No, Despised Icon is fagcore. It's not death metal, because it is not metal. It is hardcore, with the usual chug-chug, breakdown, bree-bree, hardcore shouting styles.

Death Metal is Atheist, Death, Morbid Angel, Benighted, Suffocation, Origin, Kronos, Blood Red Throne, Benighted, Cannibal Corpse and many others. But you won't find any Death Metal riffs in Despised Icon work. All they do is play very fast scales over chug-chug riffs.
