I would help you, Bahamut, but my hard drive just got fuckered. It's completely capoot.

However, really good:
Hamka. The only way I can describe it is if Symphony X were european and fronted by Elisa Martin, the ex-singer for Dark Moor and Dreamaker, with intense folk/irish influence.

Red Fang - Murder The Mountains or Red Fang
Good call, I kept meaning to pick up one of their albums but they eventually slipped my mind.
ah. well i haven't gotten around to listening to all of it but from what i have heard it sounds like an okay album
Yeah, it's not the best psychadelic rock offers but it's alright nonetheless.

Modern thrash metal? My sister should be all over that!
Not metal, but: I see Radiohead, all right. But I don't see "Hail to the Thief". Please change that.
I actually wasn't sure what to get from them next so I'll go ahead with that whenever I'm ready for more Radiohead.
Not quite metal, but: I don't see any Queens of the Stone Age. If you pick up an album, make sure it's either Songs for the Deaf or Rated R. Lullabies To Paralyze is a good album as well, but it's not as good as the other two.
Eh, I've never really cared for QotSA.
Also:
Rage - Ghosts
I only have two Rage albums so this is a good suggestion.
Saxon - Killing Ground
I should make a push with getting more of their stuff but I feel they are not urgent at this point, especially when I have some of the essentials.
Soulfly - Soulfly
Never really cared for them and after Roots, I'd rather stay clear.
Body Count - Body Count (well, it IS an essential album, at least for me)
I've not entirely put them out the window but it's one I'll give a chance someday.
I am disappointed by the lack of Bolt Thrower in your list. You should pick up Mercenary and Those Once Loyal. Really, you can forget about the other albums I mentioned, but you definitely should get those two.
You know, I was actually meant to have gotten one of their albums but it seems it got lost in the post due to Royal Mail's incompetence.

as much as i love Murder The Mountains id say that Red Fang is my favorite out of the two. but i guess get whichever you feel like getting if you get one of those. also was watching an interview of theirs and they were talking about how they have a few new songs they're demoing after they get done with their current tour they're going to possibly start recording their next album. if thats the case im really looking forward to that.

That's a relief, I picked up Murder the Mountains from Amazon. Along with that, I'll be getting Dawnbringer's Into The Lair Of The Sun God and Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine. I gotta say, I'm overdue with getting Ocean Machine. Heard half of it already and I already love what I'm hearing.

It's about dumb people who think that if you down-tune your guitar and play with distortion you become metal.

Good cover, but better than Megadeth ? No way ! Megadeth's version is full fucking force all the way through. The guitars sounds so sharp and powerful, Mustaine's voice is at it's best on Rust In Peace. Nothing can beat the original.
But when it comes to covers that sounds way better than the original, Decapitated's cover of Mandatory Suicide that was originaly by Slayer, is magnificient. Here is a link.

Have you heard the Hamka version? Goddamn it's great, and all instruments are performed better IMO, including (and especially) the singing.
I think I just came bullets.
Agalloch was absolutely amazing tonight :)
I don't rememeber the whole setlist, but they played Ghost Of The Midwinter Fire, Falling Snow, Kneel To The Cross, Faustian Echoes, Our Fortress Is Burning Part 2, You Were But A Ghost In My Arms, In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion, Hallways Of Enchanted Ebony, Limbs and others I can't remember right now. That makes up for a set that was more than two hours long !
The performance was perfect, I loved it :) The sound was also better than the last time I saw them live. Too bad my girlfriend couldn't come with me this year... what I got instead was a little fatty who kept moving himself right in front of me no matter where I stood. Very good choice of tracks also, and the musicians were great !
The two other bands were Musk Ox and Taurus. I'm very happy we have the chance to see Musk Ox with Agalloch here in Quebec. Musk Ox is now a three piece band. Nathanaelle the founder or the band played the acoustic guitar, and two other musicians played the cello and violin. The post-rock influenced neofolk music they play is absolutely beautiful. I recommand everybody in here check their stuff out.
Taurus was not like AniMetal thought, a thrash metal band. It was a rather underground Drone duo. Two women destroyed our ears with heavy distortion, feedback and drums. It wasn't bad, but I'm a little picky when it comes to Drone.
I also had the chance to meet Aesop Dekker (Agalloch's drummer) outside the show before I got in and I also ended up with a broken drumstick and got it signed by the drummer at the end of the show (I'm going to share a picture of the signature later). I also met all the other musicians and got them to sign the Faustian Echoes EP (I will share a picture of this, also). Best part is that when I talked to Don Anderson, he remembered me and called me by my name ! Damn, I felt like a true hero :D
Not only did I get to meet and talk to this guy twice in my life, but he still remembers my name :)

I've heard it. That's why I said it was a good cover. I don't think it's better than the original though.

Damn, that really sucks. I've had my external hard drive for almost five years now and it's still lasting well. I'd say age has treated it well better than my laptop and that's crazy. I hear bad stories of external hard drive crashes all the time but with these five years, I've been safe. I basically use Windows Media Player's WMA format which requires to be converted on iTunes so with that I have two of almost every track I have.

So you finally hear Faustian Echoes here. What do you think of it?
So it's been like fifty pages(okay, more like fifteen or so) since I last posted. What is new with everyone?
I went to Albany NY on my birthday(June 24th) on the Lich King tourbus to their show opening for Municipal Waste, Black Tusk and 3 Inches of Blood. I sold Lich King's merch while they played/set up .
It was two local deathcore bands, who were awful. Then Lich King. Then 3 Inches of Blood. Then Municipal Waste. (Black Tusk dropped off the show because their bus broke down or something, which sucked because I was most psyched to see them)
Municipal Waste kicked large amounts of ass, off of each album they played:
Waste Em' All - two songs (Toxic Revolution, Sweet Attack)
Hazardous Mutation - five songs (Unleash the Bastards, Mind Eraser, Terror Shark, Thrashin of the Christ, Bangover)
Art of Partying - six songs (Art of Partying, Born to Party, Pre-Game, Headbanger Face Rip, Beer Pressure, Sadistic Magician)
Massive Aggressive - two songs (Wrong Answer, Relentless Threat)
The Fatal Feast - three songs (The Fatal Feast, You're Cut Off, New Dead Masters)
Toxic Waste split - two songs (both MW songs)
So a good twenty Municipal Waste songs. It was pretty kickass, particularly since when I saw MW in 2009 the soundsystem blew so the show ended early and when I saw them for the second time it was part of a fest so both times I saw them before that I didn't get a full setlist.
Then on June 28th I saw Death to All in NYC!
It was Gene Hoglan,Sean Reinert, Steve DiGiorgio, Scott Clendenin, Paul Masvidal, Shannon Hamm, Bobby Koelble, Steffen Kummerer and Charles Elliott performing Death covers. (also, surprise guest appearances by Richard Christy, Alex Skolnick and the vocalist of some NYC Death tribute band)
Gorguts also opened, they played a good eight songs.
Overall, amazing show despite the fact it was about 150 degrees in there. haha
Tonight, I will be seeing Agalloch with Taurus opening. It'll be interesting because Hammers of Misfortune, Gates of Slumber and a few other bands are playing a show at the venue LITERALLY next door. It'll be cool to see how many people chose to go to the Hammers show, and how many chose to go to the Agalloch show.
It'll be awesome finally seeing Agalloch since their 2011 tour was 21+ in my area, they hadn't toured New England since 2004 before then and i've missed them each time they played Maryland Deathfest. So it'll be awesome FINALLY seeing Agalloch. :D
Duff, it's not my fault I heard from a friend that Taurus were thrash metal :P

well whats going on with it is out of nowhere i could be listening to music it will just "disconnect" and it shows the song is still playing but there is no sound so it might have something to do with the usb cable on that but sometimes when i go to check my files in it it shows there is nothing at all on it. im thinking about going to the nearest electronics store and seeing if i can get a new usb cable for that to see if it fixes that problem because its starting to do that more frequently. but what can i expect i got the hard drive for free....

To be honest, I didn't like it that much. But that is most likely because I was struggling with a stupid fatty who kept getting right in front of me at that specific part of the show. But it probably sounds great on album anyway. I like to know my music before I see a band live. Especially when it comes to such complex music.

What is it with Thrash Metal and Death Metal bands sharing the stage with shitty deathcore bands ? I mean, seriously ! At least Black Metal remains untouched by shitcore. They do have to line-up with pseudo-symphonic-bm bands like Dimmu Borgir every now and then, but that's just not as worst as jump-the-fuck-up-core...
Municipal Waste kicked large amounts of ass, off of each album they played:

They kicked ass of course. The frontman/vocalist/guitarist was awesome and one of the coolest frontmen ever, and their bassist kicked loads of ass.
The other guitarist and the drummer were cool too, but didn't stick out as much.

Luckily, both shows here sold out so it looks like neither tours got skimped out. :)
Agalloch was INCREDIBLE. But the crowd was full of... dicks. hahaha
Taurus were cool. I mean, they were basically really cookie-cutter Sunn O))) worship. But they were still cool, especially their drummer.

You get the same shit about how women shouldn't play video games. People are just downright and a waste of oxygen.
I blame nu-metal.I wouldn't call Body Count "Nu-Metal", though.
I wasn't trying to suggest that but the way nu-metal went, it can be off putting for any similar experiments.

I've got three more albums waiting in the post but I've got them on second class for the sake of saving a bit of money. It's not too much of a rush when I've still got a heavy playlist up right now.
So, here's what I got from the post office today:
Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris
Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers
Motorhead - Overkill
So, now I have "Ace of Spades", "1916" and "Kiss Of Death". Any more Motorhead albums I need? Like "Orgasmatron" or "Bomber"? Are those any good?

I didn't like them that much. But again, I like to know the bands and their music before I see them live. Especially when it comes to "less melodic" bands like Taurus. And since they are a very emergent band in Oregon, it's fucking hard to get to ear their music on the internet.
Agalloch - The Melancholy Spirit
Just got back from a local power metal show with my girlfriend, Melissa. I had fun, chatted with one of the bands, who sounded like an american version of late 80's/early 90's Blind Guardian.

I've actually listened to one song from Body Count before and I didn't find it to be bad at all. A second listen will help freshen my mind, though.

I assure you, I am digging The Mantle, especially with how they close it off with A Desolation Song. I was actually disappointed the other night when I realised I've yet to put the album on my iPod.

And that was what he sounded like on stage? Little details like them get me curious easily.

The band's called Hysteria, I think. He offered me a beer, but I'm taking vicodin for a few broken bones in my left foot so I politely turned it down.

So you are liking The Mantle :) That's cool ! Are you interrested in Agalloch's EPs or do you want to go for the full lenght albums first ? I'm asking because Agalloch released an EP after The Mantle named The Grey. It is composed of two remixed tracks from The Mantle, which are The Lodge and Odal. These two remixes are more Drone/Post-Rock oriented then Agalloch's usual stuff. I know it isn't one of their most popular, but I find it to be a quite interresting experiment.
Otherwise, if you really want to go for another album, I'd recommand Ashes Against The Grain, since The Mantle was your first album... I think it's the most logical way to go.
