Ufomammut is releasing a new album in April. sweet psychedelic droning tits.
I'm listening to a new German black metal band called Venenum. not bad. pretty raw sounding production, but not awful. I'm diggin' it so far.

Plus, I don't hear any metal influence in Explosions in the Sky or God is an Astronaut. I don't know about if These Trees Could Talk, though, because I still haven't listened to them. And "post-metal" is still metal. I definitely consider AAL to be progressive metal.
With Sense on this one. The bands mentionned by AniMetal are Post-Rock, and Animals As Leaders definitely doesn't fit the genre. It's not just about being progressive and instrumental. Post-Rock and Progressive Metal are two completely different genres.
At 18 hours ago, Tobi wrote:Post-metal more ofen than not, has vocals, whereas post-rock more often does not. Guitars in post-metal are less texture and timbre oriented than in post-rock, and of course, metal is often more low and bassy. It's really one of those things that's hard to explain. You just kind of get to know.At 6 minutes ago, AniMetal wrote:Post-metal and post-rock are the same thing to me. I've yet to hear an explanation as to what separates them.
Plus, Post-Rock takes his roots in Rock and Post-Metal in Metal. As I said previously, both have different roots but evolved the same way. Both have a lot of texture, soundscape, progressive elements and really atmospheric feel, but they evolved from different musical genres.

Man! I haven't listenned to that band in ages! I'll have to listen to some of their music again before I can tell :P

I'm actually laughing right now. These guys entertain me quite a lot XD

Just curious.
never fapped to pics of her
because (and i know this must sound weird to everyone here) ive seen a ton of chicks and i have seen none which look anywhere near as pleasing to the eye to me as my girlfriend. i doubt anybody here would think she looks as good as i think she does. but i think shes REALLY hot. even if she doesnt even think that and is confused why i think that...
but im not going with her for her looks. im going out with her because i love her :)
so id say to me everyone thats not my gf is a 3 and shes a 10 ;)
i bet i sounded really weird there...
I now have all of the full lengths by Klabautamann. I doubt they could possibly top Merkur, but I bet they still rock.
Also, I'm checking out some of the stuff Dalnaki recommended me a while ago. digging several of the tracks he linked. still got more to hear.
Wehrmacht - Shark Attack

Alcest - Les Voyages De L'Ã'me
I could totally see that first painting on some kind of experimental post-black metal album. nice find, dude.
Actually, this is on the cover of the Killing Emptiness by Ice Ages, which is an industrial/darkwave band that happens to have Richard Lederer from Summoning.

I'm not really surprised any artist playing dark, ambient, soundscaping or immersive music woud like to use this artist's awesome work to illustrate their music.

Both are amazing. The first one is possibly the one that first catched my eyes and made me want to see more of his work.

The feeling of this one is amazing, especially with the ruins and buildings in the background. The few pale lights on this painting make the whole thing even more gloomy and dark, as it really makes the subject in the foreground look even darker and... more dead... if that makes any kind of sense !

This is so terrible it's making me laugh.
Also, whoever said they would like Adagio more if they didn't have a vocalist, I enjoy their vocals. What's wrong with them?

Review posted for Pilgrim's Misery Wizard. Decent debut but I'd like to see them do a whole lot better next time to show their true potential.

Hey, guys, check out Stolen Babies. They're like rock/metal with a cabaret influence...and an awesome upright bass. And their singer/accordion player is hot. If Danny Elfman had a rock band, it would probably sound like them. The Sharone brothers are both in the band, but they don't sound anything like any of the bands with which either of them have been involved.

The singer's voice isn't bad, but I don't much appreciate the melodies of the vocal parts, yet I like the instrumentals. I just think they'd be better as an instrumental band.
Motorhead is good, but I honestly think they're a bit overrated.

I just listenned to one of their titles named Filistata, and I have to say it sounds pretty good. Avantgarde material is always interresting to look into. From what I've heard, it's quite work the listen. I'll get one of their albums as soon as I can :)
At 40 minutes ago, Shade wrote: Do you guys have any opinions on a band I have started to enjoy recently, Motorhead? Most people slam Lemmy's vocals but the guitar and bass riffs are pretty damn memorable.
Hell I'm even listening to Shoot You in The Back right now.

I really like Motorhead, specially for the guitar and bass riffs that are quick but with rhythm.

Love those guys. They may get samey after a while but I love their consistency and their recent works have proven to be some of the best they've done. Inferno is by far my favourite from them.

I wish you the best of luck, Bill. blackened blues, you say? interesting.
I listened to that Exivious track. pretty good. I like technical instrumental stuff like that. Some of it sounds like someone trying to hard, but when it's good, it is very nice. Canvas Solaris is a good example of technical metal that tries to do too much. They still have some songs that are sick, though.
So, after listening to the stuff Dalnaki recommended me, I've found several bands I intend to listen to a lot more. Some of them, I had already heard of, but never bothered to look into, and some I've never heard of before. The following bands seem to be pretty damn tits.
Flotsam and Jetsam
Necrosanct
Brutality
R.U Dead?
Wehrmacht
Demolition Hammer
Anacrusis
Lääz Rockit
Sadus
Sacrilege
Thanks to Dal.
Also, I'm really digging Absu right now. I had heard of them ages ago, but never bothered with 'em until recently.
Didn't like Morbid Angel's Illud Divinium Insamus? How about a remix of it?!?

What sucks is that I may go through all of that but on the other hand, I can write a review so I'll have an input on it. Still, do I even want to touch that thing?

I'd say a bigger significance for 14th February is Johnny Bravo's birthday. :P

So you think Canvas Solaris aren't that much of a good technical metal band. Good to know... because last.fm keeps recommanding them to me. Apparently, they would be similar to bands like Gordian Know, Spastic Ink, Exivious and Blotted Science. According to you, they are not. Good to know.
