Thoughts on album of 2006 so far? Or has that topic been done to death already?
I'd say either the new Keep of Kalessin or Enslaved take my vote, though KoK's vocals bothered me and the new Enslaved seemed somewhat inconsistent.

Anyway... Miasma, Eucharist, Autumn Leaves, Atheist, The Chasm, Torture Squad, Arghoslent, Destroyer 666, Blind Guardian, Death, Celtic Frost, Ensiferum, Grave Digger, Nocturnal Rites, Kreator, Priest, Summoning, blah blah blah... all huge faves.

GChrist - I'm sorry I haven't heard your song yet, I havent had the time to give it a good listen and I still don't... Later today or tomorrow.

I have no fav for 2006 yet (in the metal genre, but Tool is a frontrunner for every genre, damn they're good...but, I digress), but 2005, for me, was a kickass year. It broke two genres for me (fast-paced Black metal in 1349's Hellfire, and kickass melodic death in Dark Tranquillity's Character) and got me where I am today, so I really don't know...

As for band news, Misguided(planning to change the name soon) is going to have its very first live show this Saturday. It's my first time onstage with a band of my own and the feeling is... tingling... We're the opening band so we're going to set the stakes high for everyone else! :D

Well , if they do, they're bound to wake up soon enough! ;) I've also written some lyrics, but they're nothing too great... time will tell what our own songs are gonna sound like. I'd say something between Dream Theater, Metallica and Deep Purple... but there's no telling, other than they ARE going to have clean vocals(as long as I'm the singer).

Don't seem to be much of any albums released so far... as everybody knows, my 2005 votes went to Hellfire, Blood Inside, Catch 33 and Attera Totus Sanctus.

GChrist - I am still getting a feel for the song, but my first reaction is that it is... excellent. I love the ambient parts, it sounds like a great improvement over earlier stuff (not that earlier stuff was bad, this is just better). You can hear your influences in the guitar, but it is done well and it sounds original, plus it kicks ass. The lyrics are very much on point. A very solid track...I'll speak more of it after I get a few more spins in.

and Ghoul, I listened to your track, I like it, I really enjoyed the blasting and I was especially fond of your clean vocals. Did it take you some time to train your vocal chords or did your voice sound like that naturally?

Well I'm trying to get into more bands than just one, because was only in to Iced Earth and Metallica, and this is turning out to be quite the good thing.
I listened to Lamb of God for the first time (I waited way to long!) and that was really, really great music!

I had quite long hair, cut it, and now it's half-long again. My hair grows very fast.
