the system could probably start out pretty low-key but if it's a success, people might expect more impressions for their ads, meaning ads in more places. A lot of the ads would be interesting, at least, I imagine Supporters might even want to see them so we'd probably need a toggle option there.
fingers crossed for Triple XP day (I need more XP).

By my guess, this system's probably gonna start with one top-banner ad (replacing the "X joined the crew" Supporter ad) and a side-banner ad which can pop up either on the main page or on submissions.
Given that the upcoming system is getting its ads from site users, rather than some random advertising monopoly or megacorp, I suspect any push for more impressions is gonna be tempered by the advertisers not wanting to negatively impact their own viewing experience.

You want my advice, I'd recommend checking how many Supporters use that toggle - if its a particularly high number, you've succeeded with flying colours.

Thomas, your'e bringing back ads? If so, do you plan on doing a monster social media ad campaign? If not, what is your idea for an NG ad campaign? Mine would about Newgrounds being touted and bragged about as the "cooler" entertainment platform compared to the likes of... you get the point and have tons of "attitude"!(remember "Blast Processing" and "Play it Loud" back in the 90s?)

No plans to run an ad campaign off-site at the moment, although if we solve the problem of losing more money as the site grows, that could be a possibility.

DAMN IT!! YOU SHOULD'VE FOUCUSED MORE ON YOUR SCHOOLWORK AND NOT SHOEHORN IN TRANSPHOBIC JOKES IN YOUR GAMES!! /j The world would a different place had NG became a public company and google didn't exist. Hey, I should make that topic into a forum thread!!!
Okay, that’s a pretty good incentive! Now is this legit a weekly thing or just something done monthly?

This feels like a reference to some disgraced YouTuber/dev I've long since forgotten about.

Oh my, I didn't know it can be seen as a reference. I'm not disparaging Fulp, just mad about what could've been
