all i have in the way of band shirts are
2 Nirvana shirts, 2 Pink Floyd shirts, a Rob Zombie shirt, a Van Halen shirt, a Grateful Dead shirt, and a shirt my uncle made for a band i was in and he only made 4. mine is the only one thats still in one piece because 2 were cut up and the other one had the sleeves cut off...
i can never find shirts of decent bands around here
and when i do they're either way too big for me or too small
or i never have enough for them and whatever i was planning on getting when i go to wherever i find them
someone i know has like 30 Iron Maiden shirts... and a dresser drawer filled with pretty much everything they've ever released and a record signed by them that cost i think he said $100...

Sounds like my friend JD. He has Iron Maiden tattoos, Iron Maiden posters/tapestries, hella Iron Maiden shirts, and numerous rare and out of print shit. He's a fanatic.

yeah if he was "old enough" to be able to get tattoos he'd more than likely either have an Iron Maiden or Def Leppard tattoo...because for some reason he idolizes Steve Clark and treats him like hes some kind of god...
i used to be in a band with him and all he wanted to play was NWOBHM music...it was okay when it was like 4 or 5 songs then it became EVERY SONG, and i (keep in mind this is before i got into black metal and stoner metal and sludge metal and the like) didn't want to constantly hear the same stuff over and over again, and i like Iron Maiden as much as the next person (Fear Of The Dark, Powerslave, and Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son are my favorite albums) i grew tired of hearing him playing 2 Minutes To Midnight, Phantom Of The Opera, and Aces High...
i wanted to play Paranoid one time during practice and he insisted on doing the Ian Gillian version because he doesn't like Dio or Ozzy and thinks Black Sabbath was their best with Born Again (and he insisted i borrow his copy of it...)
nice Bathory shirt. I have a Black Tusk shirt with art by John Baizely, as well as a Black Tusk shirt that I got all the members to sign after their show. I'm gonna hang that somewhere. I also have a Red Ulver - Blood Inside hoodie, a black Solefald - Red for Fire/Black for Death hoodie, a black Tool hoodie, a black Kamelot hoodie, a brown Bob Marley shirt, a blue Beatles - Abbey Road shirt, a John Lennon shirt, a black Clutch - Strange Cousins from the West dickie shirt, a King Crimson - in the Court of the Crimson King shirt, a King Crimson - Red shirt, and two black Megadeth shirts. I had a blue Symphony X shirt, but it's full of holes.
Anyway, here's the Clutch shirt I have.
nice callback to Song of Storms, there, Ghoul.
also, new Ephel Duath coming. cover looks awesome.
Oh shit! I did not know about this until just now. new Ihsahn album with guest performances by his wife, Ihriel, Devin Townsend, and Jeff Loomis! And the sax guy is collaborating with him again. Ephel Duath who? I can't wait for this! Ihsahn's solo project has never produced a bad, or even mediocre album.

It's most unfortunate they are worth a lot more than a regular album but I'll never see them in the shops and Amazon usually sells them for £15 each. I suppose if I really want to finish up my Budgie remaster collection, I'll go ahead with those prices.
which is a little out of my price range at the moment...they have a greatest hits CD and thats about $10 though...but i have to order em online and they only accept credit card or PayPal and i dont have either...
Usually I wouldn't recommend compilation albums but the way that one album is so easy to get while the rest seem to be rare, it might be one to get.

In all fairness, I've been a horrible slacker with reviewing over the last few months. Maybe I need another round of Monday Metal Treasures seeing that always got me in gear.

And I hear Maiden fans from the UK attending every show of theirs from this country. As much as I love the band, I've got to see other bands as well. Paying a fortune to see every Maiden UK show ever would have meant no Judas Priest nor Slough Feg last year.
Anybody here heard of virgin black? They're funeral-ish doom metal. Really great for when you're depressed. Link to one of their better songs here

well if i end up not being able to find em cheaper anywhere else i could try to see if i can order em...
i sometimes go to their store (for some reason didn't know they have a website...go figure) and i could ask if i can order directly from there and see if i could pick up and pay for the album there

its got a decent track list...granted i tend to be more inclined to not get greatest hits because its pretty much JUST songs i already know...oh and i finally got a working download of If I Were Brittania I'd Waive The Rules so now im good for that
and last night i decided to burn a CD of my favorite songs off of each of the albums...im more than likely going to put it in my car along with my burnt CD of Stoned Jesus and Sleep's Holy Mountain (as i couldn't find a cheap copy around here)

oh and i had my sister listen to High On Fire last night and played her Rumors Of War...
she said that Matt Pike is a terrible singer ._.
HOLY FUCK MESHUGGAH WAS AWESOME!!! I just need to see the Dethklok/Gojira/Lamb of God show and I can die happy

Actually....I kinda got something like that planned for 2013. I'll reveal more when it is closer to completion (I'm about 70% done with it) and that has also really been distracting me from reviewing. But....as it gets finished, I'll be reviewing more often.

Saw Meshuggah last night. Decapitated had perfect vocals (So did every band there actually). I almost fell asleep during Baroness, they got good energy but I think their music is crap. Meshuggah was EPIC.
Also I've noticed when bands with odd time signatures play the pits seem to go apeshit

2nd time seeing Meshuggah, 2nd time creaming my pants in public.
Baroness was fucking spot on; I loved their energy. Decapitated was an awesome surprise since I had never listened to them before, but they converted me.
Here I am, bored with everything.
To the other 2 guys who were at the show last night : Was I the only one loling at the random pants being launched around the crowd?

Where were you guys? I was at the balcony for most of the show.

That's one my problems with Shug live, every time I've went, people moshed at the worst times possible. Like during the synthesized vocals, or creepy guitar interludes. Shug is just one of those bands that when can really have a devastating atmosphere, but some drunk bald fuck trying to hug you just ruins it all.
And lol, I love Baroness, but people moshing to A Horse Called Golgotha was just hilarious (even better was seeing the hipster pogoing and side stepping. Even better than that was seeing them get knocked to hell when a pit formed).
I didn't go to the show you guys did, I guess. I went to a show in a small city in Maryland, not to far from DC. I'm presuming you guys went to New York.
But yeah, a guy in a chicken suit (with a Man is the Bastard) attended the place, as well as a religiously garbed Rastafarian, and a burqa brandishing muslin. What a diverse community.
Yeah people moshed at the worst times. But concerts have always been like that. When I saw Opeth people kept trying to mosh during Windowpane, I Feel the Dark etc. I'll always hate those people.
For Decapitated I was all the way at the front, but after that I moved to the back of the crowd because I wasn't down for moshing or getting pushed around this show.

Also met Maryland grind veteran Zac Ohler of Strong Intention. Check out his stuff, pretty good shit. If they ever come to your neck of the woods, see em' live. They are way better live than on record, and the pure intensity of them is amazing.

I've had a look on eBay and the damn albums are rare even there. Fuck, maybe I should turn my focus on more Budgie albums soon before they become 50 pound albums.

I should be fed up with that song by now but damn, I just fall victim to it when the remix works so well.

damn you Budgie! why do you have to make such good music then have REALLY fucking rare albums that cost a lot D:
id say you should hurry up and do that because that may happen sooner rather than later...but thats just me
i dont think id EVER be able to buy any of their albums if they got up to that much...which would suck because i kinda want at least ONE album of theirs...
oh and quick question
whats everyone's opinion on Soundgarden? because i got a CD of theirs yesterday...it was only $8 so i got it since i have no Soundgarden CDs...
A European tour featuring Kreator, Morbid Angel and Nile has been announced. Not sure if it's unfortunate that they missed out the UK or it might be a relief considering Morbid Angel's antics over the last 12 months. Still, if they had played in the UK, I would have considered going.

And I thought Manilla Road were bad. At least with them they are slowly getting all their albums reissued. The Deluge used to be one of the hardest albums of theirs to get up until Shadow Kingdom re-released it.

I'll have to consider what I am after next. After getting 16 albums at once, it'll be a while before I go ahead and buy some more CDs apart from new releases. Just placed pre-orders on Kreator's and Candlemass' new albums. With Candlemass's new one being their very last, they better make this one count.

They're one band whose name I keep hearing but I never care to listen to them.

do you know if they set a release date for Cathedral's album?

So yeah, you guys should check out this proggy oldschool death/thrash band, Thormenthor, pretty good shit.
