Seen it's been a good nine pages since I last posted, here's a big one for all ya.
I've gone to two concerts since I last came here:
On the 29th of october I went to see THE DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT and TESSERACT.
TesseracT were basically 40 minutes of meshuggah worship with clean vocals, it wasn't bad but nothing special either - I certainly enjoyed seeing them live than seeing the real meshuggah live.
Also, their vocalist had the best accent ever.
Devin Townsend was easily the funnest band i've ever seen live(not the best, funnest)
Devin townsend setlist which I got at the end:
Addicted
Supercrush
Kingdom
Deadhead
Truth
Om
By Your Command
Life
Gaia
Bad Devil
ENCORE:
Bend It Like A Bender
Color Your World
The Greys
Deep Peace
HIGHLY recommend you all seeing Devin Townsend eventually. :)
On the 6th of this month I saw Firewind, The Absence and Powerglove in NYC.
I got their during the last song of powerglove, but from what I could tell they were just as good as the other times i've seen them. The Absence were quite enjoyable, but I was honestly a bit bored despite honestly enjoying their music.
Firewind was also AMAZING but I can hardly remember anything about it, other than the fact that firewind have pretty sexy girls lifting up their shirts for them.
Tomorrow I am going to see SUICIDAL TENDENCIES with D.R.I., the cro-mags, underdog, death before dishonor, dead ellington, lifeloss, los bungalitos, Revenge and Shoot To Kill. Ten punk bands for 30 bucks, sweet fucking deal. :D
THREE BEST ALBUMS OF THE YEAR SO FAR:
New Agalloch
New Electric Wizard
New Atheist
Seriously.

So I'm going to try out for a spot in a progressive metal band.
Play a random Dream Theater solo and you're guaranteed to get the spot.
It's funny because it's kind of true.

Have any of you guys listened to UFO? They are a great early hard rock/heavy metal band. Actually, just found them recently when I was listening to my Scorpions radio on Pandora. I suggest you check them out if you are a fan of early heavy metal.
They're great stuff, they were actually really popular back in the day.
But like all TRULY good bands, they were abandoned by time.

LOL WUT? Apparently everyone here has forgotten that this guy has gotten in more arguments in this club than ANY other user. Hell, this guy is more argumentative than PONOS combined with Dalnaki.
Plus, everyone who voted for him joined the club in the past six months.
Talk about bullshit.
BUT YAY, BAHAMUT.

Melo Death faggots, they're annoying but me.
The way I see it, there's two types of melodeath whores:
1.) Posers that only like in flames, children of bodom, arch enemy, amon amarth and soilwork - everything else they like is core.
2.) People with actual taste in melodic death metal like Insomnium and the like.

Bands or artists with a shitty fanbase?
Pantera - why? obvious answer is obvious
"Oldschool metal" fans in general - why? Almost all of them refuse to acknowledge metal after 1994.
And of course: Children Of Bodom - Why? THEIR FANS ARE THE MOST RETARDED AND BLINDLY COCKSUCKING GROUPS OF POSERS EVER. DHSDFSDFGDFF
Seriously, if I could chose ONE musician in the world today to drop dead it would be Alexi Laiho.

you know what i hate? When theres a really good band that you get into but hate the large percentage of their fans, know what I mean? For example, I really like Tool but I hate the fans because most of them are pretentious douchers who analyze everything about the band. Anyone else get that same feeling?
I hate the fact that I love Dream Theater purely because a lot of their 'true' fans are dicks that don't know anything about anything.

What's everyone's favourite metal guitar solo?

And, that guitar solo on metallica's st. anger - you guys know the one.... Oh wait. ;)
In all seriousness, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too broad of a question.

Has anyone heard anything off Helloween's new album?
Debating whether or not to check it out right away
Do yourself a favor and just listen to Walls of Jericho instead.

Every helloween album after their 3rd one is just....overkill.
