It does show some light on the album but me and my sister joked about how the band will end up cancelling those shows and still be buried away from the work they need to do on the album. It's still hopeful, though.

So, there is some new on Obscura's new album.
"Omnivium" is slated for release in the spring. Hopefully they continue with the same style from Cosmogenesis, because although I liked Retribution, to me, Cosmogenesis really defines the Obscura that I love.
Is it spring yet?

I order a t-shirt recently, and it seems that the band members are doing all the job of selling and shipping their own merchs. I'm not quite sure what he meant in his message. I think he asked me if it was ok to change the size to a Large or a Small. I told him I need to have Medium size. Small being too small and large being too large... Medium is what I need :P

I'm also a Medium faggot, but Small makes me look sexier.

I sent a letter to Varg. He still hasn't replied though.
Awh man, I went through Dalnaki's most recent shouts on last.fm... I can't believe this guy, he went to Abigail Williams vocalist profile page and suggested the guy listens to Suicide Silence to get more inspiration.
How can you be such a dick? I'm actually pretty emotionnaly confused right now... I don't know if I should laugh or cry. The fight that went on in-between the two guys is just hilarious.

What's your problem with that anyway? If it was never mentionned in here before, why is it bad that I mention it now?...

His inability to distinguish between black metal and deathcore does worry me.

Well, I wouldn't say Abigail Williams are Black Metal. Through their discography they have released some Metalcore, some Symphonic Black Metal and some Black Metal (their last album) material. So I think that having some metalcore influences in your music is pretty much enough of a reason to justify some insults in your shoutbox, from Dalnaki :P

There is still no link between this and the fact that I posted comments about something that happenned 2 months ago. What's the big deal anyway ? I just thought it was funny and that I could share this with the guys from the Metal Hell. If you think it's unfunny, that's fine... but what's the big deal ? Why do you even bother telling me this.
Anyway, I wanted to ask you guys a little question about a song. I only found it in two parts on YouTube. And I don't think the whole song is even there... Anyway, you'll still pretty much be able to answer my question even if you don't get to hear the whole song. My question is, does this count as Drone?
Part 1: Scars Of The Shattered Sky (Our Fortress Has Burned To The Ground)
Part 2: Scars Of The Shattered Sky (Our Fortress Has Burned To The Ground)
I honestly forgot about those Sorceron shouts. All I remember is my friend wanted me to bash him. So I did.

Nah I wouldn't classify that as Drone myself, more ambient/atmospheric for the first like 3/4's of the song. And the last part sounds like good old Agalloch, not droney at all.
I would like to say thank you to Duff for continuosly mentioning Abigail Williams in here. On my weekly record store run, I saw In The Shadow of A Thousand Suns for about $9. So I picked it up, and I love it. Thanks Duff!

Nice find man, Abigail Williams rock metalcore influences or not.
I gotta get their new album that has apparently dropped all metalcore sound and even the keyboards.
Kinda sad though I really liked the intro for Into The Ashes.

In The Shadow Of A Thousand Suns is a great album. All the tracks are great and unique. When I first got into AW, I overlooked the EP named Legend and didn't pay enough attention at first. I guess I just had something against EPs back then... But I recently decided to go through these five tracks, and these my friend, are gems !! If you don't already know about these, I really suggest you listen to these 5 tracks.

I only heard one or two tracks from the newest album. It didn't really catch my attention. Dunno why but so far, I'm not liking it as much as their previous work. I'll eventually give it another listen though. I hope to find some more awesome tracks on it :)
You guys are like, pussies and shit.
New Ramesses is fucking mint. I suggest y'all get it.

Or even the behaviour of someone on another site? What he does outside this site shouldn't be any of my concern but for Last.fm, I know the mods there can be strict if you're going to troll someone. Your first chance may be your only one.

Man... Why do you feel like you have to teach lessons to people like this? Ever since you became a mod, you've just became annoying and over-confident. Why is it that something that happenned on another website cannot be discussed here? And why is it that the fact it happenned two months ago should even change ANYTHING? I never heard of it before, it's not old news to anyone in here, since no one has heard of it before. You use the word "should" as if you had the facts and that this was just all about common sense. I thought it was funny because we all know how Dalnaki his and it's funny to see how he even goes towards band members he doesn't like to mess with them. Why do you guys just have to pick on me for worthless jokes like these ???

I don't fucking care! Why do you have to be such a fucking bitch? If you don't fuckin' care then fine. But just shut the fuck up! I thought it was funny that Dalnaki, who is a member of the Metal Hell, picked a fight with the frontman of one of my favorite bands. Why don't you fucking mind your own business? Nothing is restrainning me from posting about stuff like this. Some people answered to my post. You are not interrested, FINE! But why don't you get off my back?!

Drone, no. Boring, yes.

Well... it's just a bonus track. It's ambient... I think it's pretty cool. Not a masterpiece of any sort. But it's ok.
I hate it when a stupid metalhead comments on youtube or wherever: "HEAVY METAL RULES! PUNK ROCK SUCKS!". Seriously, there's no need for that, also, it's even more stupid saying that because without punk rock, heavy metal wouldn't have evolved like it did... Without punk rock we wouldn't have thrash, and without thrash, death and black, basicly, without punk rock, metal wouldn't have got as extreme as it did. And even the bands from NWOBHM were very influenced by punk rock. I may not be the greatest fan of punk rock, but I respect it, and I also like some bands. So every Metalhead who says: "YEAH! METAL RULES, PUNK ROCK SUCKS LOLOLOL!" don't deserve to be a metalhead.

I wanted to ask how you guys would classify this
Because now I realised I got confused between these two titles by Agalloch. The link in this post leads to the song I wanted to show you guys. Is it drone ? :O

Death and Black evolved completely independently from Thrash, hell they didn't even start on the same continent.

I wouldn't be suprised to hear the song on a Drone album. But having an Ambient song doesn't make a band Drone for me. Otherwise you could pick out songs by Sigur Rós and say they were Drone.

How does that make Death and Black impossible to evolve from Thrash?
And clearly, the first Death Metal and Black Metal bands have a thrashy sound.

It was not my intention to classify Agalloch as Drone based on this song only. We all know that this isn't the typical kind of track found on a Agalloch's record. Thanks though

I'm with you on this one. The first Death Metal and Black Metal bands, no matter where they came from, have obvious Thrash Metal influences.

Actually, the NWOBHM bands got semi famous for merging punk elements (like the speed and a "edgier" sound) with metal, toning down the blues of previous metal bands, and the NWOBHM influenced A LOT of metal. So I would say yes, Metal needed punk rock to evolve like it did.

Is it me or there is a confusion between Punk and Punk Rock. These two genres being pretty different. I don't know a lot about that music. The Clash, The Ramones, Misfits or The Sex Pistols are those bands we call Punk. And Punk Rock would be more of a Pop version of that music, with far more 90's rock influences. With bands like Rufio, Bad Religion and The Offspring, I say Punk Rock and Punk are two pretty different musical genres.
