sorry havnt posted in a few pages :P.
just thaught i would hop in this for a second.
ghoul, your music is fine. its lo fi BM tho...so your just not gonna attract a big audience. and there is nothing wrong with a drum machine. actually drum machines can sound exactly like real drums if you know how to use them properly.
Still... it's annoying robotic.
about the production argument! i do agree that ghoul maybe you should clean it up a bit. Even bands like mayhem that used to have the really lo fi wash out production are now moving on to use more clean and better sounding things. :( and i cant believe you said goratory has shit production.
Clean production IS shit production in my mind. It takes no imagination to do. It always leaves me feeling as if I'm watching a Ken Burns documentary. I prefer having a production that reminds me of the vast, icy, abysses and deep cataclysms of the underworld, or the incredible majesty and greatness of the pagan forest. I don't want the production to sound like it was made in the studio. That's shit production. Anyways, Goratory has always mixed the bass in too high.
meh..thats really all i have to say. i hate to pick a side like this..but ghoul you are being kinda unreasonable on a few things..
Nah. I stand by everything I said. I prefer black metal to be gritty, dirty, washed over, and whatnot. And there are STILL bands who go for the lo-fi thing, and I'm one of them. As a funny afterthought, though, Kali Yuga actually has a production about 1000x cleaner than most of my other stuff.
