It's because Slipknot is HEAVY ROCK, not Metal. System of A DOwn is considered rock music, yet both have major similarites. PapRoach, Adema, and Linkin park are considered Rock, yet they also have major similarites to Slipknot. Hence, Slipknot = Rock.

ok thats the weirdest thing i've ever heard in my live... wtf?? slipknot heavy rock?? there really no heavy rock, and they (almost) dont have similarites with linkin park, like LP differce so much with Slipknot, you really cant compare slipknot with linkin park.. i dont know about paparoach and adema, but they really dont make music what looks like the music LP makes......

Another name for Heavy Rock is Nu-metal. Nu-metal varies. Maybe you should do a little more reseach. I have one question for you. Do you like rap/Hip Hop? I am asking this because Nu-Metal bands like SLipknot are influenced with Rap/Hip hop.

I hat that genre anyway, but it's true. Nu-Metal is Influenced by Hip Hop. Maybe you should join the Nu-Metal/Metalcore crew.

It has to be REAL Metal. Not nu-Metal, which isn't Metal at all.

You know he's still going to question why he can't join this club. Anyway, I went to my local CD store, and I find CoB in the Rock/Pop section. I'm wondering what the hell it's doing in there. Stupid people who sort the CDs in sections. >:(

because Numetal isn't metal. It's mislabeled, it's really just heavy rock. So go to the Numetal/metalcore crew and QUIT BUGGING US!

Response to Metal Hell 2006-02-11 17:36:58

slipknot is numetal or metalcore, NOT metal. i used to be a slipknot fan, shit, it was duffeknol that turned me onto real metal in the "slipknot scares christians" thread (thanks again man), now i just dont mind them, and that list you were given, i suggest you listen to every single one of those bands, it will show you the folly of your maggot ridden ways. i own about half of those bands' records, and believe you me, they make slipknot look like the talentless bunch of clowns they are.

Ditto...Some kids don't know when to quit. I wouldn't qualify slipknot as good even if they taped themselves ending thier pitiful careers. Such trash.

Its snowing here. Snow = shoveling = cash = cds. I should be getting some new ones before the end of the week.

Joey Jordison left Anal Blast(Grindcore band ) and joined Slipknot. I wonder why he did that. He was better off with Anal Blast rather than Slipknot.

Before I used to like Nu-Metal and Metalcore, a long time ago. I never knew that they wer actaully called that until, someguy from Norway on a forum pointed that out to me. I started to listen to real Metal. Then Nu-Metal, and Metalcore started to sound like uttershit.

Response to Metal Hell 2006-02-11 22:24:05

I never listened to Numetal, nor did I ever listen to metalcore. Number one, nobody knew what metalcore was when I discovered Cannibal Corpse. I basically went from Alice in Chains and Soundgarden (when I was 11 and 12) to GnR and a bunch of other 80's bands to Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Autopsy, Dismember to Mayhem, Marduk, Gorgoroth, Dark Funeral, Cradle of Filth, Borknagar, Immortal and Emperor. Since then I've broadened my tastes, but as you can see, I have almost no respect or comprehending for Metalcore and Numetal, since I've never liked it, and I've even LISTENED TO IT and not liked it. I don't regard either as being really metal (though Metalcore is more metal than numetal.) Hence my viewpoint.

Response to Metal Hell 2006-02-11 22:31:42

I started with Rammstein, after that one of my friends sent me some Nile and Arch Enemy and Abaddon Incarnate. That made me get into metal immediately.
But ever since then I've been narrowing my tastes, I only listen to a SUPER select amount of music... I can't think of more than 4 bands I like more than 5 songs of <_<

Lol welfare in america sucks. You can have it for 5 years total, and only 2 years at a time. It sucks.

O.o It was working fine until they cut the funding for it and gave it to corporations like ConAgra...

Anywho, off of politics, I think I'm gonna make Asgarður's song for the compilation a very clean and well produced song. And Kali Yuga's will be half original, half a cover of Seven Tears Are Flowing To The River.

lets see... when i was four years old i liked *cough* aerosmith *cough* for about a year, considering my dad is one of those 70's and 80's arena rock/ classic rock guys. after that i liked what was on the radio for a while (kid rock (gah...) rage against the machine (still like em, just because their songs have a certain personal importance to me) the rest...) umm... about the time system of a down's toxicity came out in like 99 or 2000, i instantly became a hardcore system fan. this led me to some people that were into other stuff like rammstein, which is still good, and other bands like that. then i got into slipknot for a while, and i also was introduced to some good bands like children of bodom and into eternity, then came the "slipknot scares christians" thread, which occurred the same day that i recieved an extensive ban, and slipknot got a bit old, so i decided to use my good friend the internet to look up some real metal bands. it was at this point about 3 weeks ago that i discovered real music. i had been relatively deprived before then, but system of a down is still one of my top bands. there is one metalcore band that i like though, lamb of god, mainly because they can make a bitchin' song.

long story short: i have a past.
