I don't know if you've been keeping up with em but it was crazy. Him and his girlfriend got into a motorcycle accident when someone blew a stop sign and hit em. The driver wasn't injured badly as far as I know but him and his girlfriend were. She less so than him and she was fine afterwards. He got most of the impact and was rushed to the hospital where he was put into a medically induced coma. The doctors were telling the rest of the band and his family that he had suffered from irreparable brain damage and there was next to no chance he'd recover. And just today he died. They're planning on donating his organs and having him cremated as were his wishes.

No, I had no idea about the accident. I just learned of his death from your second post.

I hope the dipshit who ran the sign gets punished. Some people just have to drive like fucking assholes. My sister is always checking her texts while driving. Like FFS, it can wait. Keep your eyes peeled and pay all of your attention on the road. ugh.

Same with my sister. She also has a habit of fucking turning and looking at someone when they're talking to her when shes driving. I mean really. Is it THAT hard to talk and NOT look at them while you're driving? I've been driving less than she has and I literally 0 problem with this.

Went to a pretty bitchin' show tonight. I saw Conjuring Fate again, who are a seriously underrated local band. They were supporting for some guys called Maverick who I'd never heard of before. They're kind of like a Guns n Roses style hard rock group. Not really my thing musically but they had some great energy.

Oh, that's pretty cool :)
Hooded Menace - Never Cross the Dead
I have this record on my computer, still haven't given it a listen. But I will soon :)
Thorr's Hammer - Dommedagsnatt
It's pretty sad that these musicians didn't stay together. It was a good project with quite a lot of potential!
The Gathering - Mandylion
I just discovered I had some of this band's material on my computer. Just one track they recorded with Garm from Ulver. It's also pretty good. I might give one of their full-lenght a listen in the near future.
Burning Witch - Crippled Lucifer
Drone doom, right?
Electric Wizard - Witchcult Today
Child of Dunwich rise! End the world that you despise!
Church of Misery - The Second Coming
I've heard a lot of good about his band, but I still have never given a listen to any of their material.
Corrupted - Paso Inferior
I have two of their records, I've just added this record to my library. I still haven't listened to the album.
Melvins - Gluey Porch Treatments
I need more of Melvins music. It's awesome :)
Deep Purple - Machine Head
Uhhh, really?
Reverend Bizarre - In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend
The only RB album I have, sadly. I think it's awesome, but one of my friends says that the other two are better.
Warning - Watching From A Distance
Good album, but I wouldn't have placed it that high in the list (I'm assuming that the list goes from the 100th place to the 1st, right?)
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Generals gathered in their masses! Just like witches at black masses! Awesome :)
Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
Hell, fucking yeah! This album is a milestone of music, not just doom metal. It's ambitious, heavy, killer, unforgiving! I simply love it :)
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
Amazing album, from the first second to the last. Great stuff :)
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Haha :P Not a surprise!

I know right? But but they had a pretty good reason for breaking up I guess. Though they could attempt to get back together.
Burning Witch - Crippled LuciferDrone doom, right?
Yeah
Electric Wizard - Witchcult TodayChild of Dunwich rise! End the world that you despise!
I was actually surprised to see this up in the 80s. It's a pretty good album.
Church of Misery - The Second ComingI've heard a lot of good about his band, but I still have never given a listen to any of their material.
Really? I'd give Master of Brutality a spin before this. And maybe Thy Kingdom Scum afterwards. Really good Japanese Doom Metal. All their lyrics are inspired by serial killers.
Corrupted - Paso InferiorI have two of their records, I've just added this record to my library. I still haven't listened to the album.
I've been meaning to give them a listen. I've had a metal archives tabs of them open for I don't know how long.
Melvins - Gluey Porch TreatmentsI need more of Melvins music. It's awesome :)
Yeah me too. Though that's because I lost all of my Melvins when my old external hard drive decided to die on me. Though I got a copy of Hostile Ambient Takeover for christmas last year so I'm working my way back to what I had before.
Deep Purple - Machine HeadUhhh, really?
Yeah.....
Reverend Bizarre - In the Rectory of the Bizarre ReverendThe only RB album I have, sadly. I think it's awesome, but one of my friends says that the other two are better.
It's a good album. Though I personally prefer III.

Yeah me neither. And yeah its 100-1. This also reminded me of Bahamut for obvious reasons.

Honestly my favorite Sabbath album.
Also Lord Dying are releasing a new album next year. Pre-orders are now available here.

There is three Electric Wizard in there total, that's not so bad :P However, there should definitely be more Bongripper in there. They might be a little too "young" of a band right now for people to realize just how fucking amazing they are, but that will eventually sink in. It definitely should.

Nah. Singer was an exchange student and had to move back to Norway. Thoigh they have gotten back together back in like 2009 but I don't know what happened with that.

Hmm okay. Once I can get internet access back on my computer I'll check em out.

Yeah I guess. Though they have bother Pallbearer albums and they've been around less than Bongripper has.
I actually didn't catch that reference in Bahamut's old username until now. That album being brought up made me think of Nev. He would rave about Warning. Also recall him being crazy about Dystopia. I still never gave those a good listen. Woops. And yeah, that makes no sense putting Deep Purple there, as great as they were. Also, where's Ufomammut? Lame.

Ten favorite metal bands?
So I have a bad habit of popping in, posting here and forgetting about it, I won't do that this time. When I was younger I was constantly looking for new bands, checking out new stuff, trying to find the "best" of each respective genre and just listen to that. To that end, I've been pretty much successful. For the past year or two I haven't really cared to look up new bands aside from a few exceptions which Metal Hell had recommended, so whenever I checked the thread I didn't have much of anything substantive to say. Recently I've been hugely into both Rotting Christ and Sigh, my 99 Honda Accord stereo doesn't have an auxiliary so I'm back to buying cd's, and man do I wish I had gotten into both of them sooner. Thy Mighty Contract was decent, but when it shines it's amazing. So I picked up Non Serviam and that album is perfect from start to finish. I also grabbed Scorn Defeat just on a whim because I remember you guys going on about Sigh and that was pretty good too, so I picked up Hangmans Hymn and that album is also perfect start to finish. It's crazy to think that back in the day these guys in Japan were making some seriously cool and unique black metal and were signed to Euronymous' label. I wonder sometimes what the norwegian dudes must have thought of them, haha. I also looked into Peste Noire again because Bruce was all about them back in the day and they're amazing as well, I remember the first time I heard them I immediately shut it off because of how harsh it was but La Sanie is like a masterpiece to me now. Through Peste Noire I listened to Aorlhac and they're great too, you should check out this link if you like Peste Noire.

This is a song from my old guitar teacher's band. They had some success in Germany during the 80's and went on tour with Twisted Sister :) kind of thrash metal craziness.
I personally find a significant portion of their tunes a bit cheesy, but some of you Metal connoisseurs might dig it.

Haven't seen you in forever. Welcome back. You already have Hangman's Hymn, so I think I'd go for Imaginary Sonicscape. As for Rotting Christ, I often go back to tracks from Theogonia, Aelo and Kronos. I haven't been checking out new music in a long time either. Mostly just podcasts for me lately when I want to listen to something.

Iced Earth, KoRn, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Exodus, Rage against the machine, Hellyeah, Mudvayne, Skindred, Helloween.

That's tough, man. I might personally pick Theogonia, but I'm really not sure. I think Ghoul would have said Khronos and I could be wrong, but I think Gory would say Triarchy of Lost Lovers. I honestly don't remember Triarchy so I should relisten. As far as podcasts, I started from the beginning with Hollywood Babble On and Jay and Silent Bob Get Old about two years ago and have been keeping up since. I've also listened to most of the SModcast podcast. I'll listen to any Nerdist, You Made it Weird and Chewin' it episode that has a decent guest but I tend to skip it if I don't know who the person is. I use the seesmod channel on YouTube for Babble On cuz they have a lot of visual bits you don't get to see and seesmod edits all that stuff in there so you can see. For Get Old and SModcast, they embed Soundcloud uploads of every episode on the SModcast website. And the Nerdist website hosts all the episodes of the Nerdist, Chewin' it and You Made it Weird. Rather than listen to music, I usually listen to this stuff on my phone at night while I play a game. It's all pretty mobile friendly, though booyoutube makes YouTube uploads better.
There really is no best Rotting Christ album as far as I'm concerned. Whenever the subject comes up, I prefer to talk about my favorite songs which goes from some of their oldest to some of their newest. A couple of my most favorite songs of theirs do happen to be on Triarchy of the Lost Lovers and those are Archon and King of a Stellar War. Both have accrued many plays over many years. Other good ones: In Domine Sathana, If It Ends Tomorrow, The Call of the Aethyrs, Athanati Este, Full Colour Is the Night, Among Two Storms...there are more but these are just the ones I tend to listen to first out of habit. Athanati Este, probably the most. It sucks that I couldn't make it to see them again when they swung by here in September but I can count on them coming back in about another year.
