I noticed. Maybe it's called "Time" because we've been waiting for a HELLA long ass time for it to come out.
I feel I have now listened to a new discovery of mine, A Forest of Stars, enough to give a solid 9/10. It's really weird, alternating between black metal, psychedelic rockish black metal, psychedelic ambience, and even using unconventional percussion instruments. This is truly outstanding psychedelic black metal.

This is just my first listen (A Prophet For A Pound Of Flesh), and while it didn't interest me a whole lot at first, I kept listening. More and more instruments and sounds were added, and now I'm really impressed by this one song. Even if all of their songs probably don't have an amazing flute part like this song does, I'm definitely checking this band out!

Hey, a drinking game can be done for each time a metalhead makes a Time joke.

Sounds like you know a lot about psychadelic black metal as if it's well familiar to you. I know... not so much of it. I should look into it.
So I was (and still am) listening to Blues For The Red Sun and my sister comes into my room and asks
"Are you listening to Metallica?"
To which I just sat there staring at her with an incredibly confused look on my face.

I have to give my dad some credit. He at least tries out what I have. Recently he's been enjoying some Iced Earth. Hell, he even listened to Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine and liked it.

My parents are a lot into classical and jazz music, but not really into metal. I've managed to get my parents to listen to some of my stuff anyway and they keep a rather open-mind toward it. Especially seing how much I love music and how well I can defend my positions when it comes to music.
I remember making them listen to some of my stuff like the album Focus by Cynic. My father listened to the whole thing. I don't know if he liked it or not though. I know I can reach my parents through progressive metal since them like some old progressive rock like Genesis, Supertramp, King Crimson and Gentle Giant.

My dad has already made up his mind that he doesn't like what I listen to.
The ONLY thing hes mildly okay with is the album Seven Thunders Roar by Stoned Jesus.

My dad is kinda eh on it. I do introduce him to stuff like Cynic, Tool, Manilla Road, Symphony X, Dream Theater, and Devin Townsend (Like Synchestra or Terria) and he enjoys it. But he can't really stand the more extreme subgenres. He'll give me a hard time, but he is ok with me listening to it.
Proud Demon residing in the METAL HELL!

Anyone here listen to Atolah?
Props to anyone who knows what the sound clip thing in the beginning is from.
Greetings my fellow Metal Brothers. I have question for all. We have listen to many Bands and many of their songs. What song has your favorite solo and name the band that performed the song. mine would The solo from One by MetallicA.
Its metallica, the a is lower case. And it would be Kick The Chair by Megadeth.
Thats cool. Oh and i know metallica has a lower case i just made it upper case

I don't have a favorite solo.
Also I can play all of the solos in One ._.
It makes me feel proud of myself even though they are INSANELY easy.....

Yeah, my dad's not so much into the extreme subgenres. Well, depends what you define extreme metal as. Mostly black and death metal as well as some doom metal he's not going to enjoy. Progressive metal is probably his favourable metal subgenre considering he called Dream Theater the best he's heard from my music. Right now, though, he is onto Lost Horizon and Slough Feg so he's gonna have a blast there.

I totally read that you put ye into that sentence and I was going to make fun of you for it. Then I realised you didn't say that and was seriously disappointed.
Arghoslent - Hornet of the Pogrom. I don't listen to much music with solos.

I'll try to remember that name. never heard of them.
If you're only gonna pop in now and then, then at least give certain people your AOL or MSN or some shit.
You and Ghoul contribute most to my musical stuff. You two are like musical treasure troves. My AIM is on my page, btw.

Also, I finally got around to listening to Cryptopsy's new album. I was pleasantly surprised, it was very good, especially after The Unspoken King. I'm still not a fan of McGachy's vocals, though. It's not like he's totally incompatible with their style of music and they have to "write around him" as it were, like it was with DiSalvo, but he's just not very good. He still insists on cupping the mic, and though there isn't any clean singing, his growls still sound too "clean". Also, I don't think the bass is as impressive as it was on their past albums, but that's just a little thing that I'm sure they'll iron out in time for their next one.

I don't think Cryptopsy will ever be as good as they were in their very first years. But it's good to see them stepping away from deathcore. It's great that Jon Levasseur is back in the band though, and that could help them get right back on track.
While we are discussing death metal bands from Quebec, have you heard of the band Beyond Creation ? They are absolutely fantastic and will most likely get themselves a place in my top 5 death metal bands :)
Beyond Creation - Coexcistence
Tell me what you think !
Cryptopsy - Crown Of Horns
Currently waiting to see if my band submission for Encyclopedia Metallum will be accepted or not....

They usually just shit on you and disregard your work in three seconds for obscure motives. That's what they did the last time I posted a band.

I haven't heard of them until now, but I'll definitely check them out and report back!
I got a copy of Immortalizer by Valient Thorr yesterday. It was either that or Methods For Attaining Extreme Altitudes by Bongzilla. I ended up getting Valient Thorr because I pretty much only see one album of theirs for sale anywhere and thats Stranger, and I always see that Bongzilla cd for sale at that store.
I also got Down To Earth by Rainbow on vinyl today at a swap meet/car show I was at.

Yeah they did that with the first band I tried submitting a band....but after they rejected it I tried resubmitting it a few more times then just gave up on it.
Plus it would seriously tick me off if it got rejected because it took awhile to get all the info for all the stuff together.
And of course it got rejected -_-
The reason being that "Stoner Rock" isn't metal. I didn't really label the genre as Stoner Rock though.....
I tried objecting the rejection and someone said they deemed the band "Fuzz Rock"
So I highly doubt I can get them to change their mind..........oh well ._.

I don't use MSN or anything like that any more. All I've got is Facebook since I refuse to have more than one of those things at once. I'll hit you up with the Facebook shit in a PM if you want it.
Also, you wouldn't like the band. I know you have a severe distaste for certain political motivations/allegiances in terms of music and...yeah.
