Metallica just dropped their newest album, what do you guys think about it? 8 years between Death Magnetic and Hardwired! Crazy, ugh? Especially considering that 8 years is pretty much the time lapse that Metallica took to release their first five albums, Kill Em' All, Ride The Lightning, Master Of Puppets, And Justice For All and the black album.

Seems like the project to adapt the book Lords Of Chaos into a movie is still going on! This video is a good proof of that. I know it sparked debates, especially among the black metal community, that a movie like this was going to be made about the early years of Mayhem and Norwegian black metal in the early 90's. What do you guys think of it?

I personnally think that the video looks like a parody, and I think that if the movie is going to be anything like that videoclip, then it's just gonna end up looking like a very bad joke. And I've always felt that doing justice to this very disturbing story that is behind the early years of the second wave of black metal in Norway would not be an easy task. I don't know how this story can be told in a way that won't make it look like a parody of the real events.

I checked it out when it came out, I love 4 or 5 of the tracks on it, but the rest are kind of meh. My favorite song on it probably is Moth into Flame. Speaking of thrash, lately I've been listening to Vektor, awesome band.

Fuck yes. I fuckin love Bolt Thrower. I listen to them every now and then but I think it's time that I start listening to them regularly, it doesn't get any better than that when it comes to OSDM. Sad that the drummer died last year and the band split up, but they have enough gems out there to last me.

I've been meaning to listen to the whole thing, and I was quite excited by the singles, like Hardwired and especially Moth Into Flames, but when the album came out, I listened to manUNkind's video, and not only was the track pretty meh, but the video was kind of annoying two. Yes, BT are awesome. Only have their last three albums, but "Mercenary" is a perfect album. Especially "No guts, no glory". Really glad that I got to see them live once, since their live shows where pretty rare to begin with. And yes, they DID play "No guts, no glory" during the encore. :)

Just checked out that album "Mercenary". As far as OSDM goes it's just pure perfection. Fuck. I love that brutal old school sound, I really hate how death metal today has become so technical and computer sounding. Prog death nowadays makes me want to puke.

Yeah, no shit, Wikipedia is wrong about music genres. I thought most people would have understood this by now. They're extremely bad at that. Slipknot is so-called "nu-metal", which is a shitty, misleading term for having the word "metal" in it. They're hardcore. Not metal. We have been over this again and again and again. I enjoy some "nu-metal" myself, such as Mudvayne and Flaw. There's a club for that, if you guys want to breathe some life into it.
