If I were to buy an album off a band that I feel needs the support (underground bands), where is the best place to buy it? I've found a lot more underground black metal bands that I feel I want to support.

hah. Phlebotomized sure is interesting, isn't it? I have Skycontact. "I Lost My Cookies in the Disco" is definitely a song title that sticks out.

They're going back to their roots and I love it.
I like it, but I wish they were planning to make their next album closer to the style of Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye.
Those construction worker puppets reminded me of the doozers from Fraggle Rock.

umm....Well, I'd say Arcturus, Ulver, Ihsahn, and Klabautamann are among the best there. It's hard to say, though, since I listed a lot of good bands. It depends if you're looking for a certain kind of black metal, but there's all kinds of stuff on that list.

Darkestrah, eh? Have you heard Epos? It's pretty good.

He's probably going to respond to this post with an essay about he is oh-so-deserving and how i'm just a dick, when I really just tell things the way they are.
Maybe, but I think saying that is a bit uncalled for, as is what Smeagol said. The comment you made after he tried to recommend some doom metal wasn't too cool either. Why the beef, mang? You no hungry for beef. You hungry for hoooot poooockeeets.

I think it actually sounds really good. Mangini already impressed me in that audition video. Even if Minneman might have been a better choice, he still seems like he'll be great.

It's unbelievable. I love the fact that it has a female black metal vocalist. My kind of girl :3
And I finally found the album I'm looking for here, but I'm hoping that I don't need to be a European to buy this. Oh god no, I really hope not. Anyone know?

Their own sites, or possibly their label's site? Directly from them is as supportive as you can be.

They do? Awesome. Now I just need to know how much the shipping will be from France to New York.
Anyway, I wanted to ask the people of this thread something. What is your opinion on Anal Cunt? Like any other normal human being, I think they are horrible (hilarious though). But why do my friends keep telling me how awesome they are, and saying "HOW DO YOU NOT LIKE THEM"? Please tell me I'm not crazy guys.

I actually don't like them at all. I don't even find them all that funny. I'll get an occassional chuckle or two, but nothing that makes me go "OMG! They are soooo funnny!" If you want a great musician with a sense of humor, you can't go wrong with Devin Townsend. I have seen a lot of interviews with him, he's such a chill and funny guy. Would love to meet him. However, this is a hilarious song. CHECK IT OUT!
Also, I have hit writer's block when it comes to my Manilla Road discog review. Anyone else who writes reviews have this problem? I want to finish it up before their new album comes out and culminate my discog review with their new release, but I can't get anywhere on my Courts of Chaos review. HOW DO I DEFEAT THEE WRITER'S BLOCK?!?!?!?!

Well, I don't actually own it yet so I can't listen to it like crazy for the time being.
My sister managed to find someone who she met at the Opeth concert on Last.fm. It turns out the same person might be seeing Judas Priest live in Manchester.I've talked with people from Montreal, France and even Irak on last.fm.
I've spoken to individuals from interesting places but what really amazed me is how my sister was able to find someone she saw at the Opeth concert. I suppose that one made a comment on the live show.

The only good thing about them is the track titles. Their songs are utter shit but I do find Steroids Guy amusing. That's probably because I've heard it on a few flash movies.

Ugh, I always hate writer's block for reviewing. Thankfully I haven't hit writer's block for Metal Monday but I could do with finishing off a few more just to keep me in check. Everything up until mid-August is done so far and I'd like to be roughly two months in advance. At least this is easier to do than to make a detailed analysis on full-length albums.

lol that was pretty funny. I still think that Anal Cunt is funnier, though. I think the outrageousness of their song titles and lyrics are just too much.

lol yeah I know, I could just sit there for an hour looking at all their song titles one by one. They're beyond amusing.
Also, I don't know if anyone here is aware, but a couple of weeks ago Seth Putnam, the leader of Anal Cunt, died.

Just people commenting on the band's page can give you hints. You often see posts like this "Their gig in Montreal was awesome." Telling you that someone was at the same show :)

Why do I need some stupid title? Seriously it's the fucking internet, sure it be cool it it were a club and we all lived near each other Id only want a Hell General rank. But I don't want a title here, I already have my own title in my own personal life and that's all that matters to me. I exist only for her and her alone. Plus shes getting into metalz now, shes really into moonspell. :3
Also Ani would make a better horsemen in my book.
4 horsemen phffft what is this a bible school now?
If I was a Horseman everyone would get along and we'd all be really good friends and rainbows would soar across verdant fields of green and rain sunshine on everyone, even the gentiles.
Gobblemeister for Horseman 2011
I would be an awesome horsemen because I would kick out every member who disagreed with me, I would call new users faggots because they like Amon Amarth + Children Of Bodom and I would declare Kyuss officially a metal band... because they're that awesome.
AniMetal for horseman, 2020
If I was a Horseman I would introduce a casual friday where you can wear whatever clothes you feel like. I also have several years experience horse riding so I think I would be the best candidate to choose.

Sorry guys, no vacancies.
If I was a horsemen shit would be awesome. I'd post download links to the greatest metal in the universe every day. And my feces would be 90% iron.
HA HARRR, and I'm here to tell ya, about this thread. Its got lots of bad things in it, like shits and pussy wussies ha harrrrrr yes, so pay attention and don't do this at home. Because if you do, you will pay the consequences.
Who has heard Burzum's new album Fallen? I haven't.
Woooooo new DT that's kind of average and I'm over them. Failure to top Awake is infuriating.
BEEN LISTENING TO BLACK METAL AGAIN YEEE HAW. Taake really new how to write riffs. But in their last self titled album they forgot how to and learnt how to be boring.
Drudkh are great though, I've noticed that they incorporate post-rock elements nowadays, probably because of Agalloch's success. Or they like Agalloch. I would love it if they stayed more true to the Blood in our Wells sound.
WELL WHO GAD DAMN DIDDLY DO WACKIN CARES WHAT OLD PONOS SAYS
THAT GUY IS CRAZY
PONOS? MORE LIKE PENIS
There's a band called Stoned Jesus. They're not great but their singer truly sounds like old school Ozzy.
Well I'm bored. Might aswell shoot myself.
I haven't listened to Gorod much, but that song that Heavenduff posted is awesome. I might try to get this album.

Do you think he was a part of what made them great then or just happened to be in the band when they did their best stuff? I don't know how much of a part he had in the writing process.

If you go to Ron Jarzombeck's personnal website, I'm pretty sure you could get it for a good price. It's not like the label stopped making copies of the album. Or did they? I don't think so.

I listenned to it, and I'm kind of happy of their sound. It's just one track... of course, but I think we can hope for a good album at least, if not a great album :)

Good metalz right there.

Post-Rock really is sneaking into Metal nowadays. Not that it's bad, but it's true that some bands should really stick to their original sound.

Good band. But they just tend to sweep and wank just a little too much on that album. The first three or four tracks of the album are awesome though. I'd say the rest of the album is not quite as memorable as these few tracks, except for the track A Common Hope :)
Kevin Moore and John Myung ARE Dream Theater.
So with Moore out of the band, and with "In The Name Of God" being the last song Myung ever wrote with the band... basically they suck now.
And the fact James LaBrie's vocals really went down the shitter doesn't help matters any.

That statement is untrue. Most musicians take part in the writting in Dream Theater. Each one of the guys has written good tracks for the band. Kevin Moore was a great keyboardist, but tell me how Rudess makes that much of worst job then him...

I'm not a huge fan of their most recent material, but saying that they suck is an overstatement.
