Yeah, that was one of the ones that came up on Youtube that I was digging. Also the Black Waltz seems like a pretty good album.

Black Waltz was ok, I guess. It was more then decent, a pretty good album in fact, but Swampsong is definitely their best. The rawest and most agressive of all. The Will Return is a Melodic Death Metal masterpiece, with some of the greatest keyboards I ever heard in Metal. And 12 Gauge is the best of their most recent albums.

I'd like some explanations on why people call them crabs and crabcore all the time. Where did you guys take this from?
During the breakdowns, they crouch down and look like crabs. It's lame.

lol, that's great!

It's not a genre lol, but since they talk about swamp all the time, I guess their fans just thought they should give them a new genre name, like with Finntroll, that now plays Troll Metal or Turisas with their Battle Metal.

Which one is the best Soilwork album?

That makes sense, because I didn't really see anything that stuck out to separate them from other bands of the genre.

I say Stabbing The Drama, but Steelbath Suicide is also pretty good :)

I just realised a new Electric Wizard came out the other day. Wasn't even aware they had a new album due for this year. I don't think I'll get it, though since I'm not sure how good it is. I only have Dopethrone right now and I think it's best to turn to you guys and suggest which Electric Wizard album I get next. It could take a couple of months or years but I'll eventually get around to it and refer back to your recommendations so post away!

Yeah, that's the only album I have by them too. I can only listen to them in moderation because of the vocalist, shit just gets on my nerves for some reason.

And in response to Kalmah's Swamplord being their best album, I completely agree now. I bought a compilation album of Swamplord/They Will Return and I'm loving it.

other electric wizard albums you guys should get:

1. "Come My Fantatics..."
2. Let Us Prey
3. We Live!

all their albums are good but those three are the next three to get after dopethrone in my opinion. i haven't listened to much of witchcult and i only recently got black masses, but both are good so you might as well get them, too.

Response to Metal Hell 2010-11-03 15:13:31

Hey, you guys ever hear of Mekong Delta? Pretty good technical thrash metal band, but the reason I mention them now is because I recently heard their Black Sabbath mashup. It's hilarious, my favorite line is probably "Iron man of the grave."

I said Swampsong is their best, though Swamplord is pretty similar to it. It's just that Swampsong's songs are more memorable for me.

Witchcult Today and Come My Fanatics, definitely. After that I'd say get either We Live or Let Us Prey. I really like Night of the Shape. I have it on one of my "chill" playlists on my Zune. It's not in their usual style.

They're pretty good. I liked their version of Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain

So what I would consider to be one of the best bands in the UK at the moment, Taint, are disbanding. It's a shame, because if they were in a more lively scene, like Georgia for example, they'd be as well known as Mastodon, Baroness, Kylesa and the like.

Response to Metal Hell 2010-11-04 19:52:31

Probably Electric Wizard.

Agree times 100

Also ive been just addicted to Avant-garde metal lately, been cranking Arcturus all day, safe to say its been a good day.

So this band Withered... What are their best albums? They're fucking sick.

Response to Metal Hell 2010-11-05 04:49:22

Depends which one you're taking about. The US one? If so then I dig Momento Mori and their new one Dualitas. Dualitas is pretty good so I'd recommend that over Momento Mori but they're both good.

Yeah the American one. Thanks man. I'd heard one of their tracks on the METAL SWIM, "Extinguished With the Weary" (though for some reason they called it extinguished with the misery) and it was definitely one of the rawest tracks I've heard in a while. I'd go so far as to say it's eve one of the best tracks on METAL SWIM.

Funny you should mention them, I was listening to my iTunes earlier and it started playing that track, thought it was pretty sick so I'm definately gonna get one of their albums now.

I love metal like crackheads love anal. and crack.

Come My Fanatic seems to be a popular vote here so I'll look into that next. As I said before, not sure when I'll get it but it'll be one to keep in mind.

In other news, I'll be seeing a Megadeth tribute band tonight. I missed out on Megadeth in June due to them being exclusive to Download in the UK as well as it happening around my grandad's 80th birthday. This show will do for me, especially when it coincides with Bonfire Night.

That song kicks ass. Also, I think the album Let Us Prey is awesome, rifftastic.

Shit, I can't stand Soilwork, I hate the vocalist voice, it's so Nu Metal...

Do yourself a favor and just listen to Walls of Jericho instead.

So yeah, I totally just watched a 4 hour live stream of Imogen Heap's show in London. It was torture, knowing I had a seat there, empty, crying for me but unable to get to it :(.

Only Idio would care.

It's not that good. If you are a die hard Helloween fan, sure. But if you are a regular fan, skip it.
