I got it as well, and I don't think I've even heard the song before.

Be careful with that, cause once you click that link, there is no turning back.

And Paul Guilbert.
I remember when that song was a little mini-meme around here.

That song went on for way to long. 5:11 to long.
Reminds me of this song.
Also, I forgot to post this as soon as I saw it. Maybe if I posted it a few months ago it would have caught on as a meme...like...think troll face with photobombing.

Destroy everything !!! Hahaha! So fucking hardcore !!!
I remember having an argument with a friend who simply couldn't accept that these guys were not a fucking metal bands. He was saying that this specific song was like... "the definition of metal"...
That was a sad sad day...

Oh dear :/ I don't think there is a song that can really capture 'the definition of metal'. Though I wouldn't mind seeing opinions on what everybody else thinks is the song that defines metal >:)

I would never say a band or song can define ALL metal, but I've made up this situation in my head...
If you could only choose one song to make people understand what metal is, what song would you use. Just pretend that the guy you are talking to have never heard of metal music and never heard that genre of music at all.
My selection would be Hallways Of Enchanted Ebony.
This song has everything a metal title needs to be metal. You can find folk and black metal elements in this song and even... traditionnal heavy metal elements. There is a guitar solo in the song, great leads, interresting rythms and good accoustic parts with a great and powerful bass line. Having a powerful and well audible bass line is very important in metal, and the bass really stands out in this song. I may not know a lot about drums, but the drums in this song are typically metal. There are smooth melodic parts and heavier parts. While not being has agressive has some other metal, it's still heavy and John Haughm's harsh vocals still have the agressivity that is typical of a lot of metal genres and sub-genres. It really has to be THE song I would choose if I could only pick one song to make someone discover metal.

Joey Belladonna has apparently returned to Anthrax not only for the upcoming shows but also to record the new album. They were vague about it which is why I'm not like "HOLY SHIT, JOEY BELLADONNA IS BACK FOR GOOD!!!!!" Something tells me this is too good to be true.

Black album is black album so who cares about its popularity? We all know it's inferior to its predecessors.

I'm pretty sure there's a power metal band out there that's so bad they'll make DragonForce look like Blind Guardian. Now that's an interesting challenge.

Funny, I know the song name but haven't heard it either. I guess that's a good thing.

I decided to listen to it. You're not missing much, I could only sit through 2 and a half minutes of it.

Hammerfall?
I guess I'm one of the few here who regularly listen to metalcore. How special.
If you can recommend me any other good metalcore albums then please do so.
All That Remains - The Fall Of Ideals
I know pretty much everyone and their fucking dog knows about this album, and thinks it's the absolute tits, but it is a really great album imo, so metalcore it hurts. Seriously just listen to This Calling, Not Alone, Six, Become The Catalyst, The Air That I Breathe and Empty Inside, the best songs on there.
I also find it amusing that my favourite metalcore band used to be much heavier, check out their first album Behind Silence and Solitude for a more melodic deathmetaly style.
Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache and self titled album (2009).
1 - Rose of Sharyn, Breathe Life, The End of Heartache, Declaration, Wasted Sacrifice.
2 - Never Again, The Forgotten, Reckoning, Take me Away, I Would Do Anything and This Is Goodbye.
I strongly recommend Horizons by Parkway Drive, it's my favouite metalcore album at the moment.
Listen to Siren's Song, Feed Them to The Pigs, Boneyards, Idols and Anchors, Dead Mans Chest, Frostbite and Horizons.
Though I'm not a big fan of them, you could check out The Devil Wears Prada's With Roots Above and Branches Below, listen to Sassafras, I Hate Buffering, Dez Moines, Wapakalypse and Lord Xenu.
hm.
Great list, ZpLiNtEh. It's perfect for people who hate themselves and feel like they need to be punished.

Meh, the song names are far more depressing than the actual songs.
Though some of the KSE songs are a wee bit depressing.
Ah well, you can hardly say metal is an uplifting genre as a whole now can you?

judas priest
iron maiden
rage against the machine
dragonforce (yes i know they're crap)
korn
corrosion of conformity? i think they are
ac/dc
black sabbath
Beyond Groovy.

No dude, don't suggest bands like ATR and Killswitch Engage. First of, because we all know about them already and also because bands like Killswitch Engage are what makes metalhead dislike metalcore.
And please, do not suggest Parkway Drive, they are angry teenagers playing melodic leads over breakdowns and chug-chug riffs.
I already listed a few interresting bands, you should also check them out.
Glass Casket
Through The Eyes Of The Dead
Throwdown
and maybe... All Shall Perish
One core band I really like is Protest The Hero, but mainly because of the vocals, they won't ever make it with metalheads.

Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, DragonForce, Corrosion of Conformity and Black Sabbath are all metal bands.
Motley Crue, AC/DC and Rage Against The Machine are ROCK, so not metal.
Korn is Nu-Metal, Nu-Metal and Metalcore is not welcome in the Hell.
You already have 6 bands, you need to list 4 others, and then one of the Horsemen will let you know if your in :)

i dont listen to acdc so i cant say if they are metal or not, but ratm are rap metal and motley crue might be rock, i also only half like korn, but i cant name many metal bands cause i only listen to a few, which are the ones i named apart from acdc dragonforce and black sabbath.
besides, as i said, all i listen to is metal, can i get away with it if i name 20 - 30 metal songs?

Rap Metal doesn't really exist as a genre. I know what you are talking about though. And bands like this would fall under Nu-Metal anyway. Like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park

Well, I'm not one of the Horsemen, I'm just trying to help you out on this one :P
I don't have the power to let you in :O
But I could suggest you check some bands out :)
Looking at your list, I could suggest you check out
Megadeth
Motörhead
Dio
Overkill
Sodom
Kreator
Sonata Arctica
Hammerfall
Edguy
Stratovarius
Axenstar
The metal bands you have listed are mainly thrash metal, heavy metal and power metal. There is some early doom metal on your list with Black Sabbath and strangly, while your stuff is mainly traditionnal thrash and heavy metal, you have a crossover band in your list. I don't know much about crossover, but some other guys in the Metal Hell could probably suggest you some bands that would be kind of similar to Corrosion of Conformity. Well... I know Municipal Waste is a well-appreciated crossover band in the Metal Hell, but they really aren't my style :P
My suggestion list includes Thrash Metal, Heavy Metal and Power Metal bands. Hope you like them :)
