ok sorry about triple post... but I didnt come in here thinking I was better than everone else, I came in here hoping to learn of some new bands and shit, and ask for a little help and someone gets all pissed off about it and starts pissing me off. Thats fucking bull.

Or look out for unconventional stuff... acoustic interludes, variety of instruments (some not accustomed with Metal music), strange effects, unconventional time signatures, high levels of talent in the musicians, very long songs, a somewhat serious approach to the music (be it lyrically or musically).
