Beside The Moor which I've wanted to hear from them for 4 years its a pretty crappy setlist.
But I pretty much can't stand Opeth nowadays, so meh :P.

BTW Nev, I made a mistake about the ticket prices. It's actually £26.50, not £40 as I once thought. Oh, and say what you want about them now but it's not going to change my thoughts at all about the band and this show!

Fair dos, thats not a bad price.
Who was supporting?
And I'm not trying to make you dislike them. I'm just saying that my enthusiasm for them have completely diminished.
I'm still jealous about The Moor though :P.
Might get to see Root and Incantation soon. Depends on who else is playing.

Apparently there were "special guests" as stated on the ticket but I only saw the band and the roadies. Supposedly Steven Wilson was there but I didn't see him.
Oh, I want so much that AC/DC make another show here on Brazil...
I still don't have enough age, fuck.
On the subject of (by that, I mean you guys were talking about it pages ago) instrumentals, y'all should listen to Apokatastasia. very good instrumental prog metal. I mentioned them a while ago, but I don't think many gave 'em a listen.
Hi, I doubt any of you remember me, but I'm one of those guys that came in, asked for some metal recommendations, then never came back.
Anyway what do you guys think of hiphop/electronic music? Just curious.

Under "hip hop/electronic" I have Nosaj Thing and Flying Lotus.
I dig instrumental hip hop, trip hop, electronic/hip hop and electronic music. I just don't like rap.
Also, I remember you from the anime club.
99.9% of rap is shit in my eyes. Then again I only really hear shit in my friend's cars when I'm in them. I do listen to stuff like Dälek and madvillian/MF DOOM though.
On the topic of electronic music though, I am one giantofuck of an Amon Tobin fan. Same with Daft Punk (shut up I've been a fan since I was 7) and early stuff from The Chemical Brothers.

Metallica announced they're coming to Australia in November.
I jizzed.

I really like Infected Mushroom, Daft Punk and Justice
For rap there is not much to say... maybe Swollen Members... Fort Minor...
Em... and some old school hip-hop... Marky Mark And The Funky Bunch !!!

I hate it...
Liberals defend the exploitation of man by man, Conservatives defend the reverse.
I usually put rap and hiphop in the same category but if anyone here's a specialist in the two genres and would like to point out the differences between the two, feel free to do so. I'm not a fan of rap and I don't think I'll ever be a big fan of it. However, I do get some amusement from a few songs here and there but that's about it.
As for electronic, I actually have a few songs in my library.

I'm seeing them on the 12th of May, all being well.

I don't care for Hip Hop. But Electronic music is tha fucking shizz.
I like stuff like Four Tet, Múm, Moby, Amon Tobin, Aphex Twin, Imogen Heap, later Radiohead.
Ambient Electronic stuff I guess :).

Why the defence of Daft Punk? Isn't it common knowledge that they're amazing? Don't be doubtin', brother!

I have to admit, but I sometimes listen to hip hop. As for electronic, it all depends on my mood.
I'm glad to see that metal lovers like you guys aren't as biased towards electronic music and hiphop music as I thought. I expected people to like electronic music, I didn't expect anyone to outright dislike electronic music though. I also expected practically everyone present to dislike hip hop. I'm glad to be right.
I don't dislike Hip Hop. I just don't like it. I can't relate to it.

So I downloaded Écailles de Lune by Alcest after hearing the Écailles de Lune (Part II Edit) in this months Terrorizer, and I must say, it is pretty fucking awesome.

Some people say it sounds nothing like Souvenirs d'un autre monde, which is the previous album released by Alcest but that it sounds more like what Amesoeurs.

So I'm looking for some atmospheric metal. Not just synth in the background either, I mean like really atmospheric. Kind of like Mirrorthrone I guess. I already have all of the Burzum albums to. Piano interludes wo9uld be cool, I'm really getting into the piano lately.
Also some straight up raw lack metal. I'm talking like Wolf's Lair Abyss black metal.
And on a note related to opeth, my watch still hasn't even been shipped out yet. I ordered it 3 weeks ago.
sniffle

For atmospheric metal you should definitely check out all of Agalloch's albums
The album Bergtatt by Ulver. Some Drudkh
Sorry... I pressed post it for no apparent reason...
You should also check out some stuff by The Morningside.
You said you don't want any synths... dunno if Wolves In The Throne Room are going to be any good for you, but their album Black Cascade is really worth it. And some Primordial
For raw black metal
Nattens Madrigal by Ulver
Ars Talionis The Art Of Retaliation by Balrog
