They're all awesome, but definitely not for the queasy. My girlfriend watched the whole thing without me. I am so proud. I never even told her to watch it, she was so interested in it she watched it when I was at a family thing.

That's pretty metal right?

I wouldn't say it's metal, but it's a damn good movie in my opinion. I have all the McDonalds toys to prove it.

Wait, is that from the Classic Rock magazine or the CD itself? If it was just the CD, you'd have to purchase it outside the UK to get it considering CD release had to wait in the UK due to the magazine offer.

Their format is unchanging and this sort of thing seems to work, kind of in the way that AC/DC does.

Except Motörhead are miles better.

I am waiting for the deluxe edition to come out later this month.
It will have a dvd with the making of the album, concert footage, as well as an acoustic version of Ace of Spades.

If it has any concert footage of the recent show they did in Manchester let me know. I was at that show and they said they were filming the show so hopefully I'm on there.

Response to Metal Hell 2011-01-11 17:11:23

Actually, I just searched around and the documentary on the DVD says it has footage of the Manchester show. Definitely worth getting the DVD for that reason alone. I originally got the CD-only version since I didn't see the CD+DVD version on HMV at first. It's there now so all is well.

I tend to keep my head shoved up my ass when others mention bands that I've heard of but never listened to. In other news we have well over 2 feet of snow and I'm finally getting my Burzum and Bathory shirts.

I've gotten a lot of new metal albums. I forgot what most of them were. I got some more Mekong Delta and I got an album by Realm, which is also thrash metal. I've seen a lot of recommendations that I've been meaning to check out, especially by Dalnaki.

way to be ridiculously late to the party.

I hope Ulver makes a new album soon, preferably more like Blood Inside or Perdition City, or something completely different.

I don't think you know what I look like so you won't know if it's me or not on the camera. When I get the album (which could be this Saturday, even though I'm at the Manchester meet then), I'll watch the documentary and point out any parts where I can see myself. The Opeth DVD was a blow for me and my sister since we were hardly shown, despite being close to the front. I'm hoping Motörhead will show us at least once.

Yeah, I was the one who deleted that picture. Here's a rule of thumb when posting NSFW material: If it's something that you wouldn't feel comfortable seeing at work or if your parents are nearby, don't post it. You can do it elsewhere that allows porn but not the BBS. As for the other post, sorry but that one had to go as well. That too can be classed as NSFW.

You're entitled to an opinion and I respect that, but just because it's different to mine, doesn't mean it's right ;)

You should have waited until the actual CD it release. The DVD has footage of the Manchester Appollo show I went to.

Stuff similar to Mastodon's Remission and Leviathan. So I guess really good stoner metal?
We've already mentionned Blood Red Throne, I'm suprised you didn't check them out already. Also, Benighted.

I knew I forgot to mention a few bands in my list. I have indeed already checked them out and fucking love them. I've got this whole list you shot at me a while ago... Although I guess there's still a few things on it that I haven't listened to yet.

In other news, my protege is gauging his ears, dying his hair, and wearing shirts from Hot Topic.

Response to Metal Hell 2011-01-13 18:39:21

So, hypersomniax. I suggest you listen to Onirik, the Italian Death Metal band, not the Black Metal band from Portual. They make very good Death Metal, but they are quite a young band. So all I found by them was three songs on a split they did with Fleshgod Apocalypse and two other Italian DM bands. I know they also have a demo, but I didn't listen to the tracks on it.

So I love Demilich so much I'm going to start working on a tribute song. It will be entirely based off the rule of thirds, because Demilich abuses the rule of thirds.
