Its a good album. As of this moment I have 2 Yes albums the other album being Tormato.
And then i have Yessongs which was their first live album.

Ya know. I never really got "into" Doctor Who...dunno why.

Every time someone reminds me of Yes, I immediately get the acapella version of "Leave It" stuck in my head for hours on end.

Which I will share for you now!

Some badass stuff we haven't mentionned recently :

Bongripper - Satan
Boris - (First track of Smile Japanese Version)

Never forget badass music :)

All are excellent albums....but I got to go with Selling England by the Pound. Dance of the Moonlit Knight, Firth of Fith, and The Battle of Epping Forest are easily some of the best tracks they have ever done. If you can only get one album, it's this one, but the others I mentioned are definitely worth checking out.

I two, am enjoying Selling England By the Pound so far. Rather interresting album, even though some of the tracks do feel like fillers to me. I'll also check out The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway sometime.

It also seems to me that the fans of older Genesis material do not like the late work with Phil Collins. Why is We Can't Dance getting so much bad critics ? I like it. I think it's a rather good rock album. More pop-oriented then the earlier efforts, and less progressive for sure. But if we look at it as one album and not a part of Genesis discography, it's pretty cool.

Love the Bongripper song. Never got around to listening to Smile for some reason...never really understood why. Hell I didn't listen to all of Flood or Heavy Rocks til recently xD

Speaking of Bongripper. Has anyone here gotten around to listening to Sex Tape/Snuff Film yet? I downloaded it last night and listened to it before I went to bed and thought it was alright.

Out of these three, Heavy Rocks is the most amazing. Flood and Smile are pretty much alright. I think I like Smile better.

Is it in the vein of Satan Worshipping Doom ? Because if it is, I really want it :) Not that I hate their earlier work, but SWD is one of my favorite albums of all time. I think it's the biggest, baddest and greatest Doom Metal ever :)

Heavy Rocks was pretty awesome...for some reason Flood seemed to drag on in parts. I dont know why though. I mean I listen to songs that are more than double the length of the longest song on that album all the time.

I know what you mean. Some parts have too slow progressions with very little elements brought in at a very slow-pace. They do have good Sludge/Drone/Doom tracks though. The album Absolutego never drags on any part. But Flood does lack on some parts.

I will agree with you on that part. You'd think a song as long as Absolutego would drag on a bit even if its a little in the middle or something but everything just seems to work out great.

Don't you like the whole album ? Except for the last track, they are all pretty much in the same vein. It's all about heavy, crushing, badass slow doom metal with a great progression. Only difference is that the last track opens with a droney intro, which could bother some fans who aren't into this genre. So why not like the whole album equally ?

I don't know them. Maybe I would have discovered them at the Summer Slaughter Tour if it wasn't for all the generic deathcore bands they sign every year to sell more tickets to fist-swinging kids with big caps and plugs in their ears. I hope the line-up is good next year. And I'll check that band Dead Man's Hand for ya!

Already enjoying it to death. Metal has taken a bit of a backseat lately just for this. Infact, I've not bought any CDs in a month now. I really am slipping here.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the album as a whole but I feel the track Satan just does a little more than the rest. I do express good thoughts towards Hail and Worship as well as Satan. Hopefully you understand that the last track Doom might be a little heavy for me at times as I'm not much for the drone aspects of metal but I'll still listen to it time and time again.

Same. Somehow I keep thinking I actually have this on CD but it was only a download from my sister seeing as the physical release isn't easy to find. Well, maybe vinyl isn't a problem but CD, hardly even see it. The problem with vinyl is that the shipping costs can be extreme when buying them overseas. Just getting a vinyl from Germany can be something like £8 just for the postage cost alone.

It's a shame such reports go unnoticed. This is something Blabbermouth should have picked up but as far as they go, they like to report useless information about Phil Anselmo and Sharon Osbourne before expressing concerns about this.

I've yet to listen to Dronevil -Final- with two stereo systems at the same time. I think that should be a pretty cool experience :)

As for their stuff with Merzbow, I have Sun Baked Snow Cave and also Megatone, but haven't given any listen to both yet. Don't know why...

And em, why is it that Metal Archives has archived them as Boris (aka Boris with Merzbow). He worked on 3 full-length albums with them, and was a session musician for one track on another record by them. In the end, they've worked on 23 full-length records without him...

It seems Bongripper are willing to be independent forever. What do they have now... something like five full-length albums so far and they don't have a label yet. But some labels make artists suck so bad, it may not be a bad thing for them not to get signed.
