Damn! Old-school Death/Thrash Metal from Mexico :) Guess I should give them a listen :O They have very little reviews on Metal Archives... and they got something like 2,500 listenners on last.fm... Damn Damn! Strange... cause they have recording since 1987... They probably have a big fanbase in Mexico!

Yeah, they probably do. They're pretty good. I don't know what albums to get, though. I recently discovered a couple metal bands with Spanish lyrics. Yaotl Mictlan is really good Mexican black/folk metal. Disaster is some badass Chilean thrash metal, and Dorso is pretty good Chilean progressive thrash, from what I heard. Although, the stuff I heard from their last album is not so good. They changed. Also, Agora is a pretty good Mexican progressive metal band. They kinda remind me of early Dream Theater, from what I heard. I got Segundo Pasado, but I haven't been able to get Zona de Silencio. I also got Criaturas del Mal by Disaster (I listened to Motosierra del Infierno and it's pretty bitchin'), Dentro del Manto Gris de Chaac by Yaotl Mictlan, and Bajo una Luna Cámbrica by Dorso. I really want to get Guerreros De La Tierra De Los Muertos by Yaotl Mictlan, if I can. I'm gonna keep looking for that other Agora album, too.

Well, Synchestra and Terria are both really kick ass albums (even though they aren't DTP, but Devin Townsend Band [Yeah, big difference]). Ocean Machine: Biomech is pretty badass as well. And of course his stuff with SYL is a must too.

Misfits are my second. Dead Kennedys took punk to brilliant new places IMO.

I don't see why Lamb of god aren't considered metal here.

They're metalcore, they are full of hardcoreness. It's like saying Machine Head is metal when they're pretty damn nu-core.

Images and Words and Awake are definitely worth checking out as well as the A Change of Seasons EP.

I'd like to get more into Thrash metal too, so I'll give your recommendations a listen, maybe some related artists aswell.

The only other thrash metal bands I can name are Annihilator, Destruction, Exodus, Sepultura (pre-Chaos AD), Sodom and Testament.

A few other bands to consider are High on Fire and Baroness. Most Mastodon fans I know have been particular fond of them two so they might be worth checking out.

Lol, what? Machine head released some shitty rap metal stuff at some point but they aren't "nu-core". Their latest album is completely metal, even though Machine head is one of those bands that are disdained by most metal fans along with Metallica and Pantera.

I've been listenning to the album Board Up The House by Genghis Tron over the last few days, and I thought I should say a little word about this album, in the Metal Hell. It took me quite a while to get into their music. While the intro to the first track of the album is pretty good, the whole song really isn't that great. I've tried listenning to this album quite a few times in the past, but always dropped it right after the first track because I only got to listen to their music in music stores, so I didn't get a lot of time to listen to different tracks.

But now I decided I really should give it a proper listen, and I think it's pretty cool. It's a grindcore band that mixes their music with electronic parts. Some of these are somewhat similar to stuff that you could find on a Ulver album. In fact, I'm pretty sure Genghis Tron took part in the recording of the album My Own Wolf - A New Approach to Ulver. So I guess we could say that Ulver influenced them. I still don't know if this kind of band still fits in a discussion in the Metal Hell though, as they are a grindcore band, and they use core-ish screams sometimes.

Still, my experience of the album was pretty good. I know I've only listenned to it three times, but it's kind of growing on me. I don't think it's going to be one of my all time favorites, but it's definitely worth checking out.

Obviously, but they're way too popular, like, they released 3 very bad albums that I don't like, so I don't like it, because the internuts metal community is all like they suck cuz' of those 3 albums, even though their latest album is pretty good, but then they're all like saying "Uh, Death Magnetic, they're making thrash again to sell more and try to get more thrash fans, we will totally not like it because we so cool!" That's fucking stupid but I've got to agree so I can has my respects in the internuts metal community, I so cool.

They've been mentioned quite a few times over the years, actually.

It's a band formed by Chuck Schuldiner... and while it's more of a prog/power metal band, the riffs are still high quality Shuldiner riffs!

Before he died, power/prog metal was his favorite styles of music - so that's probably why.

I still need to check them out though, they've been on my list of bands to check out for a while.

Also they're more like hardcore punk then metal, even if steele himself thought so.

Damn, that's kind of disappointing. Not that I don't love their more sludgy stuff, but Crack the Skye is easily their best record.

I'm just as bummed as all of you, but it's apparently because CTS songs aren't anywhere nearly as "fun" to play live. And I can see why, but still.
