Maybe with your tastes. But people with, you know, good taste know where the good music is at. :p

I was just trolling. I was pretty much saying to opposite of my real thoughts.
There is great stuff made in Canada :)

Actually for the description I read it just said " musical project ". It really didn't go into detail.

It's Avant-Garde music.
Mixed with Metal.

Avant-Garde music is all about pushing boundries and making unique sounds, methods, etc, etc.
Metal is a genre using heavily distorted guitars and a Satanic influence.

From what I've heard Agalloch aren't Avant-Garde.
Meshuggah kinda are, but not really.

For proper good stuff check out:
Arcturus - Sham Mirrors, La Masquerade Infernal
Age of Silence - Acceleration
Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye
Solefald - Pills Against the Ageless Ills, Iceland Odyssey I & II.
Virus - Carheart
Ved Buens Ende - Written in Waters

If you want more Sense will carry that on, he always does.

Wikipedia begs to differ. But then again wikipedia isn't some all knowing being.

I must say just after listening to a few songs I love Agalloch.

Actually a few music sights say they're progressive metal. Which I wouldn't have a hard time believing. Or maybe it's just a certain album by them.

Carpathien Forest is like beer. It's an aquired taste (however you spell it).

Beer isn't necessarily an aquired taste. Or at least not a good one for analogies, because pretty much everyone drinks beer regardless of whether they like it. I think most alcohol tastes like shit, but I still drink because I like being drunk.

It'd work if you were making a point about poseurs, but I don't think you were.

Beer is more of a social drink. Like, rock up to a party "Hey dude, how's shit, have a beer", stand around, talk shit over a beer or 2, then move onto whatever you really like drinking.

That statement is incorrect.

Shit tastes good (I know I'm going to get a lot of heat for this, but I've had a scat fetish my entire life) but never say that alcohol tastes like shit, because it doesn't. The two are completely different. Now, having said that, I like the taste of some alcohol, but as with a lot of people, what I like more are the after-effects.

Back on topic...Wolves In The Throne Room is playing downtown this Thursday for $5 to the general public ($2 for people who go to NYU). I'm strongly considering going to this gig.

I hate beer though. I like the other hard stuff mixed with drinks like Jack Daniels,Vodka,Yagermiester and so on. I don't think I'll ever get used to beers taste.

Also This may be the worst mayhem cover I've ever heard done by a band.

The first step to recovery is admitting your problem...

:P Just kidding, each to their own, but wow, never in my life have I come across someone into that. Interesting. Thanks for the enlightenment \m/

You never met anyone in real life who's into scat?

So much for the hundreds of thousands of scat sites on the Internet.

Basically, I've had a scat fetish for almost as long as I can remember, even as a really little 3-year-old kid. At that age, I was fascinated by going into the ladies room and peeking under the stalls, and it all progressed from there. I've lost count of how many scat porn images and videos I've been subjected to a long time ago...doubt it's ever going to go away.

Wait dude. Just wait, Limbs is only the introduction of what we call enlightenment.

And also, why don't we stop talking about scatophilia. I'm more into metal than shit you know. And this is still the Metal Hell.

Well dude.... that pretty much sums up what NSBM is...
a bunch of guys playing black metal... singing about aryanism every now and then and write about nationalism. You don't need to be named Jews On A Barbecue to be NSBM :P

Response to Metal Hell 2010-03-06 04:32:41

Ns black metal is about National Socialism. Singing about nature and loving your country isn't NS. Singing about white supremacy, antisemitism and the holocaust would be. I'm not saying Knjaz isn't NS. Because from all I've heard and from what I understand about his beliefs and my experiences with people like that, yeah he is. I'm just saying that singing every now and then about things that have NS overtones doesn't make your band NSBM. In my eyes it's like saying Darkthrone is a death metal band because of Soulside Journey.

All right. I've never really been into this "classification by lyrical themes" shit anyway. I think the genre classification should reflect the sound and not the words of the lyrics.

Otherwise there would be genre classifications for all the shits...
I mean... is there a classification for Black Metal with lyrics about dismembering people? I don't think so. What would they call it anyway? Brutal Dismembering Black Metal?
