I was in a mall in Ottawa and I was wearing a Burzum shirt. Nothing special, yet a guy came up and started talking to me just because of my shirt.

Weird, but I did recommend him Gjenferdsel.

I hate people who talk to me because of my shirts. I was wearing a Nile "Black Seeds of Vengeance" shirt and some br00tal kid starting ranting on how Suffocation was 3x better.

too bad I'm pretty much the only metalhead in town that still goes to school and my story on metal:
back about 2 years ago, I was into rap and alternative rock, me and dad were driving up to my grandma's house in Montana, and I had in one of my rap cds, I was falling asleep, so my dad pulled it out and put in Iron Maiden and he put it on 2 minutes to midnight. I woke up completely and thought, this music is awesome, I then went into a nu metal phase, being completely unaware that it wasn't real metal I bought about 15-20 cds over the course of one year, then I learned about real metal it pulled me in, now whenever I need to vent or concentrate or get mentally ready for anything, I put on some metal. My friend, that I recently introduced to metal, said this, "here in a few months you will be back into rap again, I guarentee it," I have not voluntarily listened to a single rap song yet

Did you just put your balls on my sandwich?

I'm ashamed of my past phase. Now that I enjoy every genre of music, I don't want to look back at the shitty nu-metal phase.

Just got back from seeing a gig at the nicest metal club in the city. It's located on a pier on the quay, so every window has a view of the harbour or the sea, which kinda threw my perspective off after a couple of pints when a passenger ferry sailed past the window.

I thought the building was moving away :(
Perspective is a bitch.

The first 2 bands sucked, so I won't mention them, but the latter 2 were metal and not bad, although they both decided to do a cover song each, and for each of them the song they covered both happened to be Metallica tracks, which kinda annoyed me since they were wearing Slayer, Megadeth, Soulfly, Lamb of God shirts etc. You know, bands that i'd prefer to hear covers of.

Everyone else seemed to enjoy it though.

Some metal heads apreciate the old 80's stuff that helped make metal what it is today , like judas priest and stuff like that. but some people say that isnt a true metal. where do you guys stand?

#2. Some guy posted 1 page ago that wants to join. List is mediocre.

PenisClown's summary of the history of Metal that leaves out a lot of stuff but I don't care:

1968: Black Sabbath form, start playing blues gigs in their hometown.
1970 something: Black Sabbath start playing Heavy Metal at the suggestion, "If people pay to watch scary music, then they'll pay to listen to scary music."
1970 something: Hard rock kicks off, with bands such as Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Def Leppard.
1970 something: NWOBHM movement starts, many imitators follow.
1983: Metallica's debut 'Kill 'em All' creates the genre 'Power Metal'.
1983: Slayer's debut 'Show No Mercy' elaborates on Metallica's fast and furious playing style, but incorporates satanic lyrics.
1983: Mercyful Fate's debut 'Mellisa' is released, the genre 'Black Metal' is created.
Mid 1980's: MTV starts, the Glam movement is created with the likes of Hanoi Rocks, Motley Crue and Nitro.
Mid 1980's: Hardcore Punk underground movement starts.
Mid 1980's: Hardcore Punk and Heavy Metal crossover creating the genre 'Metalcore'.
Mid 1980's: Metalcore spawns Grindcore in band 'The Accused'.
1990's: Black Metal movement starts in Norway with bands such as Celtic Frost, Mayhem and Bathory.
1990's: Death Metal movement starts in Sweden/America with bands such as Possesed, Morbid Angel and Obituary. Black Metal heavily opposes Death Metal for lack of evilness.
1992: Heavy Metal's popularity and coverage stops with forming of Grunge Rock.

Yes, I missed shitloads of important stuff, but hey, fuck you.

Original metalcore was called crossover thrash. Which is 10x better than mixing melodic death and hardcore.

Wasn't Ghoul also starting rehab? I havent been on msn for a long time now, so I cant say if he ever signed on within his "disappearance", but last we talked he was mentioning rehab for drinking. But I cant remember if he was checking in to stay or doing his own steps. My memory is shit and I dont keep logs.

That reminds me, I bought 'Blasphemy Made Flesh' last week.

I got the money by eating a chocolate icecream that had been dropped the the floor and stepped on.
