I don't know. If I heard right, don't get me wrong, but Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead was quite a competitor, and he's not even a porn star.

Lemmy's count is around 2,000, or so it's claimed.
The title track off of Immolation's new album fucking crushes.

The album cover screams out power metal to me but some reliable sites don't claim it to be. Besides that, it does look damn good. :) Shame I've never heard of Axel Rudi Pell before.
Check this out, yo. Rough drafts but they're all right.
Here I am, bored with everything.

Metal-Archives datas on Axel Rudi Pell...
Genre: Heavy Metal
Lyrical Themes: Wizards, Magic, Mystical Themes
in the current line-up there is: Ferdy Doernberg - Keyboards (1998-)
Wikipedia: Heavy Metal/Speed Metal
Metalstorm.ee: Genres: Power Heavy Metal.
I know Wiki and Metalstorm may not be very good sources...
but Heavy Metal is sometimes confused with Power Metal and some Heavy do sound power-ish. Plus, the lyrical themes are soooo power metal-ish, there is a goddamn keyboardist in the band, and finaly, their covers are power metal-ish.
This band screams Power Metal. Power Metal is sweating out of these guys faces :P

I've heard a few bad things about Metalstorm, especially from Goatchrist so I've forgotten about that site. If that site considers Slipknot as metal, then it's what I thought. If not, then I'm not sure what the site he didn't like was called.
There is a goddamn keyboardist in the band
Does that mean Dream Theater are power metal?

They've sort of teetered on the line between classic Heavy Metal and Power Metal ever since their third album. Before that, they were pretty much the very definition of Glam.
Nowadays, they play a mix of Heavy Metal, Classic Rock and Power Metal. But The Crest looks like a return to a more Power Metal style.
So, I just want your guys' input again, because I'm having an argument with a friend, and I want to prove him wrong:
Which is heavier, black metal or death metal?
I'd appreciate any responses.

I'd probably say Death Metal, I love both but to me DM is usually heavier while BM is more atmospheric and messy.
Although In The Constellation Of The Black Window is fuckin sick and heavy, made my ears hurt several times, it's sexeh :P
At 3/13/10 09:09 AM, Zodir wrote: Which is heavier, black metal or death metal?
That all depends on what your definition of heavy is.
At 3/13/10 09:09 AM, Zodir wrote: Which is heavier, black metal or death metal?
Death Metal commonly has much more bass and overall 'crunch' to it.
The vocals are also much more in the 'Heavy' sound than BM.
Black Metal as lacks a lot of the bass, but makes up for it with atmosphere to be fair.
So I'm gonna say Death Metal.

I would say death metal, because it is (most of the time) faster. And like Oppugnant said, black metal lacks some bass. It's not as clean sounding.
Don't get me wrong, I love them both, but Death metal is definitely heavier.

So if a website classify Metallica as Heavy Metal, Kreator as Thrash Metal, Mordor as Doom Metal, Ulver as Black Metal, but who would dare implying that Nu-Metal is a form of metal, you would say that everything about this website is crap?
I'm sorry dude... but to a lot of people, Nu-Metal is a form of metal. Can't say I could blame them... just look at the name...

In fact I pretty much meant that all of the caracteristics I named putted together were making a pretty good reason to classify them as Power Metal.
You won't see knights and wizards in DT's lyrics and album covers. Plus, I said that sometimes Heavy and Power Metal are confused with each others.
