Is it me or Cannibal Corpse is not as shity as before?
I mean, they have stopped to talk about rape, sex and violence. and they sound a bit better.

Yeah, tracks like "Five Nails Through the Neck" or "Brain Removal Device" do sound absolutely non-violent... :P I liked what I heard from the album so far.

Ghoul, I'll check your recommendations out :) thanks

I say you're paranoid.

GOOD NEWS: Darkblood's drummer, Ymir, just finished all his 7 songs for the upcoming full length, to which I am producing and drummed a song for. The song titles are tentative, because the vocals haven't been sung yet, and 3 songs still need guitars, and 5 need bass. But progress is being made. It's really beautiful, yet minimalist black metal. It's cold and grim, yet not complete shit. It's like little shards of harmony creeping up from very fragile planes of sound, with the drums providing a backing wall and cushion for the guitars, which push up against the sound of the drums. The vocals are going to be very sharp, instead of being dull and weak. No flaccid vocals.

MORE GOOD NEWS: I have some photographs to look at. I went to Salt Point over the weekend, so if anybody wants to use some nature photographs for some pretty fucking viking album art, ask me. I got a LOT!!

EVEN MORE GOOD NEWS: I'm making Kali Yuga/Cocytus and Kali Yuga/Darkblood T-shirts, which are black with the KY logo on back, and the Cocytus or Darkblood logo on front. They come in S, M, L, or XL. I'll have them available sometime next week or the week after that.

BAD NEWS: My cymbal pad on my Vdrum kit quit working the other day. I have to send it in to get fixed or replaced.

MORE BAD NEWS: Uh... I think that's it.

Well, Cannibal Corpse toned it down a bit. Though Death metal isn't supposed to be all happy like Power Metal. Also, saying Death Metal sicks, because most of it has lyrical themes of Rape, Sex, Violence, Etc. is like saying Power Metal sucks, because it's lyrical themes are about, Fantasy, Sci-fi, Etc.

Oh damn guys, I just listened to Sodom's new, selftitled album and I'm quite disappointed. Get "M-16" instead.

Mr. Ghoul, in how many projects are you involved? I play the guitar but I have never been in a band before.

I like the both of them, Power Metal and Death Metal. But I dislike music that have to much violence in their lyrics. I know that Death Metal have to be violent, or it wouldnt be named that way. I hate to see shits like: I cum blood or stripped, raped and strangled. its making me sick.

I finally listened to some Hypocrisy seriously yesterday.
My friend is really trying to find undiscovered metal bands, not that Hypocrisy is undiscovered, but he got he's gotten his hands on an album.
Great stuff!

Cheers to my friend! He's found some nice things through the years.

Incoherent text here.

Hypocrisy is the only thing left connecting me to the death metal scene. Into the Abyss and the self titled are my 2 favourite albums ever. Ever.
I like them so much I could masturbate to em, fuck man, I want their crispy clean, sharp guitar sound too D;

snore

Cannibal Corpse is cheesy in such a bad way. I understand their popularity and despite some above-average vocals, its very average music.

Hypocracy's Virus is awesome. If you like thier old stuff, go buy it.

I love Immortal....MUAHAHAHAH

lessee... check the metal archives, and that + 1. Lessee, Asgarður, Kali Yuga (midian), Black Death, Skogstroll, Cocytus, Rectal Cannon, that's 6 projects. SkogsTroll, Cocytus, and Rectal Cannon are the least active of them all. I think SkogsTroll is about over, and Cocytus (Will and I) haven't recorded anything in a while, whereas Rectal Cannon is kinda on hold. Asgarður, as you know, is symphonic vikingish black metal, Kali Yuga is experimental blackened electronic metal, Black Death is thrash influenced black metal, Cocytus is melodic black metal, Rectal Cannon is grindcore, and SkogsTroll is folk metal.

I think the better question is who cares? Nu-metal is dumb, nu-metal fans are dumb, true metal rules. End of story.

I've been over this topic so many times I really can't bother to go on much longer... In short:

Disturbed = Hard Rock

Nü Metal = Rap Hard Rock

Disturbed = NOT Nü Metal

Nü Metal = Not Metal = Not to be discussed here.

Hard Rock = Not Metal = Not to be discussed here.

Any questions?

If you like the more ridiculous, funny as hell but not so metal Gwar, get Scumdogs of the Universe or This Toilet Earth. If you want the more musically sound, thrashy, but still funny as hell Gwar, get Violence Has Arrived.
