In my experience the only bands I haven't been disappointed with live are bands of the Grind and Extreme Death Metal persuasion. They don't fuck around with stupid tricks in the studio, or hire a 100 piece orchestra, or get that bitch from cradle of filth to sing frilly opera parts over the top. When you see a band like Waco Jesus, Hate Eternal, Nile, Devolved, Dying Fetus etc, you can be assured that you'll be seeing a tip top performance. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Or, you could be Emperor, and get your concert lulz (tip top performance) by seeing Trym. Yes, the good ol' fashioned Trym, who's only outloled by Horgh. Seriously, though, ever seen concert clips of Horgh with Immortal? That dude looks fuckin' ridiculous. But his performance is awesome.

Would you guys consider The Accused metal? I'm kind of having an internal conflict about it. I've heard them called Punk Metal, and I've heard them called Hardcore Punk. Either way I think their fucking awesome, I cant get enough of them lately.

Should be a damn good album which I will definitely be getting.
Just thought my fellow Motorheadbangers would like to know.
Keep it Heavy.
Peace.

Lemmy is probably the coolest old person ever. Like, every other 60 year old would look ridiculous dressing hardcore or punk or rock n roll or wateva. Older people just you know look old fashioned or really normal like plain shirts and pants or wateva. But Lemmy just looks cool goin off with his bass and bangin' his head.

I think A Twist in the Myth will be released in the UK, which is excellent. If I do see it in the shops next time I go shopping (most likely the same week the album comes out), I will definately get it.

If it is an album that's worth getting, please let me know. I recently got into Motörhead and will probably start getting a few more albums of theirs (maybe not all of them since they have about 18 albums O__o).

Not for me either. I prefer getting the studio albums and not any of the live or greatest hits albums. However, I do want to get some of Iron Maiden's live albums.

4th September apparently. If anywhere decides they'll stock it!

Speaking of which I couldn't find any Blind Guardian albums whatsoever. So I got Dragonforce's Inhuman Rampage instead. I was gonna get Awake (Dream Theater) and Blackwater Park (Opeth) but I planned to do it post-cinema... and all the shops were closed.

Duffy is away. And the only other official here is Goatchrist, and he seldom posts. Just be patient my young padawan.

But did you find loads of fucking blink-182 CDs instead? :P That happens to me a lot of times when I go to the shops. It's a pain in the ass.

I heard many good comments on this album, so, a while ago, I decided to buy it. In my opinion, Scenes from a Memory is much better. There are like, only 3 songs that I enjoy on Awake.

Yeah, apparently Blink-182 are metal now :S.
And lots of Black Sabbath CDs.... god they annoy me!

well, Darkest Hour is metalcore sigh i'm not really sure if they are acceptable
Arch Enemy pre- Angela then yes
In Flames well i hate them but yes
Marilyn Manson, please no never metal never will be
Trivium, do i have to say it again?

Sorry well only 2 are metal one is kinda iffy and the other two are nu-metal and metalcore, we don't accept those bands but i'd gladly recomend you to the Nu-Metal/Metalcore crew and if you really want to get into metal i would get some early Prong (crossover Thrash, like metacore only better), Strapping Young Lad (because they are accessable now), Dream Theater (good Prog Metal), and some Obituary, and some Terrorizer for some variety. And by the way anyone hear the new Terrorizer song, it's GODLY.

Yes, fucking stupid shops.

Don't complain. It's blink that should be a big bother in the music shops. :| But the metal section gets worse. All of the emo and possibly all of the punk music is placed in the metal section and even Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers are placed in the section. :S

I've heard it is, I mean its down to opinion, but Awake and Image and Words are seen as two of their best. Plus Awake has Kevin Moore on it, and I prefer him over Jodan.

Those seem to be the two most popular DT albums, but I want to try and get their Octavarium album or their 6DOIT album next.

Guys, I heard that two new Metallica songs were recorded on their recent live-shows :P I don't like them at all, but i'd love to know if they suck even more now ;) Anyone heard those new tracks?

Response to Metal Hell 2006-08-22 21:56:04

the stores here don't have any metal section of cds, they just throw everything; punk, pop, alternative, etc. all in the rock/pop section, and i haven't heard anything new by metallica recently

Did you just put your balls on my sandwich?

nope, and after the monstocity that was St. Anger i really don't want to hear anything by any other one of the Big Four of American Thrash anymore. Honestly i don't like ANY thrash all that much, execpt Kreator, Annihilation, Venom, and Death. I hope they realize that they suck at music, PERIOD.

AGH! Big Four are like my thing man. Except maybe Anthrax, they weren't as good as the rest, and Metallica went crap, so I guess that just leaves megadeth and slayer, but AGH! I always knew you guys were into the newer shit, but god, don't insult the big four! Well, actually just don't insult Megadeth and Slayer. They'll kick your fuckin' Kreator anyday (I like Venom and Death, and I don't know Annihilation).

I was told be good word that Metallica would return to their thrash roots. I don't believe any of that bullshit but hey, they had three good albums and I respect them for that.

Oh god... Octavarium is AMAZING in my opinion, it's a lot heavier than most of their stuff, and still sticks to the same style, it's godly.

And all of you guys must have it pretty bad, I live by Philladelphia and there is this record store totally dedacated to metal, 2 floors, it has EVERYTHING. and no metalcore shit.

I take that back, I'm listening to Justice right now and it kicks arse, not as much as the first three, but i still think it kicks arse. Oh yea, I'm going to get Number of the Beast today, so yeah, I was told it's one of those albums where every song kicks arse. And I hope you guys acknowledge NWOBHM as much as I do, and as much as the 80's metal gods did. Yep, all those great bands were into NWOBHM. That started it man. Preist, Maiden, Motorhead, Sabbath, especially Sabbath, they all made metal today, by inspiring every other single band we adore. Wow that was a rant alrite.
