I like them, but I've only listened to the album Arcane Rain Fell, and I heard they have better. I must find one of those better albums.

Some of it is pretty good. I've heard a few songs on Pandora and liked them.

I saw Pandora at the CD store yesterday, the cover is sexy :)
I hope the music is good !!

So I just started getting into Priestess. They're pretty sweet.

They're everything I wanted Death Angel to be, plus better mastering.

I've got Prior to the Fire, and I have Hello Master on the way. I suggest you check them out, 'specially if you're into stoner rock/metal.

I think he must have something personally against Metallica.

I don't know about you but joking about UltraBoris being Dave Mustaine just sounds highly appropriate here.

Yeah... So every single one of those bands with the exception of one Dr. Slaggleberry are pretty much either noisecore, deathcore, or straight up hardcore.
However, the last band featured on that compilation, Cyanide Serenity, I have to say are pretty damn good for being deathcore. I may go look them up.
However, if you're not particularly into any of the core variations I just mentioned, this album will have more comedy value than anything else.

I still love you, Soma.

In that case I'll have a look at First Daze.

Re: Iron Maiden
I always preferred the first 2 albums myself.
Especially Killers , their 2nd album.

I feel like I'm in the minority here but I find self-titled to be better than Killers. Killers is great and all but I feel it's missing something. Of course, the sound overall seemed different once Di'Anno left but he had to go.

Call me crazy but I actually enjoy the new Deicide album. I'll admit, I never really bothered with them except for when I borrowed The Stench of Redemption from a friend of mine years back but the full online streaming of the new album made me think "Why not give it a shot?" and I find myself enjoying it.

Eh, better that than saying "Battery has a good intro" but still giving the album 0%. However, that isn't saying much. Then again, Tepes has also done the same shit with this review.

"The albums starts out well enough, with three and a half minutes of an intro tune, and it's ok, functional enough."

Reviews mods on Metal Archives should make sure that 0's and 100's are not thrown around for no reason. And basically, they should ask people to try and give scores according to their reviews... or maybe just use their brains a little. I see almost no album that could deserve a 0... Except for Waking The Cadaver's albums or whatever...

I do my best to not mindlessly give out 100% for albums I really like. I've only written one 100% review so far and almost gave Epicus Doomicus Metallicus a perfect score but considering the one flaw I encountered, I knew I had to drop it by a point or two, even if it's one of my favourite metal albums of all time. I'm sure there's at least twenty albums I could give a perfect score for on the site but at least those albums deserve it!

To be honest, I could probably settle in their forums very well from what I've seen as a lurker there. I have tons to say about metal and everything I want to say can easily go there and add some discussion. Although I have the Metal Hell, not everything I say gets comments from others.

Metal elitism bullshit at its finest. So much for giving heavy metal the recognition it deserves as well as a bit of parody from a TV show and a video game.

I've already spoken my mind on that matter.

I think that a 100% is nothing like a 0%. When you give a 100% to an album, it's basically because you think the band did a perfect job on all the levels. But you just can't give a 0%. It's like saying... the musicians have no skills at all, the song-writting is just plain terrible (in fact, it doesn't even sound like music), the execution is lame, empty of feeling or personnality, the production is horrible and so, there is not a single good thing on the album.

That is just plain ridiculous... and it doesn't make any kind of sense...
If it was that horrible, there is absolutely no way you could have listenned to the whole thing.

At 2/11/11 06:25 PM, AllMightyBruce wrote: You guys give MA and it's community too much credit.

I like the website, but the fact that we are criticizing some of the reviewers, just prooves that we are not giving them too much credits. Actually, I'd be good if most of them were made to have a more realistic score. Even a mere 5% for "While the intro for this song is good" makes the score more honest.
