Yes x1000 for Falkenbach. I'd say one of the last two is a good start or even ...Magni Blandinn Ok Megintiri.... The other two albums I still need to look into. I'd go on a CD hunt but I'm occupied enough with my latest lot right now. What I should do soon is getting the last remaining Primordial albums I need so I'll be well prepared for the live show. I'm more likely to go to Manchester's show than in London.

well i guess i could look harder next time...

i did find a Korpiklaani album (Tales Along This Road)
but i didnt have enough for it...
i found a shit load of Pentagram and stuff like that too
wish i brought more money along to get more cds hahaha

So far, the confirmed bands are:

Cannibal Corpse
Between The Buried And Me
The Faceless
Goatwhore
Veil of Maya
Exhumed

+ two more bands that get the most votes on the fan-vote.

So less shitty bands make it a better tour? I don't know dude. Between The Buried And Me is great. Cannibal Corpse is ok. I don't know which Exhumed we are talking about. Veil Of Maya is shit. The Faceless is Chugcore/technical wank death... aka it sucks, Goatwhore is meh...

And about the other bands they could add to the set...

I love BTBAM, but Goatwhore is also awesome(but especially live) - Exhumed, the grindcore band? They're pretty good from what I know.

Agreed about Cannibal Corpse, The Faceless and VoM all being mediocre though - if those last bands are good then this will be worth it, if not then not.

Enfold Darkness, Hour of Penance and Vildjharta are all awesome - if the two winning bands are two of these three bands, then this tour will be worth it IMO.

Abstained Goatwhore vs A7X but I at least enjoy some stuff from Amon Amarth. Can't even get into Swashbuckle apart from that one song. Yeah, I should see what's the fuss all about regarding Goatwhore.

I'm not surprised. Falkenbach's albums don't go for dirt cheap online and by that, I mean I don't expect to see one for £5.

wish i brought more money along to get more cds hahaha

And yet I have plenty of money but trying to pace it out with the CDs.

Picking one or the other would have been good. The only Mastodon album I've yet to hear is Remission so I can't have an opinion on that. The rest are safe choices for sure.

The Devin Townsend Project > Dir En Grey

And I'm quite happy, because so far, Devin Townsend has 61% of the votes against 39% for DEG.

Between The Buried And Me > Sepultura

But right now Sepultura is winning by a lot.

Megadeth > Skeletonwitch

Megadeth is still winning but not by much.

Cannibal Corpse > Dimmu Borgir

Even though both bands aren't very good... CC is winning by a lot right now.

Decrepit Birth > Trivium

And winning by a lot !!!

Suffocation > Born Of Osiris

And so far, they are raping them ! :)

Dark Tranquility > Meshuggah

But Messhuggah is going to win big time :'(

Job for a Cowboy > Whitechapel... but not by far...

Children Of Bodom > Rammstein

And they are winning so far !!!

Ensiferum > The Faceless

Vote fast, The Faceless is winning by just a few votes !!!

Nile > Arch Enemy

Cynic > Napalm Death

Cynic as 47% :O Come on vote for them !!!

Aborted > Veil Of Maya

In fact, anything is better than Veil Of Maya.

Kreator > Slipknot

And winning !!!

I vote Mastodon over Warbringer, but both are great bands :)

Iron Maiden > Machine Head

Obviously...

Black Sabbath - Children Of The Grave

I can't believe Black Sabbath and Agalloch aren't on the list :'(
They were not even in th precompetition poll...

Duffy, here's my votes:

The Devin Townsend Project > Dir En Grey

Sepultura > Between The Buried And Me
(As much as I like BTBAM, Sepultura from 1984-1996 is fucking classic shit. Plus, Sepultura still kicks ass live)

Megadeth > Skeletonwitch

Judas Priest > Dying Fetus

Animals As Leaders > Bolt Thrower (Weird comparisons, but i've never been too into Bolt Thrower)

Cannibal Corpse > Dimmu Borger

Bloodbath > In Flames

Decrepit Birth > Trivium

Suffocation > Born of Osiris

Obscura > Exodus
(FUCK newschool Exodus, seriously)

Motorhead > Lamb of God
(I don't even like Motorhead and i'm voting them, damn)

Dark Tranquility > Meshuggah

Job For A Cowboy > Whitechapel
(LOL)

Opeth > Wolves In The Throneroom
(This one was very hard for me to do, but I had to. Plus, WITTR doesn't stand a chance in the first place)

Deicide > All Shall Perish

Obituary > Behemoth
(The fact that Behemoth is winning is depressing)

Goatwhore > Avenged Sevenfold

Rammstein > Children of Bodom
(I hate both, really)

Ensiferum > The Faceless

Nile > Arch Enemy

Cynic > Napalm Death

The Black Dahlia Murder > As I Lay Dying

Testament > Immortal

Swashbuckle > Amon Amarth

Aborted > Veil of Maya

Kreator > Slipknot

Mastodon > Warbringer
(Either way, whomever wins is going to crushed by Maiden in the next round)

Iron Maiden > Machine Head

Morbid Angel > Gojira

Enslaved > Decapitated

Anthrax > Metallica

King Diamond > Slayer

These are all my votes. Also, replace the core bands with say... Rhapsody of Fire, Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Stratovarius, Gamma Ray, Kamelot, Symphony X, Manowar, Iced Earth and Epica. Seriously.

This

It'd also be cool to see some sludge metal bands OTHER than Mastodon. It feels like they steal all the attention. What about Kylesa, Baroness, Torche, Pelican, Red Fang, Priestess and the rest of the neosludge bands? What about classic sludge bands like Neurosis, Crowbar, etc.?

And some doom metal would be nice too.

And some folk metal other than Ensiferum.

And a traditional metal band that isn't Iron Maiden/Judas Priest - what about Saxon, Raven, Diamond Plate, etc.?

Ah well, me just being nitpicky.

Also, no Dream Theater is surprising. But they get loads of attention as is, so i'm fine with them not being on this.

I hope the next round will start sometime tonight.

The polls closed like ten minutes ago, i'm betting that the new polls will be posted at midnight EST - so in twenty minutes.

It's sad that power metal is very minimal here. I think the only one they have here is DragonForce... Why are we taking these polls seriously?

Well in the preliminary rounds, there was a good 20-30 power metal bands. Why none of them got voted in is beyond me, obviously this website isn't followed by power metal fans.

Also:
1.) Because it's fun. Come on, don't lie. You enjoy doing these things as much as me.
2.) Because the band that wins gets their ENTIRE discography reviewed in this site's magazine. Which is an awesome boost to the winner.

Pretty pointless since the winner will end up being some big name like Iron Maiden or Metallica who have no use for that kind of promotion.

I doubt it, i'm hoping one of these bands win:
The Devin Townsend Project
Bolt Thrower
Obscura
Kreator
Goatwhore

Round two!

I voted:

The Devin Townsend Project > Sepultura
(Devin is still awesome, Sepultura? Not so much)

Dying Fetus > Megadeth
(Supporting the underdog, plus I don't want to see Megadouche in the top four - even if that'll probably happen)

Bolt Thrower > Cannibal Corpse

Bloodbath > Decrepit Birth

Goatwhore > Children of Boredom
(If Goatwhore doesn't win, i'll be pissed)

Nile > The Faceless

Napalm Death > The Black Dahlia Murder

Swashbuckle > Testament
(For the lulz)

Obscura > Suffocation
(Never really liked Suffocation much)

Meshuggah > Lamb of God

Opeth > Job For A Cowboy

Deicide > Behemoth

Kreator > Aborted
(If Kreator doesn't win this, i'll cry)

Mastodon > Iron Maiden
(Underdog vote, plus Mastodon are the only sludge band in the tourny so I want to support them)

Decapitated > Gojira

Anthrax > Slayer
(Fuck Slayer hahahaha)

Round two!

I'm really happy that Dir En Grey are out.

Here are my personnal votes :

The Devin Townsend Project > Sepultura

Megadeth > Dying Fetus
And right now, Megadeth isnâEUTMt winningâEU¦ they are losing by a few percentage points.

Suffocation > Obscura
Suffocation is an amazing band. It was an highly influencial band and I think their music has far more personality, at least in my opinion, than Obscura.

Lamb Of GodâEU¦ MeshuggahâEU¦ whateverâEU¦ I donâEUTMt careâEU¦

Children Of Bodom > Goatwhore
Sadly, CoB isnâEUTMt winning right nowâEU¦ I donâEUTMt know why people dislike them so much. They released a few great albums at the beginning of their career. I think they are hated for their success amongs teenagers and core fans. No matter what, I still vote for them, at least this round.

Nile > The Faceless
For reasons I have stated previously. The Faceless wanks too much and chugs too much. Nile makes some great Brutal Death Metal. Not my favorite band, but still far superior to The Faceless. And they are winning right now. Which is great !

Mastodon > Iron Maiden
Because I like their work a lot. Possibly more than Iron MaidenâEUTMs material. Both bands are amazing, though. I would like Mastodon to win, but either way, both deserves the victory.

Decapitated > Gojira¸
And again, both bands are great though.

Anthrax > Slayer
Because itâEUTMs obvious. But those who have voted so far do not seem to agree with me. Anthrax are getting buried right now. I really hope they donâEUTMt get any further in the competition.
