Arcturus and Korpilkaani are great too. Seeing as you're checking them out, I can say you might be in, dude. Congrats.

And Ghoul - Thanks.
I just burned 50 cds for my girlfriends birthday present...Cheap, yet effective in expanding her music collection.

I think they're a blend between progressive rock and metal. Like the songs YYZ and Limelight are progressive metal, while Red Barchetta and Vital Signs are more progressive rawk.

Eh, I can't sleep. It's midnight and I have to get up early and pack everything up and go back to El Sobrante. >=( So I listen to Cannibal Corpse and Nargaroth and hope to get so tired I can't stay awake. So far, it's not working.

I got Natalie (you know who she is) her christmas present already. I'm trying to make sure I have it and I don't spend all my money before getting her something.
I'm a decent boyfriend, too, as I got her a nice 400 second anti shock CD player that doubles as a radio, and I burned her copies most of my CD's. 100, I think.

I'm sad, you always recommend your own bands but never mine :( I'm not that horrible, am I? >: ( ........... :P
Well, new material is on the way, you guys'll be the first to here it, guaranteed. Just need some time for it.
Well, we'll see if he's in or not, depends on how much he's going to like the bands you recommended him.

Neither do I mention WillPostForFood's band Naked Souls, my band with Will, Cocytus, or any of my other projects. I just mention bands where I know where you can order them.
Alright, fine.
Borknagar, Burzum, Ulver, Emperor, Dissection, Midian/Kali Yuga, Craft, Enthroned, Dimmu Borgir (Stormblaast and For All Tid only), Cradle of Filth (Dusk And Her Embrace, Vempire, and The Principle of Evil Made Flesh only), Mayhem (Post 2000 is reccommended for a newbie), Aborym, Finntroll, Shores of Sheol, SkogsTroll, Cocytus, Naked Souls, Sublimintal Messages, and Coffinfeeder.
Really though, SoS is kinda kvlt for a newbie. That's why I didn't mention Black Death or Goat Pervertor. Both projects are WAAYYYY too kvlt for a newbie.
Well, new material is on the way, you guys'll be the first to here it, guaranteed. Just need some time for it.
Cool. S/h, I have to spend time recording my new album. *tears* But the recording stopped because I broke a string. Yes, I'm ch34p. So the intro to Covenant of Blood and Steel, plus almost the entire Reality In Science in Pain, and We Head To A New System and Constellation (outro) will have to be postponed. I'll be happy for now as having recorded about half the album. (There's only four songs).

Sounds reasonable.

I found an awesome little metal store not even five minutes from me called Goodies. I've been living here all my life, and never had a clue it was there. Pity. Anyways, I got Cryhavoc - Sweetbriers and Angel Dust - The Human Bondage.

Yeah, I've been periodically getting my g/f into better stuff...She's into metal almost as much I as I am right now, so its cool...
And Bah, it sucks because my g/f's birthday is December 1st, and not a month later is Christmas...My wallet is going to be painfully weak and empty come the end of this month
Good news is that I am going to get my friend to gimme copies of his Immortal cds...And, I can't wait to get my dad's christmas money (he's lazy, he doesnt buy presents, just hands out money) to splurge upon cds...Sweetness.
Well, I went to the Bodom/Amon Amarth/Trivium concert on Tuesday. AA was fucking awesome, so much so that I was compelled to spend the $35 they were charging for t-shirts. I met Johan Hegg later in the night and got him to sign the shirt. I also had him sign my man boobs for good measure : D They played Pursuit of Vikings, Releasing Surtur's Fire, Masters of War and all of the good stuff. The pit was insane, both of my arms and most of my face are just solid masses of bruises. Trivium was on next and they sucked.
After that, Bodom came on stage and stayed on for over two hours. They played more than twenty songs and had a few solos thrown in for good measure. Of course the one time that we got an actual circle pit going they started playing slow songs >: ( I ended up getting out of the pit halfway through Bodom's set and watching from the back. They had a dozen high powered strobe lights pointing right into the pit and I couldn't see shit all. That, combined with the auditorium having no ventilation whatsoever, was just too much for me.
I then had to walk home wearing a soaking wet t-shirt when it was about 4 degrees centigrade so I've been sick as fuck since the show. It was well worth it though. Strapping Young Lad on the fifth \m/

Awesome. Girls + metal=hawtness.
Also, I've been listeningto Ulver's Teachings in Silence lately (I downloaded it) and it is some trippy, psychedelic music. Not for the paranoid.
i got my girlfriend listening to a little bit of metal. nothing much, really. stuff like rotting christ, older in flames, naglfar, hypocrisy ect. the weird thing is that she like deicide
I always try to get a girlfriend that is not into metal at all... they're just not my type, I found out after 3 'metalhead' girlfriends...
I'll just do with your avarage conformist 'good' girl :P

I say go directly into Immortal and Dark Funeral and Marduk and other Abyss studio bands.
