This discussion has been done multiple times and it's been established over and over that Slipknot is nu metal, which is not considered to be real metal in this thread. Again, I'm a big fan of Slipknot, but they are not metal in any way shape or form. If you're going to trust Wikipedia for factual music genres, that's not going to work. You should look at metal archives instead, and metal archives doesn't have them listed.

And NightRaid, I'm not one of the four horsemen here but you are supposed to list 10 metal bands you like to post here.

Yeah, you beat me to it. I was gonna mention the only long-time users still active on here that I know and it's all the ones you listed. The other 2 horsemen I don't even think go on here anymore. It's not like any of us are moderators, but we've been here long enough to know the rules established by this thread and enforce them to new users that aren't aware of them.

You continue to post in here stupid stuff like this without having a clue of what crust punk actually is while blatantly ignoring the thread that I (and other people) keep directing you to. If you don't know, crust punk is a dark and extreme type of music derived from metal (a lot of the time black metal & thrash) and hardcore punk, involving stuff like d-beats.

A genre is defined by it's core elements, and it just so happens that the core elements of nu-metal really just aren't metal. They are hard rock and hardcore, and if there is anything metal in the music, it's generally more in the drumming then anything else. But if you're going to use ska/punk drumming in a track that is otherwise pure black metal, than you're indeed not playing punk, you're playing black metal.
