So i been thinking for awhile we should have special honors or titles for members.

like specific metal type experts of the crew

Like Ani would be the expert thrash member.

Heavenduff I think would be our power metal person (correct if im wroung)

Bill and Pornos would be our stoner doom experts

Myself would be the black metal expert (im known as a black metal wizard in my area)

I really want to promote this and contribute something good to Metal Hell.

give me your thoughts.

Isn't AniMetal the Power Metal guy in here? Or more like... Speed, Thrash, Power stuff and the like?

Heavenduff I think would be our power metal person (correct if im wroung)

I don't know where you got this from. I'm not a pro of any genre, I like plenty of artists of many genres. I may know a little more of the tech death scene maybe, but that would still be a stretch.

Bill and Pornos would be our stoner doom experts

Bill is more into the older metal genres, maybe early doom and heavy metal. I dunno about Ponos, while he's a big fan of stoner and em... maybe doom, can't say I remember all of the guy's tastes. I still think he's an all around metalhead.

Myself would be the black metal expert (im known as a black metal wizard in my area)

I don't know bro, I know a few black metal bands, and a lot of the other guys could also pretend to that title.

I really want to promote this and contribute something good to Metal Hell.

give me your thoughts.

I'm not too sure about the idea. It's not like we have a very specific structure here in the Metal Hell. Only rule we follow is about who we allow and who we do not allow in the Metal Hell. I guess we could add some more stuctures and special shits like the one you mentionned. But how could we really determine who's the guy with the best knowledge of said genres?

Too many of us are what we could call "all-around metalheads" or whatever... to tell if there is any "pro" of specific genres amongs us.

Man I love that film! The first one was awesome but the second one is pretty brutal thanks to the dudes getting killed in first person, it's crazy shit right :P

As for the guy who got Taake's drumstick... You definitely had one of the greatest experiences in the world. In fact, just seing that show live, is way more grim then setting the fire to a church.

Sounds sexy

Speaking of good, has anyone checked out the new Cephalic Carnage album? If yes, what are your thoughts? I'm debating buying it but I've only heard one song off it, and I'm not convinced.

The one good thing I can see coming out of this is that there is a "go-to" guy for certain genres. Say you want a some recs u say "Hey -insert name here- I need some good -insert genre type here- bands. I would like your input" But every time I've asked that, I've gotten recommendations from everyone, which finds me some good bands.

Back from seeing Caretaker, Latitudes and Kruger.

What an awesome show. I didn't care much for Caretaker, which wasn't helped by them being over an hour late, but Latitudes were awesome. Just an intense atmosphere, it was a shame they had to cut their set short because of troubles with their guitars.

Before Kruger came on we got told to leave because we didn't have ID, so we just went round to the other side of the crowd. Kruger were amazing, their vocalist is really energetic. He kept going into the crowd and singing to each person, I got a hug from him and another guy gave him a piggyback. They played everything perfectly and it was just fuckwin.

I got a poster for For Death, Glory and the End of the World, a Kruger shirt and a Latitudes shirt.

Also as a side note this is the Swiss Kruger, not the Russian one.

I was kinda trying to make something for new members to ask members who have more knowledge on a type of metal. To help them find more bands they would like, certain r members can help the younger metal head find bands of a certain type.

like say i'm a new member looking for power metal we would refer him to Animetal.

do you know what I am saying? (south park reference)

After Forever is another band in that genre, their last two albums are decent but nothing really special. Everything they've released before that though is amazing.

It's not bad, it's just 100% iron maiden worship.

And to be honest, I actually highly dislike all iron maiden outside of Seventh Son Of The Seventh Son and Somewhere In Time.

Oh man, I don't even know where to start - i've meet so many lesser bands and have so many stories.

I suppose the most epic are:

3.) After seeing Pro-Pain, Sworn Enemy(LOL) and Mantic Ritual in 2008, mantic ritual gave me a ride home and a free t-shirt in exchange for letting them crash at my house.
2.) Hanging out with the guys in Sonata Arctica after their headline show here in april, I hung out with them for about two hours. :D
1.) Getting to meet and talk to all the guys in Slayer, Megadeth and Testament this summer at the american carnage tour. (although, this was expensive as fuck to do - it was worth it)

Kind of. I'm basically wicked into a lot of metal.

I'm wicked into power, thrash, progressive, oldschool death, sludge, doom, avant-garde and folk. Haha

In my book, children of bodom is worse than slipknot. Why?

Slipknot don't steal riffs, bash other bands for no reason, get wasted on stage and they didn't become famous because they look like pornstars.

Slipknot suck, but in my opinion COB are a million times worse. (COB's first album is decent though)

I love metallica, what are you on about?

RTL, MOP and AJFA = incredible
KEA, the black album, death magnetic = Decent (death magnetic took me a long time to get into, I remember before I started liking it having a argument with you about it. So I can see why you think this)
Everything else = LOL worthy

Slayer I only got into about four or five months ago, but even now that I DO like them I still think they're highly overrated and that their are COUNTLESS better thrash metal bands.

19-year-old John D. McCollum kills himself with a .22 caliber handgun after spending the day listening to Ozzy Osbourne records. One year later, McCollum's parents file suit against Ozzy and CBS Records, alleging that the song "Suicide Solution" from the album Blizzard of Ozz contributed to their son's death. Except that the song's subject was quite plainly alcohol addiction. The case is eventually thrown out of court.

There's also the case where a parent sued Judas Priest for subliminal messages in their lyrics that "made" their kid commit suicide. Sacred Reich even made a song about it. There's also the Senate hearing where they tried to pain heavy metal as EVIL. If you listen to Dee Snider's response to their comments, it's pretty funny because he blew their argument out of the water and called them sick fucks at the same time.

No... Whitechapel... Job for a cowboy... and stuff like that... is DeathCORE. Deathcore and Death Metal are two totally different musical genres. For actual Death Metal, check bands like Suffocation, Death, Blood Red Throne, Benighted, Obscura, Atheist, Origin and stuff like that. Need anymore Death Metal suggestions, just ask me :)

Deathcore is a musical genre that takes song structures, chords progressions, riff paterns and the kind of riffs most likely found in hardcore music. Hense the suffix core. The word Death, was taken from Death Metal. Only possible similarities between the genres would be the Death growls, guitar tuning, production sound and maybe some of the drumlines. Very few bands would qualify as both Death Metal and Deathcore.

Waking The Cadaver

Hear the pig squeals, frequent breakdowns, chug riffs, hardcore shouts. That's Deathcore.

Blood Red Throne

I can't find any other way than FUCKING AMAZING!!! To describe this music... but that might be a biaised point of view :P That's Death Metal.
