I don't have a definite favourite for Iced Earth but the ones I've enjoyed the most are Night of the Stormrider and Something Wicked This Way Comes, even if the track listing is inconsistent.

Not sure which Iced Earth albums you've listened to but I easily put Something Wicked parts 1 and 2 at the bottom. Yeah, even below The Glorious Burden. From Iced Earth, I still need the self-titled album, The Dark Saga and Horror Show. I've already listened to most of the songs from the self-titled album considering all except a song or two was re-recorded on Days of Purgatory.

Sadly there's still very much I have to listen to. Iced Earth was one of the bands I discovered when I was still downloading music, so the songs I know are from pretty much all the albums they released and yet I didn't had any complete albums. I listened to a few albums on simfy, though. :)

But you should put Horror Show high up on your "CDs I have to buy"-list, it's a very good album (and I bought it last year).
Damn, I can't find your list of CDs you own right now (and I don't want to go through all the pages... ^^), but if you haven't done so, you you should buy Alive in Athens, even if you already know all the songs on that album.

I would except my priorities with what to get on CD change all the time. I'm wanting to get the new Doomsword album but that'll be drowned from all the new releases plus releases by those artists over the next two months. I'll want to get a Tyr album to go along with their new album. Another example is getting another Symphony X album along with their new album Iconoclast. I only have three of their albums and feel I should have more than that.

Right here. You could also search "Bahamut's CDs" on google and it'll show up first result.

Yeah, I do want to get Alive in Athens eventually. However, live albums are always low priority unless I really like the particular artist or I see it for a really good price. I could have avoided Days of Purgatory at all costs but then I saw it for £2 on Amazon.

Sweet.

(If I missed anything, let me know.)

Did you get a chance to listen to Arghoslent? Galloping Through the Battle Ruins and Incorrigible Bigotry are pretty good albums if you don't care about the lyrical content. Not that you'd probably give a shit about stuff like that. I've just seen a lot of people with a hate on for them since they write racist shit. I don't know how crazy you'll be about them but I dig 'em.

I listened to Exhumed a while back. I love early Carcass, and will always have a soft spot for Carcass worship, so I was expecting to enjoy them a lot with my relistening, which I did. I listened to Gore Metal. Great album. Worshipping Carcass while putting your own spin on the ol' formula is always a plus in my book. I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Honestly They've been one of my favorite bands for a long time now. I remember going out and getting Platters of Splatter when I was 14 and being amazed by it. You should check out Slaughtercult and Anatomy is Destiny too. They've also got a whole album of covers of songs by Samhain and Master and Sadus and others. It's pretty good too.

Listened to Outre today. Meh. Showed promise, but it pretty much failed at delivering on said promise. I liked how dark the album was and all that shit, but to be honest, it kind of bored me. Fuck. Tried reading some creepypasta while listening to it. Better off reading while listening to Hérésie or Les Morts Vont Vite. Anyway, despite my complaints. I liked it. Somewhat. I'd give it a 3 out of 5.

I guess it's kind of an acquired taste. I love the atmosphere that they bring to their music, I've always been a fan of that. I really dig The Curator's vocals too. But yeah. If I had to say anything negative about it I'd probably pick on the drums. When you turn it up enough to hear the different layers you get more detail with them but predominantly all you hear are mid-pace blast beats. I love just grabbing a pair of headphones or going for a drive and turning it up as loud as I can so you get swallowed by the album.

Not yet. But I checked out a few track of Galloping Through the Battle Ruins, on youtube, and meh. Kinda boring. I read in a review that they're supposed to be NWOBHM meets death metal or something like that, meh. That makes me even more disappointed, because that's awesome, but this isn't. I'll check out Incorrigible Bigotry later. Hopefully it's better.

So I have to list 10 metal bands that I like?
OK. Easy enough.

1. Alice in Chains
2. Fozzy
3. Led Zeppelin
4. Metallica
5. Slayer
6. Alice Cooper, if he/they count at all.
7. Black Sabbath
8. Rob Zombie/White Zombie
9. Disturbed
10. Rammstein (you better fucking accept industrial German metal >:c)

I hope you find me and/or my tastes worthy of making it into such a prestigious crew.

Fozzy, Metallica, Slayer, Alice In Chains and Black Sabbath are all proper metal bands. Not the others, though. Led Zeppelin and Alice Coopers are more like rock bands. Rob Zombie makes Industrial/Hard Rock, Disturbed is Hard Rock/Nu-Metal and Rammstein is Hard Rock/Industrial/Electronic.

It's not that we hate them or anything, but they don't really qualify, especially considerin the kind of discussions we usually have in the Metal Hell.

I hope you find me and/or my tastes worthy of making it into such a prestigious crew.
Meh

If you can find another 5 metal bands to list, then we will be glad to welcome you. You can still lurk around, ask for recommandations and try listenning to some of the stuff we usually talk about. Have a good day :)

Well, I kind of adopted Bahamut's idea of the "Metal Monday" and thought it would be fun to try a "Metal-ABC", where I list one metal band for each letter of the alphabeth. I also try to not come up with the most obvious choices like "Iron Maiden" for "I" or "Metallica" for the letter "M", but I will try to find some lesser known bands for each letter. :)

I started just yesterday and will try to post a news post at least once every two weeks.

I've seen Alive in Athens for £10. For a 3CD album, that isn't too bad. However, prices for Horror Show are average so no low price steals there. At least I can find other artists who have albums sold for quite a cheap price. I'm tempted to get Saxon's debut album for £5.

I know power metal is usually cheesy but something about the unicorn puts me off. Maybe it's so bright in the middle and dark elsewhere. I haven't been a fan of their album covers since the return of the band. Triumph or Agony had a kickass album cover. Still, I'll be getting Rhapsody's new album and I'm really curious about the Iron Maiden cover they have as a bonus track.

Hmm, list metal bands you say?
Why not, this thread is awesome.
1. Judas Priest (personal favorite)
2. Black Sabbath
3. Yngwie Malmsteen
4. Metallica
5. Dio (out of Black Sabbath)
6. Iron Maiden
7. Metalucifer
8. Messiah's Kiss
9. Allied Forces
10. Nazareth

I personally think Rob Halford is just great (he was the Judas Priest singer until after the Painkiller album in 1990). His way of singing along with the ways of Dio and Yngwie are my favorite kinds of metal.

So, got a band in mind for X? :P
Actually, yes. ;)

This'll be interesting.

Now "J" is a very difficult letter if you count out Judas Priest... >_>

Yeah, Jag Panzer as already pointed out. The only other artists I could name under J are James LaBrie, John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess but considering that's going by first names, I'm not sure if they count.

I know plenty of bands who are signed to Nuclear Blast. Blind Guardian, Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody, Symphony X, Equilibrium and many others.

Dude I smoke weed. What were we talking about? :P

Nice to hear about Saxon again after all these years.
I saw them in 84 during the Denim & Leather tour.

You've seen everyone ya cunt.

They kicked ass live and blew away the headliner which was Motley Crue.

Rebecca Black could blow them away.

I was going to guess 'Scum' but I was wrong :)

It was called Senseless Death and it was a compilation of a few bands.
Well anyway one of those bands was Impulse Manslaughter in which my brother Karl was the lead singer.

That is fucking cool.

That in itself is pretty cool but what is really cool they have a song called Patton's Disease on it.

Is that the disease Mike Patton caught that turned him into an awesome genius or waaat.

Why I like this song is because I am one of the back up singers on it, in fact I have the very last words "I WANT A BEER!!!"

Righteous! Your voice is on a Nuclear Blast Records album.

Now the reason I bring this up is this, I was homeless when I went in the studio with the band.
In fact my remaining cash went to my brother for recording expenses.
But it was fucking worth it.
That day I saw a dream cum poo and a vagina eat a bowling ball full of dicks.

O_o

So yeah, keep jamming and working hard at it cause you never know.
Keep it Heavy.
Peace.

Inspirational bro. Always inspirational. I respect and bow to your inspirationalness.

You could of said you were going to watch Will and Grace with a vibrator in your pants and sound more hetero XD

I plan on being a well known heavy metal drummer someday. As far as 16 year old drummers go, I'm an amazing drummer, but it'll still take a shitload of practice to achieve my goal. There are a lot of great drummers these days, and I want to at least try to beat them all, somehow.

Cool story bro, I plan on being a guitarist. Add me on Facebook and when we get famous we can meet up and throw money at each other like a snow fight and fuck each other.
