Good review, not a bad description of the album. Hope to see more of your work soon.

So Sotajumala's new album is super dope.
You should all check it out.
Also, what are some good melodeath bands ala Mors Principium Est?

Response to Metal Hell 2010-09-20 19:35:44

I had a great time at Heidenfest today! To summarize it, Heidevolk were great, Swashbuckle were meh (more entertaining when they're not playing), Equilibrium were good, Ensiferum were awesome and so was the Bathory tribute Twilight of the Gods.

I will. Next review will probably be for In The Shadows Of A Thousand Suns by Abigail Williams or maybe Dopethrone by Electric Wizard.

Also, I'd like to know what you guys think of the band Obscura.

Adult Swim put up a compilation album, looks like mostly sludge/doom, looks like some good stuff too so if anyone wants to get a taste of some of those bands check it out here.

I saw a commercial for that last night. At first, I rolled my eyes, but then I saw the names and was like "what? wow" Boris, Isis, Kylesa, etc.

I just wrote up about my time at Heidenfest 2010. You can give it a read on my userpage.

I gave your review a read and I liked what you said about the album. It's straight to the point and I'm now told even more to check the album out.

Dude this shit is pretty dope. I honestly never saw something like this coming from [as].

Just boosts their "awesome" status even more.

it's cool to see Red Fang on that list; there's a band that needs more recognition. If anyone likes stoner metal, check the fuck out of Red Fang.

I know most of you here probably don't even know who Autopsy is, but have any of you heard the new Autopsy EP yet? Shit kills. Chris Reifert never disappoints.

Actually, I recognise the name. I remember a friend of mine trying them out once but neither of us enjoyed their music. Of course, as someone who isn't a big fan of death metal to begin with, there was no chance of myself getting into the band at all.

Wow, I think I criminally overlooked Accept's new album. I wasn't expecting much from these guys with the absence of Udo but when I heard the first six tracks, it turned out to be better than expected. I'm really liking Teutonic Terror. I have to pick this album up next time I'm in town.

We will, GIVE 'EM THE AXE!

Also, if anyone's interested, here's Swashbuckle with some silly costume dancers. This alone made me think they were like Spinal Tap as pirates.

What did you listen to? Was it their post-Mental Funeral material? I can see why, if so. Not a lot of people like it. Basically just a prelude to Abscess.

Good, well, slipknot might not be liked by everyone here, but I can see Slayer which most likely fits perfecty into this :)

Welcome in the club-

what about Avenged sevenfold and Bring Me The Horizon ?

obZen; Destroy, Erase, Improve; and Chaosphere. Those three are pretty bad ass.

Chaosphere has their best song on (New Millenium Cyanide Christ) so thats one to try.
I enjoyed obZen and Catch-33 sounds good from the songs I've heard.

It's all atonal, mechanical deliciousness anyway.

Also for the Brits, Rhapsody of Fire and Immortal already announced for Bloodstock. Oh my!
Bahamut, come!

I never caught the name. My friend never told me what it was. Then again, even if he did tell me, I would have forgotten by now. Ah well.

Me and my sister really want to go to Bloodstock next year because of those two bands alone. We'll have to see what we can do.

Destroy Erase Improve, Catch 33, Chaosphere and obZen. Either in that order or whatever order you please.

If you want to cut down on the album listening-to, just listen to 'Elastic' off of Chaosphere, it's basically all of Chaosphere played at once.

If you listen to it on a CD player, the second the song finishes, the feeling/ambience/mood it sets is fucking amazing. I love it.
