I don't know about every single metal fan checking out this album. If I'd go with an album that I recommend to even non-power metal fans, it'd be Blind Guardian's Tales from the Twilight World. That's the album where Blind Guardian's musical style comes to fruition whilst keeping the thrash/speed metal elements from the first two albums.
In my opinion, power metal didn't really start becoming a genre of its own until the mid/late 90's. Before that, it was almost all borderline rock or borderline thrash.

By the way, I've gone back to Winterheart's Guild by Sonata Arctica. And I really must say that everybody in the Metal Hell should listen to that gem at least once in his life, no matter if you are a Power Metal fan or not. It is simply amazing. And Victoria's Secret is my girlfriend and I "lover's song", if that means anything to you (We do have a couple other songs, but that's one of our tracks).
The first four SA albums are great, but Silence is personally my favorite.
Tony Kakko is one of the greatest vocalists the world as ever seen.
He's amazing, that's why.

I believe I have yet to listen to Dream Theater. I do like prog at times so I guess I should check them out sometime.
You definitely should. Dream Theater is Fantastic
Mih, all dream theater before six degrees of inner turbulence is fantastic. That album onwards they begin to really become a borefest.
I've never heard of Eloy, but I like Spock's Beard.
Same here.
Pleased to meet you, I am a metalhead Tool fan.
Tool is one of my favorite bands.
Same here as well haha
Camel? really? I don't hear any signs of their influence.
They played a Camel cover when I saw them in 2008, I have no idea what song though.
Cynic, have yet to hear them.
Focus was a great album. Sean Malone is an awesome bassist/chapman stick player. I wish more music had chapman stick. that and 10-12 string warr guitars.
Both Cynic albums are great.

I did have Phenomenon in mind because of Doctor Doctor but if they're better overall, I'll consider them instead. Hopefully I can find these albums for a good price.
Personally, Lights Out is my favorite but that's a good album too.
I respect you for acknowledging the influence he's made on metal. :)
Well no shit, just because I don't like a band doesn't mean i'm going to pretend they didn't have an impact.
I despise Bob Dylan, I still admit that he inspired a musical revolution more or less.
