Dunno really, haven't gone and looked for anything of that nature. My nuts did slowly crawl up into my body though, when I watched that dude shoot himself in 'My Funeral'.

I thought it was pretty grim and kvlt myself.
Thanks for your post Nev. I guess I do like to get recommandations from people I trust. Yup, the regulars from the Metal Hell are amongs my favorite people when it comes to tastes in Metal.
I do remember reading some post from you, saying that you were not so much into metal anymore. What keeps you coming to the Metal Hell then?

HAHA THIS.
You know how someone tells a joke that most people wouldn't get but you get it? Ah that's a nice feeling.
I got dogged. I asked the bitch out for dinner because today, today is our one year anniversary. She said yes a few days ago and now she's busy. I tell you what, some girls just fuck you up inside.
I'm getting into Pelican, they fucking rule. I've been listening to their second album for a while but I'm currently downloading Australasia, which I remember Idio really being into years ago.

Happens to me. My lady was gonna attend one of my gigs and dress up like a sexy fairy with cleavage or something, but now she can't get the day of work off. They do fuck with your mind and soul, man.

Really good band, I need to get another album soon.
I saw this album in the stores today and I was like "That robot looks so familiar to me and having "Iron" in the band's name is just taking the cake." I can tolerate bands having a similar musical style to Iron Maiden but this is far too silly IMO.

It's got a lot of that punky sludge influence and that attitude, but it's slow as fuck. there are actually a lot of drone sludge bands; burning witch are the most notable example i can think of. a lot of drone doom, like teeth of lions rule the divine and khanate, borders on drone sludge. anyway, harvey milk are sludgey 'cause they have a lot of punk influence, but they're droney because they are super duper slow.

you've gotta admit, it's a pretty sick album cover, though.

Glad you like them. They're a pretty underrated band.

Ever hear of clone bands?

Any of you listen to The Scorpions? A lot of their stuff is really good, and I wish they got more credit than Rock You Like A Hurricane. I suggest, if you want to check them out, you get their 70s albums, they're heavier and less commercial.

RAWRRRR! I think I'll fit right in here. I love bands like Pantera, Chimera, demon hunter and The Black Dahlia Murder and many others. I figure I'll ask you guy's permission before just wandering in.

Don't really caremuch for The Scorpions, but this is awesome.
Went out partying and it was metal, because for the first time in my life I met a metalhead at a party. He fuckin' asked me if I liked Electric Wizard! No cunt has ever asked me that shit. He knew what sludge was. And the cunt was 16! I gave him weed for the first time.
Then I got fucking wasted. This party had like thirty sixteen year old girls at it.
And then I met up with a chick. Likes a lot of deathcore, but I've chatted to her about Obituary and Suffocation and shit, totally felt her up. Tiny hot scene looking girl too haha! Then this morning she wacked an egg with an empty bottle of vodka, baseball style. Broke that shit everywhere. METAL NIGHT WAS METAL.

Did he ask you if you liked High on Fire too?

I knew what sludge was when I was 14. Do I get a prize?

Why would you do that? Keep the scene girls out of death metal. Let them listen to their shitty deathcore.

Obviously I know clone bands (e.g. Savage Circus being a Blind Guardian clone despite still being enjoyable) but I gave that band a listen to and they hardly sounded like Maiden. They weren't anything spectacular, though. If anything, I'll sooner call Helloween a Maiden clone than them.

I have three of their albums (In Trance, Virgin Killer and Taken By Force) and I actually got all three albums for £5. I didn't really enjoy Virgin Killer and I like a few songs in In Trance. As for Taken By Force, now that's a great album. It's all good from the catchy opening of Steamrock Fever to the beautiful ballad of Born to Touch Your Feelings. Other great songs from the album are He's a Man She's a Woman and Sails of Charon as Dalnaki stated.

Or we can get them to listen to better music. :)

Suidakra (Melodic Black/Death Metal with Folk/Medieval Influences)
Black Sun Aeon (Melodic Death/Doom Metal)

Swallow the Sun (Melodic Doom/Death Metal)
Enochian Crescent (Melodic Black Metal)
This is what I recommend.
Btw, Insomnium, went to see them 3 weeks ago, it was magnificient, I love them so much.

Show off cunt :D

Cos I luuuuuuuuuurve ladies.
And you guys were talking about it before, but Deflorate is like less core than every other Black Dahlia release, more like modern sounding death metal/melodeath. A dose of deathcore and stuff. Melodeath. I hate melodeath. Fucking melodeath.
This cunt I was hanging out with was playing core in his car for hours and hours while I was with him cruising around. Fucking Amooty Adickflicktion and shit. Fucking terrible repetitive bullcrap. Killswitch are probably the coolest metalcore band because they have slightly thrash sounding bits, and their pit would probably rock socks. Fucking killed Holy Diver though. Fucksticks. I'm baaaaked I just got given a bag of pot for fucking free.

Are you talking about the Killswitch Engage version? If so, it was the worst metal cover song I've ever heard.

I don't know if you're a Summoning fan but this is the most horrid cover I've ever heard. It's an insult to the original, and even when I try to pretend that it's a standalone track I still can't find anything redeeming about it.

I really don't see anything wrong with the Holy Diver, cover. It gives you a vision of what Dio would sound like as a -core band. And the answer is, godawful.

Sentimentality :P.
I'm still into Metal. I just don't listen to it that much anymore. I still need Blind Guardian to get me through my exercises, and I still need Dystopia to teach me how to hate people (on buses). I work in simple ways. I hear a song that I like. I then start listening to that genre a lot. I've not heard a new Metal song that I like in a while.

While we're on the subject of classic metal, Judas Priest is one of my favorite bands of all time.

i really don't see whats wrong with the cover, what was so bad about it? is it the fact that a metalcore band covered it?
