I may not listen to Six Feet Under, or Cannibal Corpse....But I try to listen to bands that are low pro, i hate main stream, like Korn, and Slipknot....Metal is Metal..No matter what it is, I respect the older, more unreknown bands, but just because I would perfer to listen to Devildriver or Chimaira doesnt make me a poser....

Shadows fall is metalcore, and Heaven Shall Burn is metalcore, too, I think. Death metal occupies a rather small portion of metal, actually. None of those bands I listed were death metal.

Death metal is bands like Obituary and Cannibal Corpse and Deicide.

Black metal is bands like Mayhem, Dissection, and Emperor

Avante Garde is bands like Borknagar, Meshuggah (later) and Ulver (later)

Ambient metal is stuff like Burzum, Midian/Kali Yuga, and Nargaroth.

Nobody forced you to post in this thread. This thread is about metal. Most of us agree Korn isn't metal. Metalcore is borderline, as most of us can agree. I didn't say I only liked metal, but this thread is for people who like metal, not rock or punk outgrowths. We talk about metal, not punk and rock outgrowths. You should start a thread based around the music you like.

What "other metal" are you talking about? We don't consider it metal because it's not. Hardcore is not metal, which is what a majority of your listed bands are. Go to www.metal-archives.com. If it's not there, it's no metal.
