New bands I've recently checkered out:

Rhapsody (/of Fire) - Gooood. Well great, though I over listened and have kinda left my Power Metal phrase again.

Sonata Arctica - Alright, I like one song, besides that they're probably the weakest Power Metal I've ever heard.... not including the crap PM bands like Bodom.

Axenstar - A bit bland. They're good. But all the songs sound the same. And they well over the chorus repeating thing.

Týr - TEH AWESUMZ!!!!! <-- Nuff said :D.

Korpiklaani - Meeeh. Alright, vocals annoy me... may be seeing them with Blind Guardian, if I can afford to go see them. I have other priorities at the moment.

Gojira - Teh good. With more listens I think I'll really enjoy this band. Seeing them in a few weeks too.

GWAR - Saw them live, had never heard them. Got Beyond Hell, fell in love. They're also TEH AWESUMZ!!!!

Suffocation: good but lacks something i feel maybe the vocals dont quite do it for me

Drudkh - Where have you been all my life, soo good this is some of the best BM ive heard in awhile

lurker of chalice: tis very good although personally i prefer Xasthur and i am yet to here some Leviathan

Desire: Doom metal at it its finest in my opinion, makes my skin tingle :P

Axamenta: wicked melodic death metal similar to scar symmetry wortha look into if ur interested

my recent discoveries:

The Abyss - quite wicked Black Metal side-project by the guys of Hypocrisy.

Hypnosia - Extreme Hatred - oldschool death/thrash to the bone! Lovely.

Vorphalack - bland black metal in the Norwegian vein

Summoning - quite good Austrian BM

Nightfall - doom metal, quite good, if somewhat repetitive.

Haha, I remember when I first checked them out a bit ago. I thought they'd be some outdated Death Metal band... but I was in shocked and the ownage of them. They just smacked me in the face and I've loved them since.

precisely what i thought, i had heard the song spirit crusher before and thought they were good but dated and maybe a bit too thrashy for my liking but recently i got curious and its killed this cat and ive gone to heaven :P

i read about this band called "cannabis corpse" they say the're like cannibal corpse riffs plus good weed. they're actually pretty good, their songs are wordplays on CC songs (i cum bud, force fed shitty grass, reefer stashed place etc.) check them out if you haven't already
