Maiden, Sabbath and Pantera are all yes's.
But three's too little to judge. So most some more metal bands you enjoy.... about 10+ if you can.

They're pretty much all yes. You'll need to wait for either Duff or GC to confirm your entry though.

yeah, that part was pretty funny, i also liked the part where it was talking about the guy that blew his brains out with a shotgun, and the other band members made necklaces from the pieces

A lot of those bands as you said are hardcore/metalcore/numetal, a good chunk of them are some good metal bands, but a lot of them belong in the nu/metalcore crew I think.

Heh, I'm thinking of getting Blind Guardian's Battalions of Fear album, but I may change my mind and want either A Night at the Opera or Imaginations from the Other Side instead. It was quite hard to choose which one of the three albums I want to get next. :P But I'm sticking with Battalions of Fear for now.

Well I'm gonna try and get Nightfall tomorrow. Then the next time I will be able to afford a CD will be when A Twist In The Myth comes out, so I'll get that. Then A Night At The Opera.
I have A Night At The Opera now... and it's fucking bomb ass shit.
I fucking love it. It's like porn. Good porn.

If you want to buy a Blind Guardian album, I suggest their live one. It's pretty solid, and gives you a general overview of what they have to offer.

Live albums aren't really my thing, to me its like 'Yeh its like I'm there, but I'm not... and that sucks :('. Plus I'm not really interested in general overviews of bands either - Greatest Hits wise. I'd just prefer a solid studio album that marks the strongest period in songwriting and fun.

riiiiiight.... slowly backs for the door
ya i dont really like live albums, just that you cant do anything cuz your not actually at the concert. but sometimes the live albums are bad cuz you get to hear songs that they dont put on their original albums, like Children of Bodem the have a song that they added to their Tokyo album. it was pretty awesome, but other than that, i could stick with the cds that arent live albums
Live albums help people judge a bands live performance sometimes. Espescially with bands like Mercyful Fate and say Blind Guardian. When they make their albums they do special effects like echoing and such. Some songs sound totally different live because of it like Curse of the Pharaohs, and then I guess its up to you to decide whether you like it live or not but for me, more times then not a live song just feels different then the over produced album version and I usually end up loving both versions of the same song.

Exactly. In fact, I like buying live albums of band I already know quite well, because it gives me an occasion to hear somewhat different versions of songs I already like + getting to listen to some unreleased songs in studio.
