Apparently Ghost are releasing a cover EP later this year.
I'm curious as to how this is going to sound. Considering I like their covers of Here Comes The Sun and I'm A Marionette.
Though they haven't said what songs are going to be covered yet.

I like it for that reason. However, I feel it does require some focus on the overall music which can seem contradictionary when you're wanting to listen to music that you can just relax to and yet it has some musical focus required for the experience. :P
Btw does anyone know what the fuck the meaning of "The Mighty Masturbater" is? Me and my buddy have no idea lol
You're dealing with Devin Townsend here. Just thought I'd remind you since I honestly doubt many people can understand his mind as a whole but the way he is has made him able to create awesome music so I ought to take that blessing for granted.

I like Devy's stuff. I like Ki and Addicted! the best. Deconstruction is still good though.
And I'm guessing the point of TMM is that his purpose in life is to beat off. And that's it. Forever alone.

I've just bought three Sigh albums on eBay. Haha! I felt I needed to have these albums in my collection, Sigh is such an amazing band :)

While we are at it, why don't you guys rank Sigh's albums from favorite to least favorite (excluding does you don't know or do not know enough to judge) so I can know what the Metal Hell thinks of Sigh's discography?
That would be nice :)
I have all of Sigh's albums and they're all good. I think my favorites are Hangman's Hymn and Imaginary Sonicscape. I don't know how I'd rank them all, though.
Since I'm fairly certain I'm not the only fan of them here Black Tusk have released a new song off their upcoming EP Tend No Wounds.
You can listen to Internal/External here.
Also Relapse are reissuing Surrounded By Thieves, Blessed Black Wings, and Death Is This Communion on vinyl.
Any of you guys ever saw that beast?
Heavy Metal (1981)
I might just have to watch it for cultural purposes. I do not hope for a great movie, but I'll most likely try to find a way to watch it :)

that's a classic film, not exactly a masterpiece but it has great music and lots of hot women and gore.

You still haven't seen that? It's awesome and funny. I've loved it since I was like 13 or 14. I still have issue #1 of Heavy Metal Magazine in perfect condition.

To be honest I've only seen bits of that. Never the whole thing from beginning to end.

I think it's more of an element of the american metal sub-culture. I'm not sure, but I don't think it's as well-known to other metal communities around the world. I'll try to see it, then :)

Funny thing, Heavy Metal Magazine was born out of the French magazine, Metal Hurlant.

Something like that.

It's a very interesting film, definitely worth a watch.

They started as a black metal band. Their first full-lenght Scorn Defeat was released on Deathlike Silence, the label created by Euronymous of Mayhem. It's a great black metal album. I've written a review for it on MA.
They are an avant-garde black metal band. Their earlier days were more focused on the black metal aspects, and they became crazier and more avant-gardist with time. Their whole library is amazing, really. Their guitarist Shinichi is one my all time favorite musicians!

So I just downloaded the majority of Burzum and Ulver's discography today
Burzum came with the Gummo soundtrack which I'm listening to right now
Does anyone know where I can find War of the Roses? That seems to have been the only album by Ulver that wasn't in there.
also that name reminds me of a Yugioh game I played for the PS2 called Duelist of the Roses which had to do with the actual War of the Roses.
Sorry for the double post but its my 6,666th post and I felt like posting here for it.
Now with that in mind I was curious.
What 5 bands could you recommend me (i'm not looking for any specific genre of metal) out of your favorite bands?

Out all of those I listen to Alcest and I think I've heard stuff by Arcturus. I'll check out the others though.

I'll check out Cynic and Behighted then (after I finish listening to Death).

Good choice my mang. I particularly love Rotting Christ's mid-career stuff where they took on a slight gothic/industrial influence.

I know I've listened to Virus, Ihsahn, and I wanna say Solefald because you posted some stuff by them in that Post music, rate the one above! thread. And I've heard some stuff by Rotting Christ. But I didn't really start listening to stuff by them til I heard them cover a song for a Black Sabbath tribute album for Metal band from Greece.
