I've had a few listens though now and I'm really loving it.
I heard that song yesterday. Too epic for words.

So last.fm has found me a new solo project, mirrorthrone. This guy is pretty awesome.

Damn! We are awesome !!!!
I said C&C...
If you guys had to name the album of the year right now, what album would it be? Mine is either Snakes for the Divine or Ironbound.

This year?
We are not even 4 months into 2010 :P

I meant based on what was out so far. I mean, there were some pretty good albums put out so far, and based on those recommendations, I might check some stuff I've missed.

That's what I thought to others who were already naming their best metal album of 2010. It's WAAAAY too soon for me to even decide that considering the upcoming albums of many other artists. However, if I had to name one album that I find to be the best of this year so far, it's Ironbound. It's so good I find it to be better than Horrorscope and The Years of Decay.
Best thrash album is Overkill's Ironbound. Check that shit out.
I agree on Megadeth's Rust in Peace...or maybe Peace Sells, I dunno.
I'm not even keeping up with release dates. I can't even name one album that came out in 2010...

I think its a really boring and generic thrash album.

A Scream to Express the Hate of a Race
Easily his best song. Carriers of Dust is such an amazing album. One of my favourite artists
This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.

Really? I'm always keeping myself on track for latest releases as well as pick up any older albums that I should have, like Destruction's first two EP and albums which I bought for £12 altogether. Not a bad deal.

The Green and Black says otherwise. It's the best Overkill song I've heard.

Decided to listen to it out of curiosity.
It's really good. I listened to some Overkill a while back, and wasn't too impressed, but I really like this.

First of all, that song is way too long. And i really hate the conveyor line guitar riff.
Its the kind of song that is so bland that it makes me feel slightly annoyed.

This is what i';ve been thinking.
I'm seeing Overkill headline in a month with Vader, God Dethroned, Warbringer, Evile, Woe Of Tyrants and a bunch of local bands.
Since Overkill are headling can you guys recommend me some of their best songs? (I'm going to check out their new album due to the fact they'll probably play a couple songs off it)
Also best album of 2010: Blind Guardian's upcoming one which is coming out in fucking September!
FUCK YEAH

I only like their albums Feel the fire and Years of Decay.
Here's the title track from feel the fire, my favorite overkill song.

My reaction.
Have any of you guys head of Anata? They're some pretty awesome technical death metal. I highly suggest their album The Conductor's Departure.

Yep, been a fan for a while, I love that they're very progressive too.
The Infernal Depths of Hatred, I think it's their debut album is also really good.

Well, if you don't like it, I won't force you to think otherwise but personally I find it to be a thrash highlight. I only like long thrash songs in occasions and The Green and Black is one of them. Great intro, fantastic riffs and a damn good solo.

I'll have to hear something from their new album that isn't Sacred before making such expectations. Last night, I listened to a sample of Reign of Terror from Rhapsody's new album and even with the harsh vocals, it sounds awesome! I have even higher expectations for their new album now.
Helloween's releasing a new album this year. Gamma Ray also released their new stuff in january.

Yep, I'm well aware of it. Should be around Halloween. Well, when else? :P They better make up for that atrocity known as Unarmed.
Gamma Ray also released their new stuff in january.
It was alright but with a title like To the Metal, I was expecting something more.
Well I say it was better than their more recent stuff like Majestic and Land of the Free 2.
It wasn't epic, but it was....KINKY. lol

It's funny that Gamma Ray doesn't come out when we talk about cheesy bands. It seems that Manowar is just so cheesy, there is not room left for other bands like Gamma Ray.

I actually prefer Land of the Free II over To the Metal. I thought it was a really good album overall.

You CANNOT mention cheese without mentioning Rhapsody!

What about in the context of actual cheese?
I have never heard of To The Metal, is a Gamma Ray album?
Weird.
Anyway I think their new stuff is leaning towards more traditional heavy metal like iron maiden than power metal.
Which I don't mind, LOTFP2 was good IMO.

No, Edguy are hilarious.
There's a difference.
I don't like them that much. Although The Metal Opera by Avantasia was awesome.
Yeah, they released the new album in January, it has some good songs, plus, Michael Kiske sang on one of their songs.
