Maybe, but even if I was being sarcastic that doesn't excuse him for being a massive dick haha.

It's people like him that give metalheads a bad name, that's why a lot of people assume we're all pretentious dicks.

Maybe I should have had a discussion about metalcore with him..

I love metal like crackheads love anal. and crack.

Sorry that I haven't posted at all in like the past month, i've been busy with real life.

Anyway I thought you guys would like to know that my girlfriend and I got off a place two and a half hours ago in Miami.

Tomorrow we will be embarking on the 70 tons of metal cruise FINALLY. :D

Anyone else going?

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

They're like DRI or Cro-mags or Pro-Pain or Municipal Waste.

A.K.A. punk with thrash metal influences. (But metalheads who hate to admit that they're punk call them "crossover metal")

I wish. This is like a once in a lifetime chance. You and your girlfriend are extremely lucky for going. I don't know how much you needed to spend for this but... DAAAAMN!

In total, just a little over 4,000 bucks. (For both tickets to a two person ocean view room, for air travel, for tonights hotel room and for general spending money we'll have with us which we most likely will spend all of)

So yeah... it was a bitch to pay for, luckily abby pay for a good 3/4's of it i'd say. XD

Expect lots of pictures + stories in a week. :D

I really should give Suicidal Tendencies a try, though.

Definitely. Just avoid their newer shit. It gets very close to alt/nu metal, at one point, then back to hardcore/thrash. Their earliest stuff sounds the punkiest imo.

I feel this is my duty, to share some music from my own nation, Quebec.

You guys listen to

Métal Noir Québécois by the band Forteresse (Atmospheric Black Metal)

In 2010 was released the album Der Wanderer über Dem Nebelmeer by various artists. It's an amazing album so far. I love it :)

Main genres: Neofolk, Atmospheric Black Metal, Dark Ambient.

Artists who contributed to the album:

Fen
October Falls
Äldresjäl
Nechochwen
Musk Ox
Nachtreich
Agalloch & Mathias Grassow
Vindensång
Gallowbraid
Nebelung
Enmerkar
Oskoreien
Stroszek
Thayer Cabin
Dämmerfarben
Kehrä
Kauan
Quellenthal
Spectral Lore
Wandar
Carved in Stone
Schwarze Heimat
Underjordiska
Velnias
A Death Cinematic

Most of these bands deliver a solid performance. A must for neofolk, dark ambient and atmospheric black metal fans. I felt like a Wanderer Above The Sea Of Fog through the entire listenning of this album. Awesome stuff :)

Hey guys, I started writing reviews for a site called sputnikmusic. I've written a couple metal ones, including Voivod's Katorz, Fleshgod Apocalypse's Mafia, and Kreator's Renewal. I would like to hear what you guys think of them, and give me some good constructive criticism, and maybe suggest albums I should review. Any help would be appreciated!

Well guys... I don't know what the fuck is going right now... but I've been sharing hundreds of band names and recommandations for new albums, and no one even gives a fuck about replying to what I'm writting. What's the big deal? You guys don't like to learn about new artists or listen to some new albums? Or maybe you guys are just too lazy to reply to my posts?

Jeez... I know I'm going to get some replies saying how butthurt I am (probably with a useless picture from smeagol). But it's true guys... What could I possibly do if I want to share my thoughts on some great stuff I recently heard of... I don't all my stuff to fall into deaf ears...

Nobody cares about anything new or adventurous. Nobody really pays much attention to anything if it doesn't already interest them. I can name dozens of musicians that people have never heard of. I can definitely name some that don't fit any particular label. And yet, people tend to only want to hear what they want. If this weren't true, you'd hear shit like mr. bungle on the radio.

Response to Metal Hell 2011-01-25 01:04:35

To sum that all up: most people don't really "listen" to music, much less understand it. They just want some catchy jingle playing in the background while they search the web, or do dishes.

Who are you exactly...?

You don't know the guys from the Metal Hell... I've been a member for the last 4 or 5 years or so, and I've learned and shared a lot of music with these guys. All I'm saying is that lately, my posts on new albums or unknown artists to my fellow metal hell members, seem to have been ignored.

I have to admit that the place as been rather calm lately. Nev and Denta are not posting quite often enough and most of our most ancient members seem to be busy elsewhere.

I have some troubles when it comes to discovering new bands. If I find too many in a short amount of time I'll want to get several albums at once. I already have many albums to get right now so I try to keep artist discoveries to a minimum, unless I REALLY want to find new bands. The one band I'm looking into right now is Melechesh after hearing about the latest album from several sites.

Duff, I hear what you're saying. The only thing I have to say in return is that a lot of the time you mention bands that either A) I already know about or B) That you've mentioned before and which I just haven't commented on. I don't really get on a whole lot so I'm liable to not add comments and whatnot on bands that you say/new bands that I've discovered for a while after the fact.

Oh, and on what you were saying about tech death bands a while back: Seems like pretty much 90% are stuff like Beneath the Massacre, Within the Ruins, the sort of shit that people with a taste for variation like yourself and I can't stand. Then there are the gems, which I won't list because we both know the same ones anyways.

The upside is that once you find a good one it never gets old. :D
