Thanks for all the feedback.
And happy new year and stuff.
Liberals defend the exploitation of man by man, Conservatives defend the reverse.

Well, that's 2010 over and done with. Overall, it wasn't as good as I expected it to be. The highlight for 2010 in heavy metal has to be reunions with John Cyriis and Agent Steel, David Ellefson and Megadeth and Joey Belladona and Anthrax. It's good to see these guys returning to the bands they were best known for and I sure hope they can make a great contribution to their new albums. Release-wise, it didn't meet my expectations. I was hoping 2010 would be a great year for metal releases but it's been a mixed bag. You've got really good albums (Blind Guardian's At the Edge of Time and Overkill's Ironbound) and then there's really weak albums (Gamma Ray's To the Metal and Angra's Aqua).
For 2011, there's still many releases to look forward to but I shouldn't put my expectations too high to avoid disappointment like with 2010. Still, new albums from Stratovarius, Megadeth, Opeth, Candlemass and more? I have to anticipate for their new albums.

Well, Agent Steel and Symphony X should be putting out new albums in 2011, (and Anthrax, but that albums has been delayed like 4 years.) and several other bands that I enjoy, so I am looking forward to 2011. Now guys, what was your favorite album of 2010? Mine was Sigh's Scenes from Hell. I usually don't like black metal a whole lot, but that album blew me away. That album, plus Solefald's new album and Enslaved's new album, I am starting to enjoy black metal a whole lot more.
Proud Demon residing in the METAL HELL!
Lay down your soul for the god's rock n' roll!
One of the last photos I took for 2010, I'm very proud of my woods for being so grim and tr000!
Today at work I was feeding a resident and cleaning a room while I was listening to Train of Thought by Dream Theater. Fucking METALLL.

Oh wait, sorry, wrong discussion....

Thanks, and I also suggest you listen to The Spear of the Lily Is Aureoled by the band Sculptured. If you like progressive metal, you should like them. These guys are just amazing :)

The last 10 years or more have been totally gay yeah.
Images and Words and Awake are incredible albums though, their 2nd and 3rd full lengths. Fucking stunning progressive metal.
Under a Glass moon is sick, was listening to that yesterday.

Images and Words and Awake by Dream Theater are only rarely beaten in terms of prog metal brilliance.
Happy new year and stuff, I had a good one :)
I've never liked hip hop but I liked that track. I'm quite surprised hey.
Brandon Westgate lands shit so fucking clean in makes me rage.
Took me five seconds lol. Rhymes Monumental. I like it.
And what the fuck, apparently their a christian rap band and I think it's tight. What the fuck is up with me.

Yeah, the new Anthrax album is taking as long as Time. Anthrax need to focus on the studio in the new year so they can get it out at long last. As for Wintersun, more and more news is coming up regarding progress on the album but it's still soon to build up any hope, just like Duke Nukem Forever...
Just recently got Sonata Arctica's album Reckoning Night. I'm listening to it now, and loving it!
I recently came into an I Tunes giftcard so I ended up buying The Dark Ride by Helloween since it was a cool 7.99
Got some other songs too but none of that was metal except Dammerung by Equilibrium, because I love that song
I just as psyched as can be for the new Obscura album that's supposed to drop sometime March this year.
I really hope they stick with the style of Cosmogenesis, because even though Retribution was super dope, I liked the Cosmogensis style better.
I need a guitarist and a drummer!!!! I just wrote something that was singing in my head while i was walking the frozen woods. It's going to sound beautiful., if I had to describe how it sounds it's a slow atmospheric folk/black metal sound. It needs to be produced it has both clean and growl vocals in it.
Id like to get it into the audio portal maybe.

I can do that. Why don't you hook me up with some details bro. I hope you're okay with programmed drums.
So I have the Dream Theater album Train of Thought and thought (no pun intended) it was pretty alright. I mostly got it to listen to John Petrucci's shredding as well as some beastly drumming. Then yesterday it hit me, the pure musicianship, talent, and awesome music they made blew my mind. Any other albums I should check out?

Sucks that I don't have a drum kit and a microphone, I'd get you a poorly mastered super black drum track.

Drums? If it's black metal you might as well just make it some pots and pans or something.
It's a slow song, if I were compare to bands to sounds it would be a Agalloch/Enslaved fusion. I'll message you all in the morning who made offers.
I've recently started a new project covering 52 metal songs in 2011. One post will be made every week and I've already started with my first one. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It's a good album. I have troubles deciding which Sonata Arctica album is my favourite but I consider Reckoning Night more than the others.

Damn right! If you really like The Dark Ride, I highly recommend Gambling With the Devil and 7 Sinners. It continues the dark and heavy style of Helloween and is generally favoured by modern Helloween fans.

What else from Dream Theater have you listened to? Seeing you're taking an interest in Train of Thought I think Black Clouds & Silver Linings is the next album to look into.
Ewww no way. Black Couds and Silver Linings is their weakest effort ever, Systematic Chaos is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY YYYYYY better.
Get Systematic Chaos dude, it's the best modern DT album.
Train of Thought I enjoyed a little when I was 14 and stuff but now I fucking think it's pretty lame and cheesey and stuff, apart from the good song on it. Which is the instrumental.
If you weren't listening last time I made a post, Images and Words and Awake completely pwn every other DT album.
Guys (Except Sensey, he already has it), go get Frank Zappa's Hot Rats. It fucking rules about 100 times more than Lamb of God do.

That's isn't particularly noteworthy since my dogs shit rules about 100 times more than LoG do.

I got it a while ago, and it's SEXEH.

I had a listen to a few songs on youtube and I really liked it, some damn good prog.
