And to be honest if Butler was out as well as Ward I don't know if I'd want to go see Black Sabbath live again if it were just Ozzy and Tony with two other people. Though I did like Tommy Clufetos' drumming.
If they went ahead without Geezer should they do another album or just tour as Black Sabbath? I mean Black Sabbath minus Butler has had some of the same "charm" as Black Sabbath with Butler but the lyrics leave a lot to be desired.

Also a bit of Black Sabbath news. Bill Ward is working on a new solo album. It's apparently been finished for the most part but it still needs some more done with it before its completely done.

Ya know, I'd been meaning to check them out for the longest time and I finally got around to listening to them like a week ago and I can honestly say I didn't like what I heard. I mean I can see why other people would like them. But I just could not get into it.

Their first album 'Oracles' and and their first EP 'Mafia', are both masterpieces with astounding guitar work, aggressive drumming and vocals, with a kind of a neoclassical approach to their sound, which made them an unique group and one of my favourite bands, but their last two albums are utter shit, instead of using guitars to make music, all they do is some wankery with symphonic arrangements, so I just won't recommend those.

Oracle and Mafia were awesome. I haven't heard anything else.

Their first album, Oracles is an absolute masterpiece of modern death metal. It mixes tech death with classical elements.

Their second album, Agony... was kind of boring... a step back... It focuses way too much on orchestration, and by orchestration I mean keys... a lot of them, and not much memorable guitar riffs...

I have yet to listen to the third album.

It's not really as "Hard and Heavy" as their previous stuff (suffice it to say its kinda "poppy" compared to their other stuff). But its still not that bad.

Also in addition to the new song Jared Warren bassist of the Melvins has written a "biography" for the band that I found pretty funny.

I've known Red Fang for a long time — from before their very humble beginnings in 1972, even. I knew them in the early days when they were grody dirt wizards that you never wanted to see with their shirts off. But there we were in Teeksville, Vermont, at 4 a.m. After literally burning the club to the ground following their poorly attended set, I'm pounding on the door of the cutest little bed and breakfast you've ever laid eyes on with a very drunk and hungry Red Fang demanding a pancake breakfast — topless.

In the years since, a few things have changed: The band successfully rescued guitarist David Sullivan from a hoarding situation (featured on the "If The House Is a Rockin'..." episode of Hoarders),bassist/vocalist Aaron Beam received his master's degree in the Smooooth Sciences, guitarist/vocalist Bryan Giles started the world’s first 100-perecent anti-organic farm in his kitchen, and drummer John Sherman has climbed Mt. Everest in the nude, making him only the third person ever to do so. And none of them wets the bed anymore!

That's just the stuff that's been on the news. They've also been touring the world like mad, playing to thousands of sweaty, hygienically-challenged maniacs at festivals and non-ventilated venues alike. They've made several award-winning music videos that have lots and lots of views because they're hilarious and awesome. Then this spring, they jogged 14 miles round trip to the studio everyday for 666 days and recorded a new record called Whales and Leeches.

I caught up with guitarist Bryan Giles at his neighborhood coffee shop shortly after the band recorded Whales and Leeches and asked him what their influences were while recording the new material. Giles took a slow drink of his perfectly frothed cafe latte and thoughtfully replied, "What are you, a fucking cop?" Looking for a little more insight, I asked how he thought the band had grown since their last record. He replied, "I don't know who the fuck you are, man. If you don't stop bothering me, you're going to be eating that fucking iPad!" It's clear that there's a lot of excitement about Whales and Leeches in the Red Fang camp.

You're probably not saying to yourself, "So they kind of have their shit together, big deal! What does Whales and Leeches sound like?" because you're not reading this anymore. You've already started listening to the record, or you've decided you're more concerned with whether Bon Iver is still a thing or not. On the off chance that you're a college paper writer hungry for the red-hot scoop, here's some things to know about their new record that you should already be listening to and forming your own opinions about:

The record sounds very excellent and professional, you can tell that they've been practicing their instruments. Their songs sound more thought-out and trippier. Bryan and Aaron sound like they've gotten better at singing. Every song has a riff you like. Mike Scheidt from YOB sings on a song, so you're gonna like that. It sounds more mature, like good cheese or your Aunt Sharon. Do you want me to keep rubbing your ear crotch? Sorry, I'm kind of a tease! You're just going to have to take a few minutes to listen and let Red Fang's filthy hands take the wheel, then come up with your own adjectives and opinions. I think it's a great record and they're going to make folks proud. I hope they don't get all famous and stuck up and then the VH1 special and, oh Christ.

When reflecting on what the future might hold for Red Fang, I think drummer John Sherman slurred it best: "wchhy are yooo solllannngmm? Let's maake ths sitchoo-ashun AWESome!" You said it, John. This is definitely the year for Red Fang.

Checked them out. I have to say you are 100% correct on Oracles. Absolutely incredible, as soon as I pushed play I was impressed. I had to listen to the whole album in one setting and was not disapointed at all, its practicly flawless.

Then Agony started, I listened for awhile and it just got duller and duller and I had to stop. Its a real shame honestly I dont know why they got I donno the word "weaker" I guess?

Regardless I love this band or at least Oracles lol

Oracles is absolutely phenomenal. Retrieving My Carcass is one of my all time favorites death metal tracks!

It's a weird album, if you ask me. It shows their interest of moving into a more symphonic brand of death metal while retaining some of the good elements of Oracles. It's good, but some parts feels, at least to me, like a cluster of different noises and sounds that doesn't necessarly feel right together. A little like their newest album Labyrinth, which seems to try to be both Oracles and Agony at the same time. I've tried listening to the album and felt that it was saturated... but not the Origin or Infernal Stronghold kind of "saturated" music. Just a "weird mix of ideas" saturated. I don't have better words to explain it right now. But bottom line... the album got really annoying to my ears really fast. Mafia is better as it seems to have kept a little more focus on the guitars, like they did with Oracles, but I don't think the tracks are in anyway as memorable as the tracks on Oracles.

Stoned Jesus have released part one of a possible set of multiple "albums" worth of material that are going to be used as a type of fundraiser thing for their 3rd album. It's titled "The Seeds, Vol.1"
Long story short. They've kept a recorder with them since their first rehearsals with their new drummer and they have TONS of jams recorded on it. So they're slowly going to be releasing all of them in the form of more "Seeds" Volumes. Since they're all just jams they do not have names, they're just numbers.
If you want to check out "The Seeds, Vol. 1" you can listen to it on their bandcamp page.
It's actually pretty good for only being jams.

So apparently High On Fire are releasing a new single on the 16th of next month titled "Slave The Hive".

And em... I didn't know Limp Bizkit still existed... and I don't understand how they are managing to get actual metal bands to tour with them. No offense, but I think LB was pretty just a fad that died in the 90's. A kind of mix of hard rock with a kind of agressive rap attitude mixed in the lot. Nowadays, I don't think there is still much people to argue that they are a part of the metal scene. It's not that their music is totaly void of interest, but IMO it didn't age very well.

In Manchester, Obscura and Darkrise are supporting them. I know Chuck's not there but I was like 13 when he died so I never had the chance to see him anyway. This is as good as I'll ever get.

It's the Kerrang tour, and tickets are just £20 ($31). Loads of my friends are going and while Limp Bizkit are musically awful, they played a pivotal role in my evolution to a metalhead.

I absolutely adore it, and all of their albums. And Amesours and Les Discrets, Neige is a genius. I have got to listen to every band he has ever played in.
