I've been using the player for about a week now but when I opened it today this showed up, I've enabled flash, reinstalled it twice, but the problem still persists.
Anyone know a fix?

#metoo.looks like Adobe's killswitch also killed the NG player which depended on Adobe AIR to work.

My bad. It's not AIR's fault. Looks like NG Player makes use of the ActiveX Flash Player. Which seems to be dead. I uninstalled it and tried to install an older version and the windows just coughed up an Error 1722. When i tried to run NG player again, and it prompted to install version 32(latest) of AX Flash player, it also coughs up the same error.

Try downloading the current version of NG Player and doing a fresh install. Let me know if it's still not working afterwards. Older versions would have had the killswitch, if that is what is happening now.
Also if Windows prompts you to uninstall Flash, be sure to click No. The player needs the Flash runtime to be installed.

Ignore previous post. Actually clicked reply too soon.... I downloaded NG Player in December last year, was there a new version since then? It's 21.6 MB in size, does not say what version it is. These forums need an edit button btw.

You actually should see a red pencil edit button in the top corner of your reply... Let me know if you don't see it. I'll delete that other post.
NG Player was updated a month or two ago to avoid the killswitch, then updated again a week ago due to a second potential killswitch.

Yep exactly the same revision number {4797581B-471C-4527-80C8-ADBD63BEE177} and filesize. It can't install the Active X Flash player anymore. It just coughs up the same error I said before. As AFAIK, according to Kong forums, it's the latest Flash Player plugin (version 32) which has the killswitch, which NG Player is trying to install. Version 28 supposedly still works.
EDIT: Ok. Looks like I can't edit older posts. Will try the newer download and see..
Uninstalled NG Player that i installed in december. Installed the one I just downloaded from
https://www.newgrounds.com/flash/player/download
Try to run it, it tries to install the Flash Player plugin then it coughs up the same Error message again. Will now attempt to play with Flash Player NPAPI plugin(for firefox) version 28.

Right. Feudalism 1 and 2 worked with Flash Player 28 plugin for Firefox 84. Pretty sure the Flash Player Plugin is the issue here. The newer versions of the plugins are definitely killswitching themselves.
EDIT: Well FP28 is wonky too. Sometimes gives me a black screen, then my monitor disconnects itself for a few seconds and I have to reload the game's page for it to work.
is this the solution? cuz i will downgrade my flash player rn

nope, still broke on mine, dunno if it's worth mentioning but my browser automatically blocks flash every start so I have to re-enable it.
did a re-install like you said, enabled it, refreshed the page, and still broken player
I'm having the same issue and can't find any way to try and get an older version of flash.
I'm having the same thing happen as OP. When trying to play Zombidle (in particular) & all other Flash Movies/Games. Not helpful for a Portal Moderator.
I just have that Flash picture appear & even if I click on that nothing happens. I have uploaded again (today) the NG Flash Player but it hasn't helped.

Okay after further investigation it seems that Movies play fine but Games don't work at all.
I have switched to use NG player as default but it doesn't seem to matter with movies, they just play BUT when I try to play games the page loads with the Launch in Newgrounds Player option, I press the button at which point the FLASH Logo page pops up & from there it lets me do nothing.

EDIT:I thought your sig is a comment....
the 400MB downloads are the conslidated zipped up versions of ALL of the flash players or every system available AND debug versions for devs. A single flash player plugin is more like 15-20MB each . Pick one for your system OS. I'm not 100 percent sure which is which, judging from the filenames. Only tried the AX versions which can't install anymore. And the MSI link(for Windows Firefox/NPAPI) I posted above.
Sorry, my memory's bad. I posted the links in the other thread.

IM IN UR HALLZ SHOOTIN UR BALLZ
Con-Quest players as well as myself are having the same issue when trying to run Con-Quest with the Newgrounds player.
I did an uninstall and re-install using the link here https://www.newgrounds.com/flash/player
It looks like it is downloading version 1.0.3
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like when trying to run it.
If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

Turns out there were Windows updates this past year to prevent the player from running, Sonucais posted a workaround for it.

Damnit, windows. There's also Ruffle https://ruffle.rs/#compatibility if anyone wants to avoid removing updates and play only older Flash games.

I don't have any of those "Adobe Security Updates" installed in the first place! NG Player is trying to install AX Flash Player 32 in order to work. The Flash Player installer included with NG Player can't work anymore.

Opened it just now and got it too, clicking on it does nothing either.

Tried these 3 olde methods for resolving Error 1722.... They didn't work. Still got Error 1722 when NG Player tries to install Flash Player 32.

Yeah nope. The .cfg file solution doesn't do anything for me either. The Flash Player Plugin included with NG Player plain refuses to install. It's got nothing to do with newgrounds website being blocked by Adobe or whatever. Same Error 1722. I never had this error when I installed NG Player months ago. In Dec 2020 to be exact... which is actually less than a month. Less than a month and it screwed up already.

Well screw that. Anyways was reading Andkon's FAQ on running Flash games.
And his link to Flash Player 32.0.0.371 (NPAPI version A.K.A. plugins for Firefox/Palemoon) worked for me. At least until Firefox kills Flash too. So that version of Flash Player should work better than Version 28 which I tested earlier.
Archive dot org link for Flash Player 32.0.0.371 NPAPI
Andkon's mirror link.
