This is a fantastic post-rock influenced sludge album with some stoner rock moments. You're missing out if you haven't heard it.

Could you please share it with me ? I can't find a good mediafire link. Thanks brah !

Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
Helloween - Keepers of the Seven Keys Part 1
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Tragedy
Wintersun - Wintersun

Great choices. Not that the others aren't. I just don't know the others all that well or just don't like them as much as these.

1 Electric Wizard - Come My Fanatics (dont ask im starting to be more in love with Electric Wizard i have a few albums on my phone and i listen to them all the time when im not at my computer)

I'd have chosen Dopethrone, really. Why choose Come My Fanaticks?

2 Black Sabbath - Vol. 4
4 Kyuss - Blues For The Red Sun
6 Red Fang - Murder The Mountains
7 Sleep - Holy Mountain
9 Acid Bath - Paegan Terrorism Tactics
10 Pelican - The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw
11 Hammers Of Misfortune - The Bastard
12 Melvins - Houdini

So much Stoner, Doom, Sludge and other heavy, progressive and immervise albums. Damn good choices right there :)

1. Children Of Bodom - Something Wild
3. Norther - Death Unlimited
4. Ensiferum - Ensiferum

Even though these are nice classics of Melodeath/Power Metal, I wouldn't have chosen any of these. Even though they rock. Your choices aren't bad at all though, I'm just saying that personnaly I wouldn't have chosen these. That Ensiferum album is fucking fantastic !

9. Kalmah - Swamplord
10. Helloween - Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part II
11. Wintersun - Wintersun

Those would fit a little more on my list.

12. Sodom - M-16
13. Judas Priest - Painkiller
14. Black Sabbath - Paranoid

:)

2. Death- Symbolic
3. Megadeth- Rust in Peace

Classics !

4. Sigh- Scenes from Hell
6. High on Fire- Blessed Black Wings
7. Nobuo Uematsu- Final Fantasy VI Soundtrack (That thing is like 4 Discs, it will take me a while)
8. Symphony X- The Odyssey
10. Morbid Saint- Spectrum of Death
13. Black Sabbath- Master of Reality
14. Judas Priest- Painkiller

I just removed those I don't know that well. Aside from them, these are pretty much all great :) I don't know High On Fire that much or this particular soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu, but he's a great composer.

I actually wasn't considering non-metal albums for my list but if we did have five non-metal, it would be Queen's Greatest Hits, Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, King Crimson's In the Court of the Crimson King and FFVI and IX soundtracks. Yeah, metal does dominate my music but at least this year I've been picking up loads of prog rock that I should have obtained long ago.

That's what I thought. I knew you didn't consider the non-metal albums for your list ;)

Progressive Rock is so damn sexy! If you haven't listenned to the album The Power And The Glory by Gentle Giant, I recommand you listen to this gem as soon as possible !

Anyway, thanks guys for taking part into my little game :) I'll use these lists to explore some bands I never heard of. Plus, it's cool to know what are the personnal preferences of the different members of the Metal Hell.

Have any of you dudes dug into the South American metal scene? Cuz I have, and I've found a lot of gems.

So, right now, I'm listening to a band that I just now discovered today. They're a Mexican band called EX, and so far, they're making my head bang....hard. They rock, dudes.

But there's another Mexican band that does a thousand times better than those dudes, and their name is Yaotl Mictlan. I'l give links later.

Listen, kids, you'll do well to pay attention to what I say. Otherwise, You'll be missing out on many, many treats. Since several other certain people are gone, I'm pretty much the ultimate metal nerd here. I'm not happy to be able to say that shit, by the way.

Also, listen to Bruce. He's the only currently (somewhat) active person who has more metal knowledge than myself.

I'll come back and check on this post when I'm sober.

I will just leave my bros with this message, to anybody who is into thrash....

Listen to Driaturas del Mal by Disaster.

Funny that someone here is seeing the Iced Earth / Symphony X / Warbringer tour tonight in NY, I saw it last night in Worcester, Massachusetts. It was awesome as fuck.

Warbringer played six or seven songs, and were pretty tight, despite one of their guitars producing zero sound and the fact their microphone kept making obnoxious feedback.

Symphony X were next, this was their setlist:
1. Iconoclast
2. The End of Innocence
3. Dehumanized
4. Bastards of the Machine
5. When All Is Lost
6. Children of a Faceless God
7. Inferno
8. Electric Messiah
9. Of Sins and Shadows
ENCORE:
10. Eve of Seduction
11. Serpent's Kiss
12. Set The World On Fire

So yeah, pretty shit setlist. Seven Iconoclast songs, three Paradise Lost songs and only two pre-Paradise Lost songs... not only that, but Romeo was a bit buzzed so he totally butchered the solos in Iconoclast as well as pretty much Inferno in entirety.

That all being said, Symphony X's stage presence was phenom\inal last night. Russel Allen has become so good at putting on a show! Also, they added a really fucking sexy intro to Set The World On Fire, that's not on PL, which made me smile.

Then Iced Earth came on... they were flawless.

They completely ignored Framing Armaggedon and Crucible of Man, which is good because those albums are easily their worst, as well as ignored all of The Glorious Burden aside for only "Declaration Day".

From the new album, they played the title track as well as Anthem, Days of Rage, V and Dark City.

From the classic first six albums they played Dante's Inferno, Iced Earth, Angel's Holocaust, Burning Times, Slave to the Dark, Stand Alone, When The Night Falls, Damien and Watching Over Me.

From the 2004/2007/2008 albums, the only song they played was Declaration Day, which was excellent as those albums were largely suckish.

Also, Stu Block's vocals are fucking amazing. He rapes both Barlow and Owens when it comes to live performances.

Just spent half of my birthday money on Tsjuder's new album "Legion Helvete" and the album's T-shirt. Just to support Tsjuder and Season of Mist even more, I bought each item separately instead of buying the bundle that has a little more of a discounted price. Am I crazy or what?

Anyway, anyone listen to it? They reunited fairly recently and I was happy as hell to hear it. One of the great black metal bands ever, reunited. It's fucking sweet.

If that was the setlist they had for the London, I'd be happy to have not seen them after all. Yeah, turns out that was the setlist for the UK shows as well. Not that I have anything against Iconoclast but taking up the majority of the setlist is overdoing it and I'd hear hear songs from their other albums as well. When Blind Guardian played in London two years back, they balanced their setlist well with both old and new songs. Only Battalions of Fear was left out.

Also, Stu Block's vocals are fucking amazing. He rapes both Barlow and Owens when it comes to live performances.

It's not the vocalist that concerns me for Iced Earth, it all depends on the overall inspiration of them. I'm not faulting Stu Block but whenever I listen to Dystopia, it'll be all down to how good the music is and not because Stu Block replaced Barlow. And besides, like you said, The Crucible of Man sucks so it's not instantly justified just because Barlow returned.

Iced Earth however definitively stole the show for me. Dante's Inferno and Damien are two performances I'm gonna remember for a long time.
