I second that BrokeNCYDE recommendation especially if you like to get crunk.

New Morbid Angel is ridiculously bad. Can't say I'm surprised, but really, there is no excusing how bad it is.

It's hard for me to not think that Wintersun is a much better recommendation considering you've mentioned Children of Bodom.

I'll have to hear it for myself to decide if it's bad or not but if that's so, so much for their comeback...

Aaaaargh I have that on my computer and haven't listened to it.

It just annoys me how un-old school they are. I'm pretty certain I need to listen to their first two albums, apparently they are pretty different.

This is a rather interesting review. Open the Gates was my first Manilla Road album and while I love songs such as Metalstorm. Open the Gates and Road of Kings, I often find myself struggling to remember what some of the other songs sound like. Maybe they'll click onto me eventually. What I really liked about your review was the critique on the thrash metal vocals. That only makes me want to hear your thoughts on Mystification and The Courts of Chaos which have some very thrashy songs.

Ralf Scheepers' vocal style is heavily inspired by Rob Halford and Heading to Tomorrow is a good album by Gamma Ray. If you happen to enjoy Gamma Ray's music in general, be sure to check out Land of the Free and Power Plant, despite the different vocalist to Ralf Scheepers.

I really enjoy Gamma Ray, although for the first time ever I actually prefer the band's newer stuff. I'll make sure and check out the other bands. This club certainly has good reasons for being 2000+ pages.
Also, I saw your lock of the 'make a metal song in three steps' topic. Nice, the whole 3 steps thing was getting annoying, and it certainly didn't fit with metal.

Personally I'm not a fan of Gamma Ray's latest album. However, I do like Land of the Free II more than the majority. Sure, it has blatant Maiden and Priest ripoff moments but it's still a very fun album to listen to.

I always feel metal has a strong fanbase no matter how small a fanbase of one band is. Even some underground metal bands will be remembered by many fans long after they're gone. Who's going to remember Justin Bieber in five years time?

Yeah, I saw it as a dumb thread right from the start. You can tell the OP was being a stereotypist by relating all of metal to yelling. YOU CALL THIS YELLING?! This is the very song I have to use whenever some fuckhead says "metal is nothing but yelling and screaming."

Yup! I doubt you will like the new album... It's a mix of Modern Death with some technical riffs and some brutal grindcore elements. Insane Cephalic Production is pretty cool. You might like it...

I used to listen to Gamma Ray quite a lot back in my teenage years... But I just can't stand most of their stuff now. It's too goddamn cheesy !!!

12 things I learned during my stay in New York:

1. Chicks dig Irish accents
2. French and Chinese people. French and Chinese people everywhere
3. American chocolate is terrible
4. Loud black men like to sell watches on the streets
5. There are huge stores dedicated to M&Ms for some reason
6. Chileans are not great kissers
7. Lemonade is delicious
8. Chicks REALLY dig Irish accents
9. Most Americans are incredibly polite
10. Some Americans are incredibly rude
11. Mamma Mia really isn't that bad
12. If two Irishmen meet each other in a foreign city, they automatically become best bros

I got a Sabbath Bloody Sabbath LP, some Gamma Ray and Kamelot albums, and an Oscar statue with "World's Greatest Lover" on it for my girlfriend. A good wee trip, but I'm glad to be back home.

seriously though american chocolate is the worst how do you people eat that stuff my god

He'll probably be starring in low budget monster movies when he gets older.

I'm more happy with seeing him shot down on CSI. I'm not a big fan of the CSI shows but that scene was worth seeing.

Yeah, really nice to hate some kid for no reason whatsoever. Justin Bieber actually seems like a pretty cool person.

I'm beginning to think you're trolling now and I highly recommend you drop this bullshit behaviour right away. I don't generally like the kid but it was an amusing scene to watch. And besides, he was willing to play the role in that show.

I'm not all that big on Amon Amarth. I don't think they're a band I'll make my way to get all their albums. I do enjoy what I've heard in Versus the World, Twilight of the Thunder God and Surtur Rising but I feel there's a fair amount of filler in them. Still, Töck's Taunt - Loke's Treachery Part II is worth it alone for getting Surtur Rising.

What bullshit behaviour? I just don't think that it's reasonable for people to judge Justin Bieber's character just based on his music.

I'd say you're right about the new Morbid Angel album Dalnaki. I heard one song that was posted online and yeah, it's rather poor. I'll put it aside for the time being.

At 4/21/11 12:46 PM, DeIirium wrote: What bullshit behaviour? I just don't think that it's reasonable for people to judge Justin Bieber's character just based on his music.

So there's a problem that I was amused from one scene in the show for the cameo appearance of one person? I just identity Justin Bieber as a singer who's been well established over the last few years and liked the idea of his role in the show.

I advise you don't come in these threads with a bitter attitude. If you're not here to enjoy yourself, you're better off not coming here.

I've only listened to Altars of Madness and Blessed are the Sick. Both are worth checking out, even though Dalnaki might disagree with the latter. :P Still, I think it's worth checking out despite the inconsistency with the weird classical tracks in a death metal album. I wouldn't have minded an experiment but those tracks are out of place.

It's also Iced Earth day. :P That aside, klik was rather arrogant with his World Maiden Day thread. The worst response was a blatant trolling post that can't even be taken seriously. It could be worse, though considering it's the General forum.
