On the contrary! Everybody's always unique!

So, I was talking to a friend who I introduced to Slough Feg. He really dug the couple of songs I showed him, and he was wondering where he should start with them. I said their three best are Ape Uprising, Down Among the Deadmen, and Traveller. And then he asked me in what order that was in. It took me a while, but I ended up ranking Traveller as the best. What is your guys' favorite Slough Feg album?

Hola my compadres,

I know it's been a while, but I'm here to show you guys what I've been up to as of late. Basically, I discovered metallic hardcore, and while I'm still a metalhead at heart, I've noticed similarities between the two, namely a love of Slayer, Crowbar, and Entombed. So I leave you with two pre-production demos I have on my bandcamp. These demos have been remastered but I'm not going to release them until the entire album is ready which will be a while.

I'm always torn apart between Traveller and Down Among the Deadmen. Both hook you all the way through the records from the very first track and both are full of golden metal songs. I think Deadmen goes slightly above Traveller for featuring Warriors Dawn, the Heavy Metal Monk / Fergus Mac Roich / Cauldron of Blood trio and Death Machine.

Although the title track is by far one of the greatest heavy metal songs ever written, the album itself probably isn't one I'd recommend to new listeners. I say once a new Slough Feg fan is settled with Deadmen and Traveller, they can go with any other album of their choice. None of them are bad and even if you pick the weakest one, there's still plenty to embrace.

For me, that is very hard to say. Like Bahamut, I'd say it's between Down Among the Deadmen and Traveler....but if I had to decide,I guess I'd go for Down Among the Deadmen, just because....

Just thought it would be interresting to see how my library of music is composed based on release year for albums. And this is how I scored from 1970 to 2011. I have a lot of albums from 2001 to 2009. It's kind of strange that it goes down from there. I have very little stuff from 2010 and 2011. I have a few theories on why it is so. The first one would be that I always get some new albums on my own and then get those recommanded by friends and websites, explainning the delay. Second theory would be that the 2000 were great for music, and that I wasn't impressed by the albums released in 2010 and 2011. But I doubt this theory is right... And third theory is that I started my bachelor degree in january 2010, and I haven't had as much time as before to check out some new music. Last theory is... that maybe I just don't give a fuck about getting new record anymore, but I doubt it :)

Yepper..that is me with a Mohawk...I was a METAL HEAD with a MOHAWK.
We were kinda different than the rest...we were ALWAYS a Metal/thrash/crossover band but since I chose to wear a Mohawk and stage dive, mosh, and climb on Speaker stacks to scream at the crowd before diving off into them..we got tagged Punk by some.

I was part of Chicago's crossover scene spearheaded by Barry Stern and his band Zoetrope before that so i guess it rubbed off a bit.. Was part of Chicago's crossover scene from the VERY beginning and attended the first shows Barry set up...In fact I will give ya guys some Trivia which I can back up with witnesses.
The first ever crossover show that Barry set up in an upstairs club off Belmont Ave..the first meeting between the punks and Metalheads..i was there with Karl and friends.
Show was starting great..killer band and music but the crowd did not know how to react.
I was kinda drunk and suddenly found myself screaming loud while standing on a railing.
Band played on..everyone looked at me..then I dove into the crowd and started a pit.
I was the first to get Punks and Metal Heads moshing together at the same show...yepper.

Like i been trying to tell you guys the past 7 years...i been around a while..been a part of 2 big music scenes of the 80's..Chicago's Metal/Punk of the early.mid 80's..and the Punk/Metal scene of The Twin Cities mid 80's..i brought chicago's style to St.Paul, MN....why I ended up playing a few Midwest Metal Massacres. in the early years. Donald 'Sean' Decker was a good friend of mine..Met him when Impulse Manslaughter and Death Squad played the Varsity Theater in one of the First Massacres.

Knew Decker for years..He played me the VERY FIRST demo recording of Anal Splash after Death Squad did a Massacre in Mpls with EyeGouger (Ron-Testicle Pounder, is a close personal friend from Chicago..close friend of Bryant's, my guitarist brother) he said Bill, always liked you guys and Impulse...even though I think Gary (my guitarist) needs more distortion in my opinion. Here's a tape I made of me and friends..really want your opinion man.

I listened..laughed my ass off at the lyrics and banter..and loved how brutal it sounded.
Let him know i liked it and saw Decker smile brighter than i ever did before or after.
listened to a bunch of killer metal as he made business calls left and right and listened a few more times to his demo.

kept asking me..Bill, sure you like us? we are alright then?
Kept telling him the same..hell yeah, brutal and funny, people gonna love it.
within a very short time after that Gary and I were on the guest list for the very First Anal Splash gig and now Decker and the boys are a part of Metal history..Don(Fat Fuck)Decker (R.I.P)....and the one who started it in Chicago..Drummer/Vocalist crazy whiteboy with an afro who I met when he worked in a record store and was just recording with Zoetrope..who ended up drumming for Trouble..Barry (Mr. Afro) Stern (R.I.P).

Lost 2 legends..friends of mine..to cancer.
Now i'm doing what i can now to speed up finding a damn cure finally.
Besides living costs all monies I shall begin receiving this year are going towards finding a cure..tired of losing friends and family to a disease that should have been cured decades ago..

I have now befriended a bunch of bands around the world as well as artists and other real cool people..South America, Canada, all over the USA, england, Italy, France, Mid-east, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Russia, The Ukraine, and Japan and others..bands that kick ass and remember me or currently enjoy my work..planning a lil world tour within 3 years..gonna be fun and killer...and done right like Ponos bro knows it's all gonna pay for itself :)...plan on bringing a bunch of bands along for the ride.

Shiiiiiiiii...i gotta run..later.

Been waiting for this one. I do agree with the review on how the concept is handled. It's a weird concept but it's a metal one and that's what counts. I know for a fact that Spiral Castle is one of your favourite releases from them so I'd like to see how much you talk about it.

On another note, I forgot to mention it on my previous post but I did write a review for Steelwing's new album. I had initial doubts but the full length release made it a whole lot better for me.
