No, it's the fact that Dio is more power metal, and that doesn't translate well to metalcore, and it sounds awful.

I really do not hear any power metal in any dio song. then again i just like to consider him heavy metal, nothing against power metal or anything.
speaking of dio, isn't it ironic that before he died the last song he made was called "Metal Will Never Die"? I think thats badass as hell.
This be still active? Never seen this before surprisingly. Uhm... my favorite bands are Mnemic, Meshuggah and Fear Factory... I also like many other epic bands like Dagoba, As I Lay Dying, Chimaira, Eryn Non Dae, Aborted, Whitechapel and lots of others. Anyone like any of these? If you do, we'll get along nicely. :P
Oh, and I can't forget Gojira. Listening to them right now.
I need corpse paint ideas. GO GO GO!

Ok... please stop doing that... Your three posts are not answers to anybody else's post and could have fitted in one post...
If you want to share a few things with us, jam them up together in one post please. And also try to keep up with discussions or start discussions and avoid dumping irrelevant stuff on the BBS.
Em... would this count as backseat modding?... I hope not... sorry if it is...
I would also suggest that the Metal Hell becomes the Awesome Music Hell, cause there should definitely be a place for Post-Rock in here :)

Oh you know I do, I might just do one song cover.
Lack of practice.
has anyone ever met any musicians from a concert you were at? whether it be for a signing or chance luck.
I got the chance to meet Mastodon at Mayhem Fest for a signing and it was damn sexy. but seriously they were really cool and nice guys. Brent Hinds looked sloshed that night too lol.

I've met the guys of Threat Signal plenty of times. First time I saw them, me and my friends told them we would go to their next show in Montreal with Dark Tranquillity. They were pretty happy to have such devoted fans :P A month later, we all did go to the said show and we met the vocalist before their set and we had a talk with the drummer before Dark Tranquillity started playing.
Twas pretty awesome :P
I've also shaked hands with DT's vocalist.
That makes me think of something I want to ask the Metal Hell. Any of you guys have some special memories from gigs?
I remember falling in between the stage and the security ramps while bodysurfing at Stratovarius show in Montreal, back in 2006. I gave the horns with a powerful scream toward Timmo Tolki and he smiled back at me. I also remember falling on the stage after bodysurfing at Kalmah's show. Again, I gave the horns to the vocalis, Antti Kokko, he gave me the weirdest fucking look ever... but it was one of the funniest shits ever :P
I'll try and think about some other funny shit to tell you guys, but your turn now :P
Does shaking hands with them after a set when they leave the stage count as meeting?
If so, I've 'met' the vocalist from It Dies Today (metalcore/hardcore band, oh dear D:). I touched Marten Hagstrom's 8 string, so I've technically met him...I made eye contact with Jens, and we both nodded at each other in agreement as if to say 'Fuck yeah'. Oh, and Haake giving me his drum stick will always to me, count as a 'meeting'.
Talked to the vocalist from Anno Domini, and the guitarist too. Also talked to the vocalist from Darker Half.

I went to a Threat Signal concert and I think either the singer or guitarist sold me an awesome shirt. I was the youngest person there. xD
The only band member I have met was the bassist from a sludge band called Armed for Apocalypse. It was at a metal festival and Kamelot was playing, he was just walking through the festival area and he came to tell me that I had a cool t-shirt.
I haven't met any band members from the shows I've attended. The closest I had was Hansi seeing me with the camera to take a picture of him. At Heidenfest, after the show I was told the earlier band perfomances were around the bar and if me and my sister stuck around long enough, we could have met the contributors to Twilight of the Gods. Shame we didn't do that.

I think explaining it as demonstration of Dio sounding like -core is insulting enough.

If you get the feeling your post sounds like backseat modding, it's best to not say anything at all. Don't worry, I won't be handing out a ban to you but it's something to keep in mind for future reference. :) As for FlashfireEX's posts, they don't seem to be much different from smeagol's random posts here. :P
I've met all the major people in Vital Remains except for Glen Benton. I was really bummed I couldn't meet him that night.
I personally think they should use the touring vocalist for albums instead of Glen.

Someone made a post-rock club a few weeks back, it doesn't get much attention so it would be a bit cruel to kill it off like that. As far as I know though Post-Metal is fair game for both clubs.
not metal at all, but... do you guys like fugazi? i like fugazi. i've been listening to this song a ton since last night.
on the subject of metal, i got high with a bunch of my friends last night in my friend chloe's room and i was looking through people's libraries using home sharing, and one girl's library had death and municipal waste and you can bet that we listened to it.

I just hate Killswitch Engage vocalist voice.

Well, Insomnium guys just passed right behind me, but I'm a shy motherfucker, and I didn't even screamed, "Terve!" or "Hei!"...

Correct. We should ban smeagol two :P
Man, do we like metalcore in this fucking place? Anyway. I saw a movie the other day. A Spanish movie named Rec2, one I recommand to all of you guys. This movie was so Metal, I loved it!
As for the guy who got Taake's drumstick... You definitely had one of the greatest experiences in the world. In fact, just seing that show live, is way more grim then setting the fire to a church.

I got in a fight for one of Brann Dailor's drumsticks but I didn't get it.

Some fugly goth chick took a drumstick from my hands after... em... was it Abigail Williams?... Can't remember. I must say that the thought of punching her in the face crossed my mind... But since it was a girl, even if she was ugly as fuck... I dunno how the crowd would have reacted... So I just let go. God was I angry at that pathetic ugly fuck!
So it's snowing here already, which is sweet. But driving home last night on the highway when it was pitch black, foggy, snowing and raining like fucking crazy wasn't too fun. Add to that the fact that I had been walking all day, was sore, tired and the fact that my sister's car doesn't have cruise control... well, you know.

That sucks, man. It might snow here pretty soon, and I hate snow. The roads get pretty bad here too. Last year we missed two weeks of school due to snow storms. Making those days up was not fun. It's not safe to drive cruise control during bad weather though, dude.

I've met and spoke with all of DragonForce besides Sam.
I met James LaBrie and John Myung.
I also grabbed Joe Duplantier's crotch after we pulled him into the crowd after a Gojira gig.
And I spent an evening at Bloodstock wandering around with Chris from Alestorm.
At 10/25/10 05:04 AM, HeavenDuff wrote: That makes me think of something I want to ask the Metal Hell. Any of you guys have some special memories from gigs?
All the notable memories are either bad ones or have become bad ones (or sad ones).
The one that isn't an obvious ex-girlfriend one was at DragonForce. We all got fucked on the train to the gig and I spent so much of my energy during All That Remains that I was totally dehydrated by the time DF got on stage. Had to nip to the toilet to get some water from the taps and watched the mediocre, atonal crap from the back out of laziness.
I suppose I have special memories of Bat for Lashes in that the first time Natasha wore a tight catsuit and the second she had a dress on that made her legs look fantastic. But thats special in a different way ;).
I prefer festivals now because their so much more enjoyable. You get to watch bands, etc and spend time inbetween just hanging out, getting hammered with good friends and meeting loads of people. Theres lots more scope for memories rather than just going to a gig, seeing band, going home.
I love snow. The more the merrier.

Meh. I'm used to it. Everyone here does 130 on the highways so I just set it at 120 and go in bad weather.
